    Pros +

    • The hotel owner, Ilker made our stay unforgettable. He got to know us like family. Ilker was very personable, extremely knowledgeable and willing to help plan/navigate accomplishing our itinerary. An added bonus, was he spoke perfect English. We enjoyed taking public transit to Ephesus and Sirince Village. He helped us book a private ride to Pamukkale and ended up driving us himself, after the driver's family emergency cancelled our ride. We are so thankful for his insights and the all the meaningful conversations. Nothing beats the complimentary traditional Turkish breakfast that included fruit, veggies, eggs and honey from Ilker's own farm, in addition to cheeses, bread and homemade cake.
    • Excellent location. The hotel is a short walk to restaurants, the Efes Museum and the Selçuk train and bus stations. The staff is friendly the owner was very helpful and gave us advise on where to eat, what to see and what type of ticket to purchase to see the Ephesus Archeological Site, and different museums. The hotel offers a traditional Turkish breakfast (kahvalti), consisting of a hard-boiled egg, bread, cheeses, olives, cucumbers and various spreads, The hotel has a pool although we didn't get to use it because we had a full day of sightseeing.
    • The owner is a fun, kind, and helpful guy. He gives great advice and will go out of his way to help you. He is straightforward about issues you'll encounter and will give you straightforward solutions.

    Cons -

    • No refrigerator in the room. Hard mattress. The area of the hotel is in a poor but apparently safe neighborhood.
    • The rooms are not the best. Theyre worn down with age. They need a remodeling and updating. but you get what you pay for considering the cost is less than many nearby hotels. I'd still recommend it. I slept fine.
    • Everything was perfect.

The property was easy walking distance to restaurants and the bus depot for Ephesus. The host was very accommodating and provided us with helpful tips for the area. The pool is an absolute bonus on a hot day. Clean and relaxing. The breakfast was good. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

We stayed at Hotel Nazar for 5 days and it was the best decision we made for our trip to Selçuk. Ilker and his family were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. They helped us plan our visit to Ephesus and other local monuments, and even recommended the best places to eat. The hotel is well located at a walkable distance to all services, restaurants and many manuments, the room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, the shower had good pressure and hot water, and the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended!

    Everything was perfect.

It was an excellent location and the staff were informative and friendly. Elker, the gentleman working the majority of the time was very helpful planning my excursions and spoke excellent English!

The bed was very stiff and I frequently woke up with shoulder and back pain. I’m an easy sleeper, but that bed was hard as a rock!

Very kind owners and staff; Turkish breakfast served fresh on the terrace overlooking the Castle

Very friendly landlord who speaks perfect English. He is willing to help you with advice where to eat and what to see. The property is very nicely decorated. The swimming pool is very clean and refreshing. There is a big closed parking by the hotel.

    Nothing not to like.

Staff provided excellent suggestions to all sites. Yummy breakfast. Large comfortable room, pool, and courtyard . Close to all locations.

The hotel staff were sweet and accommodating. They were eager to help with early checkout and offered recommendations for restaurants in the area. Super sweet pets around as well.

Location could have been a bit better but this would not change the decision to stay here. It is an affordable place to rest after a full day of tours and also has an amazing view of the castle on the terrace.

    Breakfast is very basic

Breakfast was the best fresh fruit tasty jams great coffee

    Bed was a bit hard

It’s very clean. The reception lady and the cook are very nice. They give us very good service.

There’s no rubbish bin in the room, only one in the toilet. Hanging places are not enough in the washing room.

    9TamaraPosted on: 9-5-2024

The pool with a view and the staff were fabulous. Staying in Selçuk proper and being so close to so many attractions is well worth it. Plus, cold water can be purchased at minimart prices from the lobby which is life saving in the heat of summer.

Bed hardness was not my favourite. The bathroom had a well-used shower door that was a little tricky to operate.

Fantastic value stay in central Selçuk. The owners were remarkably warm and helpful, they have fabulous local recommendations and were super accomodating with our early departure on our final day. The pool area is gorgeous. Breakfast on the rooftop was lovely too, with a wonderful view to the castle. Rooms are very clean and the whole hotel is cheerfully decorated.

Hotel is in a slightly shabby residential area, so views from the rooms aren’t great — but it’s only a few minutes walk to the centre of town. We were in a top floor bedroom and the sound of chairs on the rooftop was noisy above us — but that’s a small price to pay for the wonderful service and good price point.

Location is good, close to Ephesus. The staff of the hotel is super friendly and helpful.

The hotel facility is old and simple.

Everything here is fabulous. We were warmly welcomed and given excellent information, above and beyond expectations. Our hosts were so helpful with all our questions and gave us such useful tips and recommendations which we used and were delighted with. The rooms are beautiful and feel very traditional and authentic. The breakfast was the best of our holiday, and the hosts were so generous with their time and even gave us a present when my husband complimented their homemade jam.
