    • The room is very clean. Their staffs are very polite and accommodating. Free breakfast is a bonus. We enjoyed our stay.
    • It is a short walk from the train station with luggage. A special bonus is free breakfast included, which is the only hotel for our two-week trips in Japan. There were many opinions. We were able to self-lock our luggage after check-out.

    Cons -

    • Not a fan of the firm beds.
    • The beds were hard.
    • Breakfast was crowded and could have been better.

Excellent location from railway station, very clean and large rooms. Well equipped. A reasonable breakfast was provided free of charge.

    The beds were hard.

    9AndrewPosted on: 6-7-2025

Great location with friendly staff and large room with good view.

Breakfast was crowded and could have been better.

The location was close to the station and a nice 15-minute or so walk to Himeji Castle and Koko-en. The room was clean, the shower was nice, and the breakfast was free and tasty. Self-storage lockers were life-savers. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The bed was too hard for me. My husband found it better than the futon at our previous stay (a ryokan), but I was the opposite. Being almost 6 months pregnant, laying on my side in this bed hurt far more than the futon at the ryokan did.

The location is great and near a bunch of good places to eat. The beds are tall, so you can put your luggage under them to maximize walking/room space.

I had to pay for bath towels for my children. Even though I had them accounted for on the reservation.

Close to the station, easy to find, great location to restaurants and shops. Good breakfast and friendly/helpful staff. Can leave luggage locked after check out while still sightseeing.

Room slightly small but overall good accommodation. Bed was a tad hard for my liking.

Toyoko hotel was a typical sized Japanese hotel. We rented two rooms to host four people. The check in process was via consul, but the staff were there to help keep the check in process going. The hotel is very close to the Himeji station (5-8 minute walk) and a 15 minute walk from the Himeji castle. We were lucky enough to be there for the cherry blossoms and the associated festival. We found the included breakfast to be robust offering mostly Japanese fair, but they had pastries and some other options Western like options including eggs (rolled in a Japanese fashion) and sausages. The breakfast was buffet style and the cooks on site were very friendly. I noted that foreigners were the minority at the breakfast, and I got the sense that this hotel chain is popular with Japanese business people. We did find the beds to be on the hard side and on the uncomfortable side for those with hips. However, I would definitely book with them again.

Good hotel with access to car parking in multi level carpark on site. Breakfast was asian, but surprisingly good (our brain thinks we're eating lunch or dinner for breakfast)

Beds a little harder than usual.

Great location, very clean, breakfast was stupendous.

I would get occasional whiffs of something musty, but we never tracked down what it was

I actually booked this place for three nights, but ended up cancelling because the hotel is very smoking friendly. I would’ve preferred a little more advance warning about exactly how much smoking there was as I am a non-smoker. It also really frustrated me that when I specifically filtered out smoking rooms, this hotel kept popping up. I’m not sure if this is their problem or a Booking.com problem, but I really was frustrated with my experience. The staff did their best to help, but I was still charged an entire night, even though I didn’t stay in the hotel.

Good and delicious breakfast. We could store our baggages before checking in and after checking out so that we could spend more time around Himeji.

Good location. Within walking distance to train station and eateries and lots of shopping outlets.

    Breakfast area was too crowded

    9DanielPosted on: 3-12-2025

The hotel is very comfortable and very very convenient to the train station and the bus station. The breakfast was good. I also like the bilingual TV and their amenities like the small refrigerator and safe are very good.

The room is not exceptionally large, but it is okay

    9RichardPosted on: 2-23-2025

Generous breakfast, kind and helpful employees, very consistent service. Close to Himeji JR train station making it perfect for exploring the region.

    9MagdalénaPosted on: 12-29-2024

Room, breakfast, view, convenient location next to the Himeji station and close to Himeji Castle and a bus stop to Engyoji. Very kind staff and great overall experience.

The passing train can be heard even on 13th floor, but it wasn't something that would bother me too much. But consider it if you want to make a reservation here.

    Good

No parking. The acception staff and staff for breakfast are very rude.

    8SyPosted on: 12-19-2024

Twin Room for 2 nights. The room was a standard twin room, big enough as we had no big luggage. Beds were very firm. Breakfast was good, of course japanese style. Not many amenities in the room, but everything you might need is available at front desk.Locaton is good, just a short walk from the station. Be aware that there are two Toyoko Inns on every side of the station.

A few minutes from JR Himeji station and bus terminal. It is within walking distance from Himeji Castle too. The room is spacious.

I can hear the train from my room. There is no Youtube on TV. I had a hard time getting the right water temperature for shower. Glad I only stayed for one night.
