    • Great location & nice rooms

    Cons -

    • I would say the beach ain’t so good. They have a lot of stones and weeds. Best to bring your swimming shoes.
    • The dirt Road from the Main Road to the hotel is terrible. Sometimes adjacent properties burn garbage so the smoke comes right in the hotel property. In the early morning 4am the roosters and dogs will wake you.
    • Wifi is very bad. I stayed there 1 year ago and the wifi was bad. But they assured me it was being improved. So I come again and the wifi was bad. So I mention it and they tell me exactly the same thing again. Dive master seemed very bored and Never asked me how much air I had left.

Location is great. There are many resorts in this area as it is a staging point to get to Apo Island.Staff are very friendly and helpful, clearly well trained. Food is good quality. It is easy to swim and snorkle and see fish just in front of the resort. We didn't go diving, despite our initial plans (nothing to do with the resort), but we enjoyed swimming, the pool, relaxing.

Oh man, this hotel was so comfy and so well designed, and the beach is quite fine - it was just a smooth black sand mixed with big pebbles. The staff here was always smiling and very accommodating and thankfully I never felt the negative bias against me as a single male - they were always very kind… The resort has it’s own boats (parked right near the beach) for diving tours, which is amazing! And man, I had the most empathetic and careful snorkelling guide - cannot appreciate him enough… But even if you don’t want to get in the sea, it’s okay to just go see the waterfalls (perhaps with a driver - mine was very kind, helpful, and knew a lot about Philippine culture - and was driving safely, I would choose him again), hot springs, or just do nothing - it’s really fun to do nothing here - just swim, lay in the hammock, or journal tucked away somewhere… The restaurant here is top notch (very good), they make some very good food…

Oh the chicken… I could hear chicken all day and all night… the roosters were shouting even at 22PM or 3AM, and that was really annoying. But hey, in the morning, it was compensated by the best eggs I have ever had for a breakfast. Don’t take this too seriously, but I was sad there wasn’t more options for breakfast. And I was also sad that espresso here isn’t exactly what I expected as an European. And another thing to keep in mind is that this resort is very far away from any interesting places or shops, so you need to have a motorcycle or a car - or hire a driver. WiFi was painstakingly slow for me with frequent blackouts, so later I stayed on mobile data, but perhaps that is just my experience - but hey, it’s Philippines - in retrospective I am glad I could text someone. Also, the voucher system where you have to apply for wifi personally every day is very clumsy I think… But please, take it just as a gentle sharing of observations and feedback…

Staff was veny nice. Room and pool was good. Food was great. Very good (free) breakfast.

Noisy neighborhood animals. Dogs, rooster, cats. It's the Philippines but ...

Quiet, very friendly staff. They had their own boat out the front for snorkeling/diving trips. Even had a massage .

Very closed in. Not close to anything. Perfect if you are there to go diving or snorkeling though.

    - Great food, very tasty and well presented. Must try tuna tartar and seared tuna ) - Beautiful pool with a nice view. - Everything was very clean and staff very friendly.

    - Quite noisy, woke up to the chicken and cows very early in the morning. - Diving operation a bit crowed, at some point it was one dive master for 4 divers in a spot(coconut in Apo island) where current was really strong. - They repeated dive locations on the following day because there was only open water divers compared to advanced divers like us. But the night before they agreed to a different location and changed their mind on the spot. Quite disappointing and unfair not to inform us in advance.

The room was very clean and spacious! The free breakfast was really good and there's free water! Would definitely go here again! Also the dogs are really friendly!

    None so far!

+ CLEAN and SPACIOUS room with nice design+ nice GARDENING in parts of the resort+ VIEW to the sea was nice+ STAFF was polite

    - SOUND INSULATION was relatively poor, so everything could be heard quite clearly (wind, waves, people by the pool - but chicken/dogs (as written in other reviews) were not an issue for us as)- relatively SMALL BED (maybe 130/140 x 200 - the room would be big enough to easily fit a bigger bed, though)- NO BLACKOUT CURTAIN, full light enters in the morning from sunrise onwards- very SLOW INTERNET which also disconnected occasionally- LOCATION is quite far away from Dauin and other infrastructure such as restaurants or supermarket - the only positive part of the location is that it's right next to an (ok-ish) beach (so unless you never want to leave the hotel and eat and stay there all day, you always have to get an expensive tricycle to get anywhere or rent a motorbike)- the DIRT ROAD leading from the main highway to the hotels is really in very poor condition with lots of holes, stones, etc.- overall, given these downsides, NOT TOO GREAT VALUE for money

Beautifully designed hotel with very attractive gardens, pool and small beachfront looking out towards sea and Apo Island. For divers, it was exceptionally organised with facilities/own boat and crew etc. We went on dive trip as snorkellers.

