Riviera by Queens Hotel and Resort

Location was perfect, close to city center; very clean, parking excellent, very clean and full of facilities, nice welcoming staff, we really appreciate it, for who wants a quite place - this is the perfect place , and for sure we will be back

Location was good

Worst hotel night in our entire life until now. Outside was -7 Celsius. Radiators not heating at all, were totally cold, air conditioning was good enough only to heat to around 15 Celsius, in room wasn’t additional cover possibility, bathroom hasn’t any heating system so was below 10 Celsius, it was no hot water at all in bathroom so we couldn’t take any shower. Next morning we had to warm up our shirts and shoes at the poor air conditioning system to be able to wear them. We slept with hats on our had so cold was in the room. Next morning we renounced to take breakfast because the breakfast room was also very cold. Actually in this 4 star hotel didn’t work any powerful heating system. Total disaster. Definitely this hotel doesn’t deserve to exist in Booking.com inventory, it is a totally shame. We left the hotel next morning, dirty and frozen and without serving the breakfast. Shame to this hotel and shame to Booking.com to offer accommodation at this 4 star (???) hotel.

Beautiful hotel. Staff were really helpful and friendly especially the lady on reception who went out of her way to help us.Breakfast was lovely.The garden and pool area at the back of the hotel is well kept and really nice with views of the river and over to Serbia.Very large, comfortable bedroom with view of the garden, pool and river.Located centrally between Drobeta-Turnu-Severin and Orsova, had a lovely trip along the Danube from Orsova.

Initially, the location as it is a bit isolated but fine if you have a car as easy to get to Drobeta and Orsova. Also appears a bit industrial due to the power station and dam but once inside, it's so nice, quiet and well looked after, it doesn't matter, we really enjoyed our stay and would stay again.Bathroom - shower tray leaked and needed a bit of shower unblocker and a bit of a tidy up but good size and did the job!

Shower in room 6 was good preassure but felt weak under foot

The view from the garden was very nice, located very near Portile de Fier, the sunset was wonderful.

Foul smell of rotten fish coming from the bathroom; the room was full of dead bugs, spiders and flies, the mattress had horrible stains. The whole place is in need of a good cleaning. Definately not worth the money paid, would not recommend for more than one night (if you absolutely have to stay somewhere!)

Felt very empty, on June 1 there were no people, only few guests.

We stayed for one night on our way, so this stop was a really good choice for us. We got a late check in (very friendly man was waiting for us), parking place just in front of the door. The room was comfortable (very comfortable bed), windows overlooking the river. Decent breakfast and very friendly and helpful hotel personnel. We got a pre-warmed room (I saw other earlier comments on the cold room), so in our case this was taken care of , that shows that the hotel is trying to capture comments and improve. Additional point for this.

Very nice view! The staff was also nice.

There was no heating in our room, just the AC, which stopped working after 1,5 hours… in the morning there were 15 C degrees in the room. The bathroom would need some renovation.

If there was anything nice, it was the photos on the Booking.com presentation. But that was the end of it.

Instead of a receptionist some kind of night watchman without knowledge of any otěru languages than Romanian. Micro room, dirty bathroom in desperate need of renovation and breakfast was a gastronomic mistake.

It was close to the border where we wanted to be and had an outdoor pool.

We really wanted to like this hotel. We timed our stay with a wedding though and the music was really loud until very late which wasn’t great for us after a long day driving. The restaurant food wasn’t great and there was very limited options available from the menu for breakfast. The pool was nice but the area around it was starting to need attention.

They had a swimming pool opened for public. The facility is included in the room price. You can pay by credit card at the beach bar.

The location is isolated, near Portile de Fier I. You depend on them 100%. They lack on stuff for serving the meal or drinks by the pool.

The rooms are big enough with a nice view towards the Danube and Iron Gates. The personnel is very friendly

The restaurant is a joke. It has just a few possibilities to chose from. We had only breakfast, which was included and we had to wait for 90 minutes to get it.

Even it was pre-season, the staff was very friendly. They took good care of our bikes. Rooms been nice and spacious.

Unfortunately there was no dinner or breakfast during the time we were there. It took a little to get the shower warm.

The view is very nice (very close to the Portile de Fier). The staff was very friendly. The room was spacious and comfy and the breakfast was good.

Regarding the cleanliness, it could have been better.

Terrific potential but not taken advantage of. On the banks of the Danube with a lovely pool.

The staff tried to be helpful but had no idea how to look after guests. Breakfast was outside with initially no plates or cutlery. One poor chap had to go back and forth bringing out things for breakfast. Much the same for dinner. It took ages. The place was generally very tired with a number of items in poor repair.

The location overlooking the Danube and the Iron Gate.Beautiful sunset. Excellent place to explore the fantastic scenery along the Danube on both sides of the Valley.Nice Poolside. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful.We had just an overnight stay and travelled the next day over the Iron Gate into Serbia.

The Driveway to the Hotel looks neglected. It runs through an abandoned Fuel Station but it does not affect the location and the quality of the Hotel.

The room was a good size and the bed was extremely comfy. The outside pool is large and a great way to cool on hot days.Good view of the Danube and Iron Gates.

There is no socket near the bed, making charging phones at night extremely difficult. There was only 1 free socket in the entire room (and that considering that the fridge was not plugged in when we arrived).For hot water, we needed to leave the water running for about 15-20 minutes.Overall, not a great value / quality ratio.

The staff were very friendly, helping and assisting us all the time. The breakfast was excellent. The pool was very good and the water was warm. Sitting in the garden seeing the Danube was a pure delight and very pleasurable, the room was very clean. The reception staff were excellent and very accomadating and extremely helpful.

We arrived late and we did not have a complimentary tray in the room,( kettle biscuits coffee milk). Unable to make cup of tea.
