Waldhotel Doldenhorn

The breakfast was served in an elegant dining room. The food was delicious. We loved afternoon, tea and cake, staring at the gorgeous view from the patio. We also like the wine that was available in the lobby to purchase. The grill was beautiful and rustic.

We loved everything

The spa is amazing! We could have stayed there all day. The entire property is really beautiful and the rooms were very spacious. The breakfast was absolutely incredible and had so many different offerings.

We had to ask repeatedly for towels (we didn’t have any in our bathroom when we arrived). The property is a bit far out from the rest of town so it was challenging to find a place to have dinner nearby since we didn’t want to eat at the hotel. We had trouble getting the bartender to take our drink order at the bar- we waited over half an hour before eventually giving up and going back to our rooms.

I loved this hotel. The room was relatively basic but the view, spa and restaurant made it a real treat to stay in. The staff were also very nice and helpful.

It's a bit of a walk if you don't have a car but still doable.

Beautiful, big rooms. Wellness, pool fantastic. Breakfast buffet outstanding. Parking available. Small treats (welcome drinks, apples). Close to the ski lifts. Restaurant Rüedihus.

Wi-Fi a bit weak. Expensive (but great value for the price).

Pretty hotel, pretty location

No transport to hotel no bus no taxis. We had no phones as our provider did not work in Switzerland. We walked to a shop and asked them to call the hotel and they sent the car. Maybe this could have been pre arranged in a clearer way. Hotel closed reception till 7.00am and we had a train to catch at 7.15 thank god the lady started earlier and was able to take payment and also drive us to the station. We booked supper when we got there for 8.30pm and reception just said ok, when we get to the restaurant they hand us a snack menu because restaurant closed at 8.30 which we should have been informed about. After my complaint they allowed the full menu but the food was under par im afraid. Our dessert was burnt and after 40mins waiting for them to apparently cook a new one they tell ne they cant donit so brought me a bowl of icecream ? anyway felt like we were in a faulty towers episode. Also very bad wifi from hotel

The breakfast was fabulous. The Spa area is wonderful, there are different saunas with cold plunge, ice baths and showers, a salt room, a wonderful and cosy chill room, good size swimming pool and the confort to order food and drinks in the Spa area. The room was quite big with a comfy bed.

Nothing to dislike

Our 4 day stay at this hotel was .... full of contradictions. On one hand the hotel is nice and the location is great. Although we have stayed in other places in the same category that were better. The front desk was very friendly and competent.

It begins with a door hinge that should be fixed, goes over to the pool that is nice but would need some more attention, to the missing towels in the Spa area, to the extremely long wait for food from the kitchen, to unfriendly and overworked waiters. Nice would be if I could speak my native language in my home country with people who work there from foreign countries. We had to adjust to them by speaking English or French to be understood. It was these things and other small details which makes me say it was "OK" but not superb. The quality of the food was great (and expensive).... if you received the dishes you ordered. I will leave out the details of the dispute my wife and I had with one of the servers. We complained to management and we hope they take the necessary steps to correct the situation.

Everything was perfect, rooms are clean and they upgraded our rooms for free…they are extremely nice and the location of the hotel is wonderful.

The amenities are excellent. They are not advertised as they should be. They have an excellent pool, spa, sauna, and much more. I was so happy to discover these amenities. Additionally, the resort is located next to a trailhead that takes you to amazing trails that lead to multiple mountain huts, which have restaurants. The view from the front of the hotel is of waterfalls fed by glaciers. Car service to anywhere in town. The entire experience was amazing. I can't recommend this place enough.

The room rate is for 1 person. If you have 2 people in the room the price goes up. Watch your head, the hallway to the elevator is about 6 feet tall in one area.

This is a huge hotel, with an enormous bar, and spacious spa area. Our room was enormous. The staff were very friendly. The surrounding area is stunning, and you are in a great location for walking. The hotel is dog friendly.

If you are on Foote, it’s a bit of a trek into town. Whilst we were there at the hotel wasn’t very full, and it did feel a little eerie. The decor in parts of the hotel was a little worn.

Amazing location 20’ by foot from the train station and Coop (they pick you up by car and drive you to the hotel for free if you ask them), literally IN the forest with beautiful hiking trails starting from the hotel. Very quiet, beautiful, and wild - with the quality of a 4 star hotel.

I have loved absolutely everything.

The spa was lovely, dinner was great, and the room category we booked was spacious.

Some of the property feels just a tad dated but this is a minor nitpick — everything was clean and lovely.

The facilities, the dinner menu at the restaurant, the room. The receptionist agreed to change my category of the room after a booking.com mistake.

The booking with your website Booking.com. It was the second time I booked a room with a bathtub and when I did the check-in there was no bathtub in the room.

The location is stunning. It’s surrounded by the mountains, hiking trails start right behind the property. It’s all very woody and spacious. The staff is outstandingly friendly and like I said in the title I have never felt my dog so welcomed. They even made a reservation for me and her at the restaurant (whereas most places don’t allow dogs in the restaurants). That‘s the main reason for the high rating.The dinner menu was exquisite. I also enjoyed their saunas.

I wasn’t impressed by the breakfast buffet. It could have more veggie friendly and frag options like fruit salad and cut raw veggies.The fitness area could have weights not only cardio (you get that in while hiking).

breakfast is just good. spa is wonderful. the room we had has a great view of mountain and waterfall.

we did'nt like the service in the resto, we always had issue with our order.

The staff was very friendly and the service was great. We were upgraded to the suite since the hotel was not overbooked. The spa was great with lots of different saunas. The surrounding mountain views were spectacular.

Fantastic facilities with an incredible view of the mountains. Spa facilities were very good. Staff are extremely helpful and also offer a free taxi service to nearby places. Rooms were incredibly clean. A quite and calm atmosphere!

Food options for vegetarians were very limited

I ordered mushroom risotto for lunch. I believe it was around four ounces and the cost was $30.00. That was the only vegetarian option. Extremely expensive.