Nothing It is not near to town/shops/ bars/restaurants but you could ask for transport and all food/drink at resort was very good and reasonably priced

    10Cjl1195Posted on: 2-27-2025

The staff were amazing, food was incredible. The diving on Apo was world class - incredible vis, beautiful, healthy reef. Turtles and fish everywhere. The pets (5x cats and 3x dogs), were an added bonus to this incredible place. Also special shout out to our wonderful divemaster, Jim Jim! You made our trip all the more better with your patience and understanding of my partners diving ability. You made our trip absolutely incredible. The resort itself was beautiful and looked out onto Apo. Can't wait to return one day.

Keep in mind the distance from the local airport. We stayed at another hotel the night before our trip near Dumaguete, and it was very bad.

    10IanPosted on: 2-5-2025

Wonderful contemporary hotel, with as expected an emphasis on diving. The rooms were well appointed, very comfortable and clean. There is a "small" safe in the room. The layout of the dining area in the shade by the pool with views of the sea were good. Food was reasonable priced for the standard of the hotel. Free drinking water is available. WiFi in the room was very good, although you need to get a new WiFi voucher every day... (perhaps good for security). We went snorkeling to Apo Island which is recommended if you are not diving. We managed to see a Turtle, beautiful coral and many brightly coloured fish. Great trip and very good value. All the staff were excellent. Particular mention of the shuttle driver who was very cheery and made our onward journey a pleasure.

We had a ground floor room near the restaurant which was noisy with people chatting and barking dogs. However this would not put us off revisiting again.

    10OlgaPosted on: 1-21-2025

It is a very atmospheric place with a high level of service and a great restaurant. A good and safe place to learn diving, interesting for experienced divers. Attentive staff and hospitable hosts. Romantic view of Apo Island.

    10RichardPosted on: 1-19-2025

Absolutely cannot fault this place. We will definitely be making this our "go-to" spot from now on. Rooms were exceptional, with great balcony views over the pool looking out toward the ocean. The restaurant in itself makes this a 10/10, with the food being brilliantly western, with a few local dishes. The staff were exceptionally fantastic and were very responsive to any requests. The barman makes the best Frozen strawberry Margarita i have every had (in fact i had at least 4 of these a day, they were that good). The bathrooms were very clean, and the hot water was really hot, fast and reliable. I also liked they gave us towels for pool and beach use. Guests can do a dive course here, in which they use the 3m deep swimming pool (at the deep end). This is a great place to stay with children , and is very well located for exploring the greater Dumagete region.

There is absolutely nothing about this place that i can fault. the only thing wrong with it, was that we didn't stay longer.

Very nice hotel and staff. Very good dive center with excellent dive guides! Made 6 dives at Apo island - that was magnificent!

The sole downside are the sounds of pastoral life around you: dogs barking, rooster crows on dawn and so on. But it doesn't bother you too much. The place is perfect for diving!

Mahi Mahi Dive ResortGeneral:Date of stay end beginning of 2025The territory of the dive center is the backyard of the hotel, there is a place for drying equipment after diving, bathtubs are filled with water for different parts of the equipment.Pros:Location (in the center of all dive sites and opposite Apo Island)Large boat (there is a toilet, hot and cold water, tea, coffee, cookies)Availability of a speedboat for a small group of diversThere is nitroxCons:There is no dive schedule (information about the location and time of the dive the next day to find out yourself)

    8NataliiaPosted on: 1-9-2025

General:Dates of stay beginning of January 2025The hotel is located on the coast, opposite the famous Apo IslandThere is not a single store near the hotel where you can buy water, fruit.ServiceFriendly reception, will always answer all questions and come to the rescue. There is a transfer for an additional fee (you will be met in Dumaguete and taken to the hotel)Beach towels in the roomFoodPros: 1. Beautiful presentationCons: 1. Breakfast a la carte and the breakfast portion for me was insufficient. For example, American breakfast: two eggs, two toasts, some jam, 1 portion of butter, bacon and a cup of coffee. And for Shakshuka, you had to additionally order another egg for money, since the menu says Shakshuka from one egg with 2 pieces of toast. No butter or jam.In principle, the portions in the hotel restaurant are very small.Room (Double Deluxe with 1 bed; garden view)Pros: Comfortable and large bedMosquito net providedLarge room 35 sq.m. on the 1st floorShower gel and shampoo provided2 comfortable large pillows providedHairdryer, safe, refrigerator, kettle, bathrobe providedCons: I had another bed in my room, although I did not ask for itThere is not enough space on the drying rack. In addition, the drying rack is located in the pedestrian area and you can’t hang your underwear there. There was no service water, but it could be taken from the common cooler in the restaurant.Rooms on the second floor with a balcony and a couch, rooms on the first floor do not have this option. It turns out to be a walk-through yard.
