Hotel Calabona

We stayed in this hotel twice and it was a nice experience in Alghero. Also hotel transfer to the downtown area was very convenient

Right outside of Alghero, short walk to town or shuttle offered by hotel. Staff very friendly and good customer service. Parking available.

Nice location. Reasonably close to the old town and a shuttle bus available as well. Staff were very helpful. We got a free upgrade to a suite on arrival.

The egg station for breakfast was not great.

Location was good. I like that the hotel has a free shuttle to the city center. I like the breakfast. The cleanliness of the hotel. Hotel has umbrella and loungers for all guests. The views are spectacular.

I did not like that the hotel did not have a bellman to help with luggage. Hotel did not have a fitness center. The guest have to pay 3€ per beach towel and if you wanted clean beach towels you would have to pay another 3€ each time you exchange beach towels. Poor spa service.

Really nice hotel, clean rooms, very friendly and attentive staff. Goof breakfast.

It was not such a good value, we were there in august, it was a little expensive for what it had to offer

Staff was AMAZING! Location is great, not far from town and the shuttle to/from town is such an excellent bonus. We loved the pool, our room, the staff. If we return to Alghero Hotel Calabona is definitely our first choice

Hotel Calabona was an excellent choice for us for an extended weekend. The hotel is a real 4-star, classic, well-maintained hotel. The staff is extraordinarily supportive and that makes the difference. We were helped for things that were not necessarily the responsibility of the staff and it would have been very easy to say I don't know, it's not possible (reception, bistro). But people wanted to help sincerely and we appreciate it a lot (I would suggest the gentleman with the mustache, from the reception, night shift, to a bonus for the employee of the month, for his attitude and support). The breakfast is ok and we really liked that there are fruit juicers available for self-made fresh ones. The shuttle bus is free to the center (the cost is borne by the restaurant at Sepanto where hotel customers have a 10% discount) in certain time intervals and the driver is very kind. The beach is intimate and quiet, without music, only the sea can be heard, with a lifeguard during the day. There are rocks on the shore and it is easier to enter the water with water shoes, but it is also ok without). The massage is excellent. The rooms are clean and the mattresses are comfortable, plus full blackout curtains. Parking in the hotel yard (with payment) and free behind the hotel near the beach (within the limit of available places). Overall the quality/price ratio is honest, we will definitely come back. The transfer to/from AHO airport takes about 50 min by public bus, which has 1 stop in the center and 25 min by taxi/uber (50 eur +/-)

We got a very nice upgrade and we were given the suite. Amazing view from the room, very comfortable bed and spacious bathroom with all the facilities. Free parking was easy to find around the hotel. The breakfast buffet was amazing, good quality and great variety.

The room balcony wasn't very clean. We were given an upgrade -from standard room to suite- so not sure if the suite wasn't prepared for guests.

There was no AC and hot air was blasting into my room, asked for it to be fixed multiple times and was told “every room is like this”. Was moved into another room the second night and was much better. Asked for a free breakfast to make up for our discomfort and was told yes, but the manager visibly rolled her eyes after

Well kept, pool, easy parking, nice prime, good brekkie, shuttle

Location by the sea side and close to town. Renovated room/bathroom. Staff was super nice, especially the ones at the bar by the pool.

The main restaurant is in the basement and looks very old fashioned and un-inviting. Walls are paper thin, you can hear anything.

The location, the price and the size of the bed.

I didn't like the access, the parking area or the visibility of the hotel's maintenance areas.

The hotel is lovely looking over the sea. Plenty of parking and a 10 minute walk to the beautiful historic town and there is a free shuttle service which we also used. Every member of staff was very helpful and friendly.We even got a free cocktail as it was my birthday. It was a lovely couple of days.Made use of the very large pool tooWould definitely return

Pool opening hours but this was only because we were staying out of season. We still made use of the pool and the life guard was lovely

We had a very nice apartment with great view. Coffee master was great!

Minor grievances: - lack of parking spots in the hotel yard (although paid for)- balcony doors wouldn't shut properly, so some noise would come in from the outside- chill area of the city since it is 20 minutes walking distance away from it (but a shuttle was also available)

The property was clean and quiet, just what we wanted. Location was about 20 minute walk to the town however the hotel offers a free shuttle service which was a bonus
