Hotel Alpina

Everything was wonderful about this hotel. They allowed us early check as well as a free breakfast! The hotel staff was extremely friendly.

They allowed us to arrive late, amazing breakfast and very friendly staff, easy to checkin and checkout. There is boiling water you can use in the dining area, which helped us with our instant noodles. The room was big and had a small balcony

The ladder for the bed above feels a bit unsafe, I would add a big long and strong rail to the side of it for extra safety

The breakfast was very good, the staff were very nice and the location was good, a great value for money, would come back again.

Charming rooms with spectacular views from every window. Clean with simple amenities - everything you need, no frills. The lofted room offered fantastic (and fun!) space for our family. 10m walk from the train to the hotel, 10m walk from the hotel to the lift. It was perfect for our needs, we would absolutely recommend this hotel to others.

The location was great, staff friendly, room clean, breakfast was great and plentiful. When we arrived early we were able to leave our luggage and go about our day. Loved it.

The bathroom in the room was tiny and so close to the bed that in the morning my partner opted to use the bathroom in the hallway outside the room.

Location and view from the terrace was magnificent. Staff and amenities left a lot to be desired. A two star Hotel that lives up to its rating. No frills but good location to visit Lauterbrunnen Valley and Lake Oeschinensee.

We enjoyed our stay. Lovely little room, very efficient bathroom/shower. Great breakfast spread in the morning.

The key situation is pretty unique. Our only issue was that our exterior key did not work on the front door when we returned from dinner that evening and we had to get another resident to (kindly) let us in.

We booked one of their quadruple rooms which was spacious. Beds were super comfortable, room was very clean, location & parking facilities were convenient. And breakfast was just amazing with lots of varieties. We arrived later than the last check-in time and our keys as well as an information note were left at the reception. We could not wish for a better hotel which we arranged last minute.

Close to the cable car and train station. Great breakfast. Spacious room with balcony and two sinks. Nice base before or after you hike hut to hut

The Economy Room was nicer than what the photos convey and the leafy mountain view from the big windows and balcony was lovely. Yes, the room is outdated, but its clean and roomy for an "economy" room and beds were comfy. It was the most affordable accomodation we had in our 3 weeks in Switzerland and we appreciated its reasonable price. Breakfast was fantastic, so many choices, including fresh vegetables and soft boiled farm eggs. The big umbrellas for guest were nice to use on a rainy stroll through the little charming village.

The bathroom in our Economy Room was cramped and tiny and the sliding door was right next to the bed, so if you are shy about toileting noises, it could be a problem. Fortunately there is also a shared bathroom in the hallway that was always clean. The indoor lounge area is dark and uninviting, but we didn't need to use it. No hot water kettle in the room and if you want tea or coffee after breakfast hours, you must pay additional 3 CHF.Although your tourist tax entitles you to a Kandersteg guest card to ride the local buses, we found it easier to just walk the flat 10 minutes to and from the train station or 15 minutes to the Oeschinensee Gondola. We felt lucky to have stayed two nights in Kandersteg because the first day was too cloudy and you really need to have some sun to light up Oeschinensee's glacier waters to experience its spectacular mirror reflections and gorgeous blues. As well as take the first gondola up to try to beat most of the crowd.

Staff was friendly and hotel was very clean. Breakfast was great too. We arrived early and were allowed to drop off our luggage and go for an afternoon hike.

Good value for the location. Quite decent breakfast spread.

Neighbors were loudly fighting in the middle of the night. Couldn’t sleep much but their fault not yours

Great location. Helpful stuff. It was great, that they have electric car charger. Good breakfast. Single room still quite roomy and has a balcony with great mountain view.

A bit outdated, but authentic, swiss style.

Location of the Hotel is great. 3-4 mins walk from the city center. The rooms are nice and the surrounding of the hotel extraordinary. Check in and check out was easy and the host very cooperative. Car parking was also next to the hotel.

Not all amenities are available. Breakfast is good but if you ask for anything like "omelets" or say "kettle" "iron box" you get a standard reply - "we are a 2 star hotel. We do not provide this or that"

It’s quiet, clean and comfortable. The surrounding area is beautiful.

The staff is super friendly, and I would especially like to highlight Ramona. We had to leave early the next morning and didn’t have the chance to have breakfast in the restaurant. She immediately prepared breakfast for us, which truly warmed our hearts.

It’s so close to Oeschinen lake trails. A lot of shop and restaurants near by. The view is so amazing from the hotel. Free parking.

The furniture is a bit old and the shower not so comfortable. Would be nicer to have a small fridge in the room.
