Central, accessible, affordable, clean, modern, cozy, gets the job done, AC works

Can’t open the window to ventilate fresh air in such a small space.

The staff and location were wonderful, but we were surprised to find that the bed was simply a mattress on the floor. It wasn’t a futon, but it was still difficult for me, as an older person, to get up from. I double-checked the booking, and there was no indication that it wouldn’t be a standard bed.

Nice compact room and little cafe bar downstairs is a pleasant location to spend an evening

Have to be a little careful if you're tall in 6ft and my feet hang out the end of the bed, fine if you're solo and can sleep crosswise but I'd be wary if you're any taller or have two in the room

Cozy, newly renovated, in the city centre

The challenge is that the reception is at one location and the actual accommodation is in another building nearby. If I didn't do my research, I'd be confused about the whole thing. I suggest this information to be included upon the guest's booking or before they commit to the booking.

A tad more amenities would be nice. Everything is very basic.

They partner with farmers and bakeries to provide very delicious and local food. Also, it was super clean and stylish.

Very clean and quite sound proof

The lack of a lounge area for guests. My stay coincided with a pop up, which occupied the entire lobby area where the chairs are at. And there was no space for staying guests, except for a tiny pantry area on the 5th level which did not have proper tables for working/reading. I was offered an alternative space a few minutes walk away in a did building, but it just was not the same as lounging in the same space that you’ve paid for. Considerations should be given to cater to staying guests’ needs too. We should not just be offered a bed space. Price for this hostel bed is also on the higher end and for this price I would expect towels to be provided - but that is also chargeable.

I really loved the place, it had great atmosphere. I stayed in the compact room, but the space was well planned and I felt quite comfortable. Walking distance to the station, and an amazing amount of bars and restaurants in the neighborhood (and one in the hotel, too). Do recommend!

The bed was just long enough for me and I'm 165 cm. I'm not sure if anyone much taller than me would be OK. You can shift a position of the mattress a little (it partially can hide in the bed-rest portion), but then you lose some extra space for your things.

I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Nupka. The bar/cafe uses local products and has a great craft beer selection. The staff are wonderful - one amazing woman went out of her way to call around to find a hospital that would accept me afterhours when I discovered some mysterious wounds from a biking accident. Thanks for everything - this place rocks!!

Everything was fabulous.

The location is great! Very close to the station. The hotel also has a bar and cafe inside which has great food. On some days there is also a horse-pulled moving bar departing from the hotel. This is the place to stay in Obihiro.

Great location, near to the JR station and across from a Lawson. Cafe in the bottom is cute and the staff are great. The rooms were clean and nice, albeit a little warm.

The lounge on the top floor is not very cozy

Nice cafe lounge in lobby with craft beer and quality coffees. Super helpful manager giving advise although the Lake shikaribetsu was closed I did enjoy the bus ride there and the onsen he recommended was so good!

Lounge to eat up on fifth floor

I traveled alone and booked a bunk in a dormitory.I appreciated the curtains on the side and at the foot of the bunk to give a little more privacy. The shared bathrooms and showers were always very clean, the cafe's food was good (if a little pricey) and the staff was wonderful. Breakfast included is definitely the way to go.

The dormitory was a little cramped, but that was to be expected. The ventilation in the dormitory wasn't the best, but there's only so much HVAC can do against a gaggle of solo travelers. I'm glad I had the foresight to bring my own towel because you have to pay for those, too.

There is 1 young lady staff do the bad customer service, not greeting, small voice maybe she is new but her attitude was disappointing

The location, the cleanliness and value for money far exceeded my expectations. Great use of space in the rooms. The most important was thew friendliness and accommodating nature of the staff. I only stayed one night but felt like an extended part of the family member when I left.
