    Pros +

    • Snow was absolutely amazing, and the resort being all inclusive with meals was key, since it’s so far away from anything else.
    • Food was great. appreciate that they changed up the buffet menu somewhat. I also appreciated the tattoo friendly onsen.
    • Very nice ski-in ski out resort with great views from the room. The all inclusive breakfast and dinner are super good with many variety of dishes. Really enjoyed it every day for four days and they change the menu items on the daily basis. The room size is good with comfortable beds.

    Cons -

    • Pillows were a little firm for my liking, but that’s about it.
    • The WIFI is terrible. Front desk said "when the hotel is full the wifi gets slow". Well, if you already knew that, you should be upgrading your wifi system to handle a full house. Many of us need wifi to do business while we're on vacation. Ticketing system is a bit antiquated with the paper tickets and clips but it worked out.
    • The hotel is 1 hour away from the airport since it is a ski resort in the mountain. It used to provide a shuttle service, now rely on taxi. It would be good if the hotel can help arrange transportation with a fee. Also, there is a very short walk between the gondola and the hotel. It would be nice to build a covered corridor so that we don't have to trek in heavy snows.

Second consecutive year coming back to Rockwood for the skiing season. Once again enjoyed every bit of our stay. Hotel is nothing fancy but everything is carefully thought through to make your stay comfortable and convenient. Buffet choices are abundant and tasty. Not to mention the adjacency to ski rental and gondola, literally at door step, making the whole experience perfect. Lift is never busy but snow is beyond awesome.

The location was good. The hot spring was great.

The front desk staff did not speak Japanese when checking in. They spoke Enhlish or Chinese. We booked for 3 people, but there were only 2 sets of amenities in the room.

Beautiful and isolated! The room was comfortable and the food was delicious! We enjoyed our visit!

Hotel staff, facilities and also breakfast / dinner, we enjoyed staying for 2 nights in Mid Aug and wish to retrurn again in Autumn :)

We accidentally left a luggage at the property and Hana S. helped us recovered the luggage and sent it back at airport the next day. Great experience so far!

Dinner and breakfast had excellent choices. We all loved the Aomori Apple sorbet, juice, jam and apple pizza! The views from our window, the corridor windows and the dining room. The Onsen, yukata and iced water.Ping pong and X boxTables in reception to chat and play cards. The staff were lovely.

No bar, which was a shame. A drink would have been nice in the evening. We stayed longer in the dining room to have a drink. Not a great atmosphere for eating / drinking. Possibly thought about lighting and music would help.Very expensive to play pool.

Fabulous view and our executive room was spacious

Bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. They had put a topper on it but made no difference. Did not sleep well.

    7MatthewPosted on: 4-18-2025

    Great location

Only access was by taxi or hire car.Buffet dinner was ordinary

    10SelinaPosted on: 3-24-2025

The hotel met our expectations, whilst rustic around the edges, the room had all the facilities we required. The beds were comfortable and the buffet offered great options that met my dietaries requirements (gluten free.) The onsite onsen was a great respite at the end of the day and it was also fun to have the karaoke bar for a bit of entertainment. The ski lockers were also a great

The rooms are a bit more rustic than pictured and we were unable to adjust the heating (it was hot!)

    7RaelenePosted on: 3-23-2025

A good spread of food choices and the food was fresh and we love the dessert.

If the choices of food could change to add more variation like Shabu Shabu, or kaiseki will be good too.

    6JonellPosted on: 3-12-2025

Half board breakfast and dinner was good value

No coffee shop and limited food options if you did not do the half board

    9SeanPosted on: 3-12-2025

The staffs are all very nice and welcoming, I enjoyed my time there very very much!

Probably a little bit old for TV, and facility. But everything is comfortable and clean.

    2AnthonyPosted on: 3-10-2025

Cold eggs and bacon every day with a massive line up.Dinner queues were larger than Niseko's gondola line on a powder day.

The heating could have been better throughout the hotel.Had the feeling of a place going broke.

    8SamanthaPosted on: 3-4-2025

Isolated little resort that offered a good variety of facilities for a short stay (would have stayed longer if powder is on the mountain) Ski staff and food service staff very helpful and friendly. Resort staff ok.

No shuttle service offered. (we hired a car and did some sightseeing on the way)Only one washer and clothes dryer.

My wife and I stayed here in early February and had an excellent stay. We were blessed with outstanding snowfall during our stay and so the whole vibe of the hotel and other guests was very upbeat. The facilties are great and the onsen bath is outstanding. The rooms and beds are comfortable and like many Japanese ski resorts you have to create your own entertainment of an evening. The breakfast and dinner are both buffet style and we enjoyed all our meals. We stayed 6 nights and the variety of meals was starting to wear a little thin, but generally the food was of high quality. The staff were excellent and there was always someone on hand who spoke English , because our Japanes language skills are very bad. This is a genuine ski in ski out location with a ski locker room which has direct access to the slopes.A very well run hotel with good facilities.

Half board with Great food and close to the chair lift. If taking lesson from the ski resort, please request for hiro-san.

Table tennis facilities is not well kept.
