Pros +
- Very nice location. Close walk from train station and boat docks
- Great location in a lovely quiet village. The rooms were modern neat and spotless. Breakfast was good but we thought included. Turns out not so expensive for what we had.
- Great location, staff was very helpful, good breakfast
Cons -
- Not really. Pretty standard for a European style B&B.
- Hard to get in lock boxes to get our room keys. We just found out we were charged twice for the room, by priceline and the hotel.
- No staff when we checked in. No note to tell us how to use the door lock which looked like it needed a PIN but just needed a fob. Question sent in English to host to help was responded in German.

Great location, staff was very helpful, good breakfast
All good
The buffet breakfast was excellent. It had good coffee and a delicious selection of cheese, meat and fresh vegetables and fruit. I especially liked the tomatoes with mozzarella and balsamic reduction. The freshly baked, hot buns were perfect.
Please put 2 glasses in the room for taking meds and brushing teeth.
The staff was incredibly helpful and kind, the brealfast buffet was excellent and old world charm of this German hotel had nice character and immaculately clean
The weather! Cycling in rain but what a wonderful warm welcome here :)
The location is fantastic, right in the center of Bacharach. The entire place was clean, great breakfast and the staff is very nice and helpful. I will stay here the next time. Our room was very large.
Location, on-site manager
Some noisy guests, no lift
This was the most charming stay in Bacharach. It is right in the center of the small town, a few minutes walk from the train station. The owners are very nice and allowed us to store our bags for a few hours after check-out. The room was great, so spacious and clean with plenty of seating and a comfortable bed.
Great breakfast. Staff was VERY friendly and accommodating. We arrived on a very hot day and she moved us to a room with air conditioning and also offered an alternative option in case that room was still too hot. I would highly recommend staying here. Also a great location.
Nothing. It was a great place to stay.
I loved the location and value of this hotel! I only paid maybe $90 for one night (breakfast buffet cost about $15). The hotel is right in the heart of Bacharach. I appreciated that they took credit card since most of the city does not. It's also very close to the train station . It was also literally just down the street from the K-D ferry port. The room was comfortable and clean with respect to what I paid for. Some reviews will say the hotel is right by the train tracks, but honestly I slept just fine, the train did not keep me up. The lady at the desk was so helpful! She didn't speak English, but she was so dedicated to ensuring I was comfortable regardless and patient with me while I learned how to use their unique door locking system.
I wish there was AC, the room got a little hot. Breakfast could have been better, but it was fine.
The place was clean, the staff were so friendly. I thought it was an excellent value. The breakfast was good and they were attentive to what guests selected. The beds were comfortable. Trains were a little loud with the windows open at night, but I know it was less so for us than other places in town. We all loved it and would go back again. It was semi updated, but it is small town Europe and I wasn’t expecting or looking for the ultra modern hotel experience. We loved it.
This was an adorable hotel right in the center of Bacharach.Lovely welcoming woman at the desk who was very helpful. Clean comfortable room. Delicious breakfast. No on site parking but public parking close by for small charge daily.
Not a problem for us but our room quite a few flights of stairs up.
I liked the value, and the old school nostalgia of the building. The room was exceptionally large by German standards, and the water pressure in the shower the highest this trip.
I was very disappointed in the town. I was shocked by the disrepair and lack of business downtown. After visiting Rudesheim last March, and taking the ferry this trip to Kaub, I am definitely seeing a trend in river towns, much like in the US. Very transitory culture and far lower standards on maintenance. As for the facility, it should have been attended, as we had unruly guests partying well past midnight and waking this otherwise sound sleeper. I was also accosted by the Apoteke clerk when I returned to but something for change for the parking meter. He was sure to tell me that I should have not parked in front of the Hotel to unload. Although many did, I guess he has an axe to grind. Not in the "save our town" mindset at all.
The hotel is centrally located & the staff is outstanding! The room was spacious and spotlessly clean with newer towers! The beds are very comfortable, and the shower water pressure is phenomenal!
Everything was great!
The counter staff (Maria) and her colleague were friendly and helpful.
No lift
I liked the location. Close to bakery, gelato store, good restaurants. The room and bathroom were very clean and airy. . We had a secure place to keep our bikes.
There was very rarely any staff around. There wasn’t a lift and we had to go to the 5th floor carrying up our suitcases. I went to have a shower our first day and there was about a tablespoon of body wash left. Couldn’t find anyone to get a replacement. Luckily we travel with small amounts of our own product. There were two beside tables and lamps. My lamp didn’t have a light. So my suitcase was in shadows all the time. Towels were never changed nor the bathroom cleaned during our two days and two nights stay.
Comfortable spacious room in central position
Had trouble with the door lock
Great room size with a corner table and chairs at the window overlooking the quaint street. No noise from the street! Quiet and relaxing location with charm.
