    Pros +

    • Breakfast and dinner excellent, plenty of choice for breakfast and dinner was absolutely delicious could not fault, would return just for the food ?
    • Pretty building in countryside
    • Terrace with an inceredible view form under trees. Howerver the breakfast was quite outstanding baked produced and other inhouse local specialities.

    Cons -

    • Mosquito nets would be a great addition
    • Empty shower sachets left in shower from last visitor. Shower door didn’t close. Shower head full of lime scale so I had to clean it.Not enough hangers. Only one small drawer in the bedroom. No bedside tables. Had to request additional soap and shampoo as they were not refilled after use. WC wobbled when sat upon. Sink tap full of limescale so I got soaked when using it, had to scratch off the limescale.Breakfast was adequate if a little unadventurous. Coffee was good.
    • Poor service, very poor room decoration and ridiculous, amateurish elecrical instalaion. Very tired decoration generally in the hotel and the exterior was not inviting from the road. The external menues had not been replaced and were very old and imposible to read. A sure indication that the owners do not care about encouraging walk in clients.

The hotel is a rural country inn surrounded on three sides by farm fields. The pool is very nice and well maintained. It was a hot day so the first thing we did after arriving at the hotel was to take a dip in the pool. Later the same day we had a beautifully presented and delicious meal on the patio of the restaurant. It was so quiet and peaceful that we could hear the flames of the hot air balloons floating by in the distance. The views are amazing! While we were eating outside on the patio, we had a view of the gardens of Marqueyssac and Castlenaud-la-chapelle. The menu was all from local farms. The owners Lydie and Giles were very kind and helpful. We took a train from Bordeaux to Sarlat and then a taxi to the hotel. Taxi service is difficult to use here. We had reservations to take a canoe trip down the Dordogne starting at Dome but no way to get there. Lydie tried four different taxi services and they were all not available. She then spoke with her husband Giles, who is also the chef, and he gave us a ride to Dome in his own car and refused to accept any money. While we were at Canoe Loisirs, Giles spoke to the manager and arranged for them to take us back to the hotel. It was very gracious of him to do that for us.

It's difficult to get there if you don't have a car. The water pressure in the shower was not the best and there was no air conditioning. With the windows open and the fan on, we slept comfortably. Also, the wifi is outdated and slow. Keep in mind that this is a small hotel in the French countryside. Any minor inconvenience was compensated with great service, fresh, delicious locally sourced food, a nice pool, and great views from the patio.

    the price

the room was too small. The bad sheet wasn't renewed after the former guests?

Nice swimming pool of a good size.

The hostess/owner had a completely intransigent and unsympathetic attitude towards my wife's medical requirement for gluten-free options. If you are Coeliac, do not book this hotel!

Good breakfast, very good dinner. Location is great to reach Beynac et Casenac. Free parking.

    No AC, no lift.

our room was on the third floor and had fabulous views of 2 of the 5 chateaus. the bed was comfortable and it was quiet. we used the pool after a long day driving and sightseeing and walkingwe had dinner the first night and the hotel and it was really lovely . The second night we went out to explore and had a very nice dinner in Beynac. the area is beautiful with lots of amazing villages to visit. recommend this place to stay.

Lovely staff, comfortable room. beautiful view and delicious food.

    Pleasant

First thing you have to know is that if you book your room by Booking you will have a nice room with road sight and, of course, road noise as they answer us when we asked a quiet room in the oppossite side (there were plenty of them avalaible).
