NATURION Hotel Hinterzarten

Nice space in rooms including wardrobe closets, although, more shelf or dresser space would have been preferred. Good location for walking access to amenities in town.

We were shocked at checkout with an additional 150 euros charge for our 4-year old. The policy seems to say that this is for "child beds." So I am asking booking.com to try to resolve this.

Clear, good location.

The shower heater was out of order in the night, about 22h00. I contacted with the hotel staff and understood it’s a late night. But we didn’t get any proper compensation for it. It’s an unexpected event, but I don’t think I should tolerate it.

Older building with nice rooms but unfortunately not quiet.

The guests above us stomped around so much that our light fixture was shaking. It’s just an old building so that is normal but not ideal for through-hikers just looking for a nice sleep.

Room and food are amazing. Recommended for everyone that love nature. Great view and the people here is very friendly.

Unfortunately, my stay at this property was quite disappointing. The biggest issue was the mattress—it was the worst I’ve ever experienced in a hotel. To make matters worse, the hotel uses mattress covers without proper bedsheets on top, which I found quite disturbing. There was nothing we could do about it because the staff either did not speak or were unwilling to speak any language other than German, despite the property information claiming otherwise. This made communication impossible.Additionally, the mattresses and pillows were old and full of dust, which was a nightmare for someone with allergies like me. I couldn’t sleep at all.The rooms themselves were extremely noisy. You can hear everything, including people walking at night, as if they were right next to you. This seems to be due to the old wooden structure with no proper insulation.On a positive note, the breakfast was fresh and featured good-quality products, but the variety was quite limited.

Hmm. A lovely building in a beautiful corner of the Black Forest and set in charming gardens. Room was very nice - lovely bathroom and spotlessly clean. It's a short walk to the centre of Hinterzarten if you want a glass of beer or something to eat.

The listing seems to present the Naturion as a standard hotel but it's not - it's a bit like a heath spa. There are facilities listed that don't exist. There is no coffee bar - the owner showed me to a fridge with drinks in it that we could take and settle on an honesty basis but no beer. Small bottles of wine were available. Restaurant operates on a vegetarian only basis with a fixed menu served at 18:00hrs. Breakfast was OK with some cooked meats available.

Nice quiet location near the centre of Hinterzarten. Well appointed room and en suite with its own balcony. The bed was comfortable and we slept well.

Nothing really to complain of.

There is a lot of dog hair everywhere!!!! In the room, on the balcony, on the stairs and carpets. Nightmare! There’s no mini fridge in the room, very inconvenient for the summer. There’s no water heater. The breakfast was a disaster, there were very few options… very tight courtyard with a short parking area, the rest of the cars were parked just random and tight somewhere in the back… there’s no air conditioning. We had a queen sized room which was supposed to have double bed according to the room description! There were just 2 twin mattresses on a langer bed, which were slipping away during the night. After my first sleepless night, I ask for a change, a different mattress or a bigger bedsheet to keep those slippery small mattresses together and no one gave us an answer!!! The check in is at 14:00 on booking and in the hotel was 14:30. Unfriendly stuff. The dinner ist only for vegetarians… and the stuff didn’t have any clue what they should cook…

Rowling sheets not comfortable. Strange atmosphere, a bit creepy. Breakfast tried hard but mediocre. Wouldn’t return.

A convenient stop after following the Black Forest Panoramic route during the day which we took at a leisurely pace.Hinterzarten very small and quiet with a winter village feel. Very good restaurant nearby that was packed with locals (always a good sign) although the football was on which may have been a draw.Free, easy parking and a gentle host.The chalet style hotel was gorgeous and our room had the benefit of a sitting room.Bonus point for us was noticing the ski jump, driving to it and finding it was being used for practice (albeit on an artificial surface)

Was surprised that meats were on offer for breakfast. From the listing it seemed it would lean towards vegetarian or even vegan and often those sorts of offerings can be amazing (and imaginative)

Quiet location, close to all amenities and walks, clean, private parking, rooms spacious enough and pleasant decor, comfortable bed and good cushions.

The breakfast - not all food was really fresh, rolls not from bakery, yoghurt from supermarket pots, could have been organic or natural, juice from carton and seemed watered down, not what would expect from a hotel promoting 'nature'

The property has good location, near city center.

Breakfast is fair. There is no wardrobe with shelves in whole apartment. There is no trash can in whole apartment. Two room apartment description was misleading. Bed linen and towels were not changed during 8 days stay.

Great central location for Hinterzarten and surrounding areas. Excellent traditional breakfast each morning with homemade bread.

Nice clean room fully in spirit of the Black Forest, large bathroom, friendly and helpful staff, good value for money overall.

Squeaky wooden bed that had seen better times, framework is patched and needs to be repaired/changed. The mattress is good though.

I really enjoyed my stay at Naturion. The room was very clean and nicely decorated with beautiful views of the mountains. The location is great with some excellent walking routes just minutes away. The breakfast was excellent and the host very welcoming and helpful.

Very cute cozy property. Short walk from train station. Nice breakfast. Well priced. As pictured and described. I booked a single room and it had a large (for a single) bed and a nice balcony.

Not a big deal but had a bit of a communication issue at check out. My German is very basic. The older woman at reception was trying to communicate something to me and spoke in lengthy paragraphs - I had a hard time picking out the critical words and she didn’t seem comfortable using google translator on my phone. I did understand bus and train and told her that yes, I was off to the train station but there was clearly more to the conversation. Finally after a couple other wrong guesses on my part, I figured out that she had prepared a local transportation card for me and I needed to pay 2.90 euros for it. Maybe it’s a city tax that comes with a card? In any case, I already had a rail pass so I didn’t need or take it, but once I understood that she wanted me to pay a small sum whether or not I needed the card, I cheerfully paid it (although I left the card behind). It would be helpful to those of us with limited German if the communication was limited to the critical words - I think I would have understood “you must pay 2.90 now,” and wouldn’t care what it was for given the amount, but I didn’t understand the longer explanation. ?

paradise for vegetarians! Very friendly service and the room have a very good view. Love this place 10/10??
