Hotel Steinbock

Location! Right next to the lauterbrunnen train station, and murrenbahn cable car station. Staff are friendly, and the included breakfast was very good.

Room was very small and dingy. Wifi was off for most of our stay, and we found bedbugs in the mattress! Would NOT recommend this place.

Spotless and comfortable room, delicious big breakfast, beautiful view- it was the perfect place to stay in Lauterbrunnen.

Excellent and convenient location next to train, bus, and gondola. Room was very clean. Larger bathroom than our other hotels on this trip. The breakfast was very good - bacon & eggs, meat & cheese, fruit. Loved it. And the staff was very helpful & friendly.

Beautiful location. 1 minute to property beside the train station. Their restaurant food is amazing. Close to Stauchbach falls and church. Overall a good place to stay. Room is spacious clean with clean bathroom. Amazing breakfast.

Rooms better than expected. Recently remodeled. Awesome view. Excellent location. Kind staff. Next time I come back to Switzerland, I would rather return there instead of staying somewhere else.

The glass from the bathroom should be totally opaque.

A decent hotel with amazing mountain views and a great breakfast selection. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always available when needed. The location is excellent—right in the heart of town, just a few steps from the local station and the lifts, making it very convenient for getting around. Overall, a comfortable and well-situated place to stay.

Convenient to train station, beds were comfortable and the breakfast had plenty of options such as fresh fruit, local cheeses, deli meats, yogurts, homemade breads, cereals, bacon and eggs…delicious!! Restaurant at night offered the most delicious Schnitzel…we went back for more the next day!

Hotel Steinbeck was perfect for our four-day stay in Lauterbrunnen. Contrary to some negative reviews we found the room clean and the bathroom more than adequate - good water pressure and hot water in the shower. We typically do not require our room to be serviced during our stay - when we saw housekeepers in the hall, they gladly switched our towels for fresh ones. The bed was comfortable, but the large floofy pillows, not so much. Our room had a sweet little balcony overlooking the train station - a great vantage point for people watching and views across the valley. Speaking of convenience - the train station, cable car, bank and bus stop are literally right outside the door. Breakfasts were good with a selection for most every taste. We had most dinners at the hotel - the staff were very helpful and the menu was good - with wild game dishes as a specialty.

The view was spectacular, the location was perfect, the room was great and the restaurant was good and convenient.

The location is very close to the train station. We stayed in a different building from the website picture, it was still good and safe. The room was very cozy and with nice balcony view. The breakfast was very good.

Pretty tight in the room and bathroom. The neds were extremly hard and the balcony view was largely blocked by an overgrown plant.

Yet, the staff and manager at Hotel Steinbock went above and beyond to ensure it was safely returned to us. Their kindness, honesty, and dedication were absolutely remarkable—and deeply appreciated.In a world where such genuine helpfulness is rare, their actions left a lasting impression on me. Whenever I return to Lauterbrunnen, there’s no question—I’ll be staying at Hotel Steinbock again and again.

There is absolutely nothing that I can fault about this Hotel. Everything was amazing!

Easy access to the train station and sights. Lockers at the train station made a day trip easy.
