Mike's Dauin Dive Resort

We stayed for 7 nights at Mikes, and did 11 dives with them around Dauin and at Apo Island. From the moment we arrived we felt very welcome by the friendly and caring staff. The dive guides and boat crew were excellent, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience and didn't lift a finger. We dived with Raul who worked tirelessly to find interesting critters, and there was never really a dull moment. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and surroundings were well maintained with a nice pool. Food at Mikes was great and very good value, and service was excellent throughout. Bonus points for the sweet dogs that lived there! Right on the beach, and close to other restaurants in Dauin.

Water pressure in the shower wasn't amazing, especially post diving, and the wifi was sometimes slow.

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout our stay. We were primarily there for scuba diving, and the boat crew and divemasters were excellent— knowledgeable, fun, and safety-focused, which helped us feel comfortable the entire time. We also enjoyed getting to know other divers; since the resort is small, it was easy to connect with other guests over breakfast, dinner, or by the pool in the afternoons.Breakfast was good, though the included "free" options were a bit limited so by the last day we wanted to order something on the full menu.The property itself was very clean, and the food was consistently good. You can tell the owner, Mike, really cares about his staff and the property. Overall, we had everything we needed on-site and rarely felt the need to leave the resort. It was a great experience and we’d happily return.

Pretty good location and food is quite affordable and delectable. Beach area is super clean.

1. No complimentary toiletries and slippers. No fridge in the room.2. Lots of mosquitoes in the restaurant/al fresco dining area even at daytime.3. The pool has a lot of floating insects.4. All the staff were nice and approachable except one. The overnight staff/guard is very very ill-tempered and rude.

The dive center is very professional, focused on Muck diving & Macro which isn’t my favorite but for those who do, great place. The resort itself is nice with affluent vegetation, a nice swimming pool. The staff is incredibly nice and welcoming.

The restaurant is good and reasonably priced, but wait time is a problem, up to 50mn waiting for our order. We booked the villa but regretted it a bit. The trade off is only one bathroom for 2 rooms for a coffee maker, a washing machine, a large kitchen and living room we had no use for since there is no where to shop for groceries nearby to cook. There was also a persistent smell in one of the rooms which was supposedly a new furniture… despite trying to address with the staff.. we lived thru a piss-line smell for a week.

Mike’s Resort was such a nice place. Clean, comfortable, incredible staff. Being a brand new visitor there the Philippines, I would have liked to see more Filipino foods options on the menu. And this isn’t a negative necessarily but something to be aware of, they try to keep an extremely quiet atmosphere here. My friend’s family was there, and they asked that the kids not make any noise. So maybe don’t bring kids. This is more of a retirement home vibe.

My friend and I really enjoyed our 4-night stay at Mike's. They were very responsive when I messaged them through Booking.com before the trip. I appreciated how clean the resort was and the friendliness of the staff. We were in Dauin for diving, and it was extremely convenient to stay at Mike's and do our diving through the resort. We did 3 days of diving there - one of them off Apo. Our guides were Jury (a freelance guide) and Ace, and they were both great. Ace had a GoPro and was so kind as to share photos/video from our dives with us. There's a restaurant on site, but if you walk ~10 minutes, you can go dine along the main street in town. Definitely would recommend staying at this resort, especially if you'll be diving.

Nothing we enjoyed everything

I couldn’t recommend staying at mikes enough. The whole atmosphere is super chilled out, everyone is so friendly and because it’s a small resort you get to know the staff and feels like a big family. Also met the owner Mike who was very hospitable and took time to chat to guests. The five sites around mikes were amazing also with great dive boats and 3 dives a day

Nothing couldn’t fault it

Its great resort, especially staff is diving centre is amazing and helpfull. We have done a lot of dives and enjoy each of them. Beach was very nice with clean water and very fine sand.

Room looks on the pictures a bit bigger than in reality. I would prefer to have a fridge instead of TV :-)

Lovely small dive resort on the beach. Very friendly and welcoming. Very professional dive team including boat team. Chester, the Resort Manager was very helpful, informed and nothing was too much trouble. Diving was exactly what we wanted, muck diving for beautiful small marine creatures with the option of day trips to Apo Island where the coral was some of the healthiest I’ve seen.

This is a class act operation. Great staff, very caring and capable dive guides, food was tasty, and room was pleasant. I would stay here again!

Breakfast choices could be a little better.

It was comfortable. No frills, no pretensions. Only 12 rooms so it felt intimate and personal. Chester the manager and the staff were all very warm and welcoming. Food was good. We all had a great time.
