restaurant was amazing really nice man behind the counter at check in great location - walking distance to lots of shops

no AC, so had to have windows open and the street was loud bathroom could use updating

Beautiful historic hotel conveniently located adjacent to the Hinterzarten train station. Incredibly clean and well maintained, and the staff was personable and welcoming. The breakfast (buffet) and dinner menu offered an ample selection which were all very tasty. Would definitely return if in the area.

Room (superiour double room) was beautiful. Hotel has beautiful authentic vibe. Location is amazing: next to train, sufficient parking, middle of the city.

There were SO many dying flies falling from the ceiling (counted 17 in just an afternoon). Staff just said "oh that's not supposed to happen". Never offered anything and when they did hoover they didn't even clean all the dead flies. Maybe a dead mouse behind the panelling but still an awful experience.

The food at this Hotel was very good. We had breakfast every day and dinner once. The location was also excellent. THis is a very well run family Hotel and Restaurant!

When I came in the room after long walk in Schwarzwald there was a bottle of water and small schokolad. Just in time!The room was also very comfortable.

The breakfast is amazing. The hotel is very well presented and very clean.

Most of the staff are fantastic especially the reception and breakfast staff. Upon a night in the restaurant things do slip a little as we were waiting long times for any service and especially for drinks as there's no physical bar.

The hotel staff were wonderful!! She helped us get our luggage to the room and made sure we had everything we needed. We had a beautiful room with a balcony. The room was clean and spacious. The parking is also free which was so nice. They also have a wonderful breakfast with a ton of selections to choose from. It was the biggest buffet selection we have seen so far. We did not eat in the restaurant for dinner because it was a little expensive. The restaurant was beautiful!! I would definitely stay here again.

We loved everything!

We thought the decor was exquisite and the dining rooms laid out in a very 'user friendly' way, We especially enjoyed the excellent fish served on the dinner menu. The chef's cooking was perfect.

From the moment you arrive at this lovely property, you are captivated by the warm, charm and quaintness of this mountain inn. The staff is so accommodating- check-in very welcoming and informative, bartender and restaurant staff attentive. The rooms are beautifully decorated and well appointed. The best is that the location is central, across from the train station and across the street from the bus pickup to take us to the Christmas Market ! Shopping and restaurants were down the street. Don't miss dining in house. I loved everything.

Gorgeous hotel with a friendly staff and comfy room. The breakfast buffet was amazing. The restaurant room was so beautiful. Would definitely stay here again but have my room in a different part of the hotel.

This hotel was perfect and I got the room I asked for--with a terrace. Unfortunately, during the time I was there, an outdoor bar located right below my room was entertaining a lot of people, with loud music and was open until the early morning hours. This was going on because of the Ravenna Gorge market and this was the final shuttle stop for the bus. Other than that, the room, staff and breakfast was beyond my expectations.

Steps away from the train station. Fabulous reception. Wonderful room- large, comfortable, well appointed, nice touches. Beautiful interior and dining rooms. Great dinner. Wonderful breakfast. Excellent service. Highly recommend.

We loved the little glass pots containing individual portions, the huge range of breakfast, the lovely decorations and relaxing atmosphere.

The female waitresses serving in the outside cafe were not very friendly they did seem very happy.We stayed four nights and the shower gel ran out after two nights. It was not replenished, fortunately we had our own supply.

Very nice hotel, perfect location, very nice breakfast, friendly staff, beautiful decor.

Parking was ok but very limited spaces

Small room at back of property, we were facing the railway station so no view, so different from the beautiful pictures on your website. The receptionist on duty there was we surmised part of the family said he could move us the next day but as we were only there for 3 nights we couldn't face the upheaval. Apparantly they only had a few rooms with a shower so limited availability. I booked this property a few months ago & had to pay the full amount upfront and would lose our money if we left so really had no choice but to stay. Will not do this again. As for the room, it was small & the bathroom in need of updating. A crack in the sink! Radiator has stains at the bottom. The shower cubicle was very seventies. If you turned round in the shower the water tap was protruding & would close shut! The so called balcony was so small two chairs would have made it impossible to sit in comfort & a view of the station building & trains was not a view of the Black Forest I was hoping for. The first night we ate in the restuarant, the food was ok but the service was terrible, we stood waiting for a table for nearly 10 minutes and there was no one about, you had to ring a bell in reception for staff. We didn't eat there again. My husband went for breakfast and said it was ok but the last morning when he got down there, there was little to be had, no one to replenish anything and again no staff about. There was no feeling of being welcome, the village was very quiet. Would not recommend.

Staff were nice, the room is clean and charming. Breakfast is amazing.
