Great self contained resort location with restaurants, pool, bar, etc at hotel. It’s located in a suburb of the main town but close access to a dedicated train line to town and local outdoor destinations - train/transit passes included

Location is fantastic, right by a great hike (but make sure it's open during the season you're there). Also, the train to go up the mountain is right there. The bus stop is also right next to establishment.

We had a family room, in which it would have been great to have a door between rooms. But for younger kids having a large room is probably great.

Everything! And the location was beautiful. It was winter and we wanted to see snow. It is nestled in near a river and trails, snowy and frosty every morning. Winter wanderlust! Close to Zugspitze and Garmisch too. Especially loved the gluhwein stand in the afternoon with the firepit. Very quaint!

We loved everything about this hotel. The staff were truly amazing! They even graciously allowed us out of one of our booked nights so we could travel outside the area, so we wouldn’t be paying for two hotels. Then we returned to finish our stay. The facilities are amazing! Nice cozy room. Do make sure to book in the building with indoor access to the pool though if that matters to you. Otherwise it’s a short walk outside across the street. Warm and large swimming pool and amazing breakfasts! Spa looked amazing but we didn’t use it. We’re here in the off season but we can imagine in the summer or winter the place is even better. Perfectly set up for skiing with what appeared to be equipment in the hotel. They rent amazing bicycles and e-bikes which we took advantage of and so enjoyed. We rode to lake Eibsee, around the lake and back. Then rode into Garmisch-Partenkirchen for dinner one night. They offer 3/4 board here but we had our mind set on certain cuisine. However the menu for dinners looked amazing here. My son went tandem paragliding about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Last thing they let us check out late for free on our last day before we headed to the airport. Hope this hotel stays exactly as it is… perfect!!

I loved the fact that this is a traditional Bavarian hotel, with warm friendly service, a large restaurant and warm bar on-site, and the swimming pool was great for exercising and relaxation. My most favorite part was laying in bed with my widows open enjoying the fresh air and listening to the stream that runs by the hotel.

Absolutely everything, Monica at the front desk is simply amazing, Franz (I think) is also the best and happiest host ever. We even had a Germany Fireman test alarm with all the works, smoke, water, rescue. It was an interesting event to live through and see and enjoyed a few free drinks for our trouble. Amazing place, will be returning, highly recommended

Spa area is nice but getting a little tired, it is used quite a bit and we enjoyed it every evening, but it is getting a little tired and some upgrades would be good. Still worth a visit and not a big negative, more of a recommendation for improvements. ??

Always a wonderful experience at Berg Hammersbach! We love it for its location (at the start of the Hallentalklamm hike) and ease of getting around (mini Bahn just steps away with routes to Eibsee and downtown Garmisch). Friendly staff, lots of parking and plenty of food and drink options (breakfast is a feast!).

Rooms were clean/updated. Beds comfortable. Breakfast and dinner and Biergarten were all fantastic.

No AC but enough breeze near the mountain stream to manage the heat.

The location was just perfect and clean rooms. We had room 124 it was perfect for a family of 4.We stayed for 2 nights and added a 3rd ?If you stay here, please add breakfast to your stay, totally worth it.

Highly recommend this place..5 out of 5 ? A fan for the 2nd floor bedroom would be great ,it can get a little warm upstairs.

Location can’t be beat and the staff is always friendly. Room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The Zugspitzbahn stop and a bus stop are steps away from the hotel grounds, making it easy to visit Eibsee as well as downtown Garmisch. Plenty of parking (and large enough for US size vehicles). This is also the starting point for the Hollentallklamm hiking trail. The food here is excellent!

We had a gorgeous view from our spacious room. Only downside was that lack of a stand-up shower. We’ve stayed here before in other rooms with traditional showers so this is not the norm.

Loved the property, the view, everything was accessible with the bus/ train as the stop was right outside. The staff was accommodating to our request. Couple of things we thought could be better:1. There was a separate charge for parking2. It was difficult to explore the property with the stroller as there were stairs here and there.3. The breakfast was a great spread, but nothing was refilled.. on day 1 we reached for breakfast at 9:30.. all egg items were finished apart from other things.

View from house is good and there is a bus stop right next to the hotel ,breakfast is good

The room is far from reception and some place don’t have elevator which is really inconvenient for baby stroller.and you need to pay attention to your bill,we didn’t drive a car but still charged us parking fee

We have been there off season, staff was very friendly and helpful and hotel is well connected to easily reach Zugspitze with minor transfers.

Unfortunately receptionist didn’t inform us that we have GrainauCard that gives free access to most local public transport. It’s would have saved for us 20eur.

Perfect holiday, room has mountain view, snow was super, mulked wine near fire was excellent. Room was very good tempereture,indoor pool was amazing. Breakfast were very delicious. We tried open buffet dinner and alacarte dinner. Both of them were very delicious. Hotel is very near to train station and bus stop but there is not any noise. We went to ski lift with train.You can rent ski equepment from hotel. We found trainer for ski from hotels. Hotel gace free ticket for train or bus. At the and they gaved us naturel mountain salt as a gift.
