- First off we called and waited 45 minutes for someone to answer the hotel ringer to let us in. Beds were comfy but heater did not work and we froze our butts off all night. Contemplated to sleep in warm van

Location, helpful staff
It’s old building on the river with train right under the window. . So smell and noise was a little bit disturbing.
The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, letting us drop off our luggage and then placing it in our room before we came back. The breakfast was very good - the typical German breakfast of eggs, bacon, breads, cereal, yogurt, and several fresh vegetables. The location is perfect, 10 minutes from the train station and most parts of the city.
The noise from the trains, which are about 30 feet from the room, was sort of loud, and continued in the night.
This was a charming old hotel right across from the Rhine river. It was picturesque. Rooms were comfortable. You are right next to the train track which can be loud, but once you closed the windows it was silent. We slept very well there. Breakfast was amazing and coffee was excellent. The cute couple that own it were very hospitable and assisted you in any way they could. We will definitely stay there again.
Location is right next you the train track, but they also provided a fan to help with white noise.
Like staying in an old castle. Very cool!
Everything was great. Couple that runs it were very sweet and made sure we had what we needed.
Very friendly staff. Ask for room 8 - you have a 12th century castle out one window and the river and gate to the city out the other!
The building was medieval and very much in the style of the town, which is a lovely old wine-making town full of cafés, restaurants and pubs. As it was a part of the wall fortifications, I had high expections. Breakfast was passable. There was a selection of things to eat, but not a wide selection. The hotel is directly beside (almost on top of) the train tracks,so trains rush and rumble by regularly. We had breakfast on Sunday morning and there was less traffic, so that was OK.
The hotel is very centrally located, only a short walk from the boat which we had taken from Koblenz. The building is old and quirky but a little musty. The first room we were in was ar ground level with the train tracks. We were so annoyed with the noise that we asked for a room on the other side of the hotel and that room was fine. The furnishings were a little hodge podge. The hotel is run by a Vietnamese family and they are very friendly but unfortunately know no English and very little German. Communication was though a translattion device.
We stayed for one night. Our room had a view of the river. It was clean and just as stated. Great location, we walked everywhere.
You are right next to the train line so you know when every train arrives. This was not a problem with us and did not keep us awake. Everything was just as stated.
Nice breakfast and good location.
Bathroom was tight and awkward.
The property is beautiful, located on a quaint cobblestone street. A nice, comfortable room close to any where in Bacharach you'd want to go. Short walk from train station.
The location in town centre within walking distance of restaurants / bars and the train station. Breakfast was varied and delicious. Bedroom was clean and comfortable. Tang greeted us on arrival and assisted us with luggage. Check in and check out was easy and quick. The building is beautiful and historic. Tang was on hand for all our needs. We cannot recommend this hotel enough.
We don’t have any complaints
The hotel is located in one of the guard towers of the ancient city wall. You can walk along the wall with river view. Restairant a minute away. Friendly host was as helpful and obliging as could be. Thanks.
It was low season. We were the sole guests so it was like being in an empty house. It didn't matter as spent our time sightseeing. Probably a lot more lively when full of guests.
our host made us an excellent breakfast. he was very polite and accomodating
everything was great
Nice breakfast. Close to the train station. Lovely staff. The hotel has a lot of character and charm. The cost was good for the area.
As an older couple, the winding stairs were doable but a bit challenging. The owners/staff were nice, but we did have a language barrier. The trains come by the window 24 hours a day. We didn't think that would bother us but it did. Use earplugs I guess.
This hotel appears to be in an historic building which made it interesting. The hotel staff was very nice and the breakfast was very good. Would love to have learned about the history of the hotel.
The room needed some updating and we were disappointed that they no longer serve dinner.
“The location was great. The terrace was fantastic. The breakfast was good.”
Wonderful location. Walkable from the train station and to restaurants and businesses in town. Breakfast was delicious, the room was more spacious than I expected. We had a great stay and I can’t wait to return!
It sounds cheesy, but the only thing I didn't like was that we didn't have room in our schedule to stay longer.
