    Pros +

    • We stayed in January en-route to Spain and we thought that the hotel was perfect especially with its beautiful views and perfect location to St Jean de-Luz
    • Wonderful location and breathtaking views!Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly, the breakfast is full of fresh local produce, the room is spacious and comfortable.
    • We had a great view, staff were great, it was quiet, room was fine for a night. Within walking distance of the town, and it's quite an interesting and pleasant walk, plenty of restaurants there, although they are all Basque traditional clones - no cuisine choice at all. There is an excellent Carrefour hypermarked on the N side of town (drive there) which we used to give the van a good filling with Cidre Doux prior to our ferry home from Bilbao.

    Cons -

    • Take in consideration that amazing views are coming with a cost of climbing the stairs
    • Parking is pretty cramped for a Citroen Dispatch MWB and difficult to find. Room is quite small, breakfast expensive (so we didn't - but there's a boulangerie just down the road). Set in a town that absolutely does not cater for vegetarians.
    • Our room had the toilet across the room from the shower and sink, a little inconvenient. If you take the stairs to town, you need a light to walk back to the hotel after dark.

We liked the location as it was outside the busy tourist area but we could walk to the center of town. Note the walk involves steep and uneven stairs from the property to the street below. The view from our room and the breakfast room was fantastic. It was convenient to eat breakfast on property and there were plenty of options.

Our room had the toilet across the room from the shower and sink, a little inconvenient. If you take the stairs to town, you need a light to walk back to the hotel after dark.

This was a really lovely room with a harbour view. I loved the location in the Ciborne side of the river. It was quiet and in a great location to explore that side of the harbour and out to the fort on the sea wall. The room was very comfortable and clean. And the staff were very helpful and friendly. I really enjoyed my stay.

It was great to have a kettle in the room but it would have been nice to have a small fridge and I thought the breakfast was good but a bit pricey.

Room was well appointed and great view. No lift so best to have a small bag.

Very tight parking, but ok. Road up is very narrow.

    8LesleyPosted on: 9-19-2025

Friendly helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Good views. Quiet location away from noise and fumes of traffic.Would stay there again.

Set up above Ciboure. Up a steep road and steep stairs. On the other hand because of the height it had great views.

The view from the balcony y the check-in desk

It was a little expensive .

Great location, walkable to everything, lovely ocean view from the property, friendly staff and super clean room.

The parking is tight and a bit tricky to turn the car around if all the spots are taken. There is street parking a couple blocks away.

The view from the Oceanside Balcony rooms is perhaps the greatest I have ever had at a hotel. Sleeping with the doors open to the sound of the ocean, just perfect

No lift so be careful bringing heavy cases. The car park is a challenge but perfect if you get a space, reversing in is not for the faint of heart

    8MikePosted on: 8-2-2025

The high location gave superb views of the town, beach and sea.The upgraded room was well decorated with hand painted murals of the town’s architecture. The bed was comfortable and the balcony gave even better views.

The breakfast was absolutely not value for money with the offerings very restricted. Parking is limited so to avoid having to park away from the hotel you need to arrive before 11am.Due to its wonderfully elevated position, the walk into town is down (and up) some very steep steps, approximately 70, which are not uniform and can be a challenge.

    Location

Room big enough for one night but for a long stay I would prefer one of their rooms with balcony

The location was awesome. View from the terrace was great. 15-20mins walk from both saint jean and Socoa

We would have liked a fridge in our room

    Everything was great ?

    Beautiful building, nice view

    Small parking

Beautiful location, a steep hike for less agile. Have stayed before so knew where it was. very comfortable pillow.

Suggest you park on the road leading to the hotel, as if car park full there is no where to turn around and you are on a 45 degree slope.. so check it out first before burning your clutch out. Breakfast super basic for 15 euros a head, croissant, two rolls, yogurt, one choice of cheese or ham, a few cereals and the odd bit of fruit not too fresh fruit, 3 cereals and Basque cake The egg boiling machine wasn't working.
