    Pros +

    • Breakfast buffer was OK but not great. Dinner was very good with a variety of dishes. Overall it was a very good stay. Shuttle bus from and to the station was quick. Our private guided tour around the Juniko Lakes was excellent. It is not a hotel but guests have their own cabin. The cabins are spread around the property. Very attractive area. Would be good in spring, summer or fall.
    • Easy access to enjoy beautiful foliage near lakes and forestFood is more than our expectations, very good
    • Free shuttle bus service made everything easier, and the cabins were spacious, and luxurious. We luckily got the closest cabin, from the central point but I can imagine the walk being tiring if it was further. We spotted 2-3 bugs in the cabin, but that's a given and cannot complain. Otherwise, it was very clean and maintained, the bug problem wasn't as prevalent as I expected.

    Cons -

    • Heater in the cabin was too smelly.
    • Sometimes too windy and chilly but acceptable since it’s nature. we got some rainBut shuttle driver was very professional to deal with it that we enjoyed walking around lakes.
    • i had around 20 stink bugs in my room. spent half the day catching them and then there were more the next day

Cottage was nice and clean. Staff was brilliant and also the trekking was very nice experience

At night cannot sleep properly because of the bug issue. It flies all over you and it stinks. I had to sleep in the couch because that was the only place that bugs were not coming.

They picked us up from the station which was about an hour away due to train cancellations. This was great and the check in staff were super kind. The cottage itself is a decent size and the beds were comfortable.

The food was pretty ordinary. They delivered it to our room which was disappointing given we’d read good things about the restaurant. It could have been because there was hardly anyone staying there so they decided to room delivery was easier. In particular, the hot pot for dinner they served was not good. The dessert too looked like the apples were off. The following morning they also insisted on taking us to the train station 5 mins away at the scheduled time despite the train being delayed by nearly 2 hours. Both the check out staff woman and the driver were unfriendly and not interested in helping. All in all If recommend other options.

A Lovely place to be, basically a tiny hot spring resort of everything. The resort offers free shuttle service to Juniko and JR Station and the driver also serves as a tour guide along the way. Breakfast and dinner may not be fancy but still tasty. You also get to try local beer and apple cider in the shop. We loved the cottage and beautiful sunset. Pity that the sky was not clear enough for star gaze, otherwise it would have been a perfect stay.

Clean, spacious rooms and amenities all provided. Breakfast and dinner provided were also above average. Value for money if you are a family. Free shuttle pick up based on your arrival offers good flexibility.

Spacious cottage. Dinner served at restaurant is superb. Breakfast is buffet style. Enjoyed the bath a lot

The room at the ground floor could do better with an aircon

Super friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful landscape.

The public bath is a bit far away.

Location is very close to Juniko. Unit is spacious and clean, friendly staff and amazing dinner. There is an observatory within the area, absolutely beautiful sunset view from there. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed in one of the chalets which was large and very well equipped with parking right in front of the chalet. Just a short drive to the Juniko lakes. Booking plan included dinner and breakfast l. The set dinner menu was amazing with a large range of Japanese hot and cold dishes.

The location is a bit far away from the train station, but they were great about arranging a shuttle pickup and drop-off. I was there in the off-season, so I was almost alone in the entire complex, and I had an entire 4-bed bungalow to myself. But the highlights were the amazing 6-course dinners and the excellent breakfasts that came with the bungalow. Definitely overshot my expectations.

The location is a bit remote, so there isn't much else around. But it's great if you're there to hike and enjoy the nature, which is sort of the point.

Conveniently located right in the world heritage Shirakami-Sanchi, great for exploring the many lakes and mountains in the area. Staff was very accommodating, room I stayed in (Japanese style) was superb, and the food was exceptional!
