La Playa is the most beautiful hotel that I have EVER stayed in. Seriously! Everything about this hotel is 5 star except for the price. It's so crazy inexpensive!

    NOPE!

Friendly staff, and clean comfortable rooms and property. View from our room was fantastic! Spa services were amazing! Loved the close proximity to downtown Rota which was fun to explore.

The hotel, the staff, and the location!

Their “amenities charges” were a major shock to this seasoned traveler! Until this trip, we have NEVER been charged for any “room amenities”! This facility actually charges 50 cents (euro equivalent) for each coffee pod, each sweetener packet, each creamer, ice , even the complimentary lobby coffee (3 euros per cup), and the list goes on!

Great location, beautiful Mediterranean view. Huge room. Very friendly staff. Very nice breakfast buffet.

Breakfast was amazing with a great variety of food.

Plenty! My husband and I stayed and had our reception for our wedding at Playa de La Luz 25 years ago. The room they gave us for three people was small and I know they have bigger rooms. They also put us in an area that has rooms being refurbished. Our room had a lot of ants and the staff just didn’t act accommodating. Our room was too cold and didn’t have the heat turned on when it was very cold outside.

It is always a great pleasure to stay at the Playa de la Luz. The hotel and personnel are first class.I had a great breakfast to start my day each and every day. The omelets are so good!

Having to pay for parking is not a good thing. I have been staying at the playa for over 20 years and this is the firsttime I have ever had to pay for parking.

My second time here and LOVED it! Right on the beach and very clean. This is like a resort without all the nickel and diming you get in America. Staff is friendly and the pool area is fantastic with great food and drinks available. Breakfast is 15€ but a great value. The beach is walkable and lovely and there are some great restaurants on the beach within walking distance. It’s a slice of heaven.

Nothing. You have to pay for parking now which is new I think. It’s not super expensive but a bit of a pain.

Great location right on the beach.

The double bed rooms were very old-looking and not worth the cost, nor the 4-star hotel rating. We ended up having to upgrade to a jr suite to have a 4-star worthy room.

The location and the services and facilities

Around mid June all entertainment activities start by the pool, it gets noisy and busy with people and kids dancing. They do that for about an hour and there’s no where to go.Sometimes they do that also around 10 pm and have concerts. Not everyone likes or needs entertainment, I particularly look and enjoy silence. Also the sunbeds are reserved by guests early in the morning, they pick them up and place a towel and secure their spot. By ten there are no more sun beds and no more available areas to lounge. More guests than sun beds. We ended up doing the same otherwise we had nowhere to go for the rest of the day. This should not be handled this way. Parking used to be free for guests last year, first come first serve and there was a good amount of parking. Now it’s by the hour. I feel that the refinement and quality of the facility clashes with some decisions of the management to promote all inclusive entertainment oriented stays. Not for everyone. I’ll probably come back in early June next year trying to avoid this if possible. It’s still my favorite destination and I care a lot for their staff that got to know us.

Location! I opened my curtains each morning to see the sea! Helpful staff! Great pools! The bar/restaurant by main pool is lively, staff super nice, food good!

Parking should be less expensive for guests.Lounge chairs by pool aren't adjustable.

Excellent location for relaxing stay. We stayed off-season, so can only speak to room and pool restaurant, both excellent.

    9MartaPosted on: 3-17-2025

Perfect setting, very comfortable rooms, spotless clean, good variety of food for breakfast, nice bar. We went in winter but it must be even better in the summer when your can use the pools and other facilities.

It was not possible to book a parking space and when I arrived it was full.

Great location on the beach. Nice resort. Good restaurants. Great breakfast.

This is such a beautiful hotel with an amazing location right on the beach. The facilities are first class. Food at the restaurant was delicious. And the staff was very friendly and helpful.

The beds were uncomfortable, with the metal springs sticking in your back and made noise with every move.

Great location, private car park, very friendly and helpful staff and amazing breakfasts.

Room we were allocated was very small for x 3 single people plus smelt very damp and musty. We asked to be moved and were offered a junior suite (which we had to pay for ?) although bigger room still felt very damp. I left with a cold.

    10RobPosted on: 10-19-2024

Very nice (two)rooms looking out on sea. We got free upgrade.

    10CatherinePosted on: 10-9-2024

Very nice large property right on the beach with a huge pool area. The room was beautiful with lots of space. The bathroom had a tub and shower, 2 sinks and nice amenities. Beds were comfy although it was 2 beds basically pushed together. We took the buffet breakfast and dinner and they were phenomenal, highly recommend as the food was hot, fresh and tasty. The staff in the hotel and restaurants were pleasant and went out of their way to make sure you had everything you needed/wanted. Highly recommend this place. AND they have pickleball courts / 4 nice ones with permanent nets.

    Nothing; would stay there again!!
