    Pros +

    • The views from the room (take the one with the balcony, worth the extra cost) The staff, very friendly and helpful
    • Room and bed were extremely comfortable with a lovely quilt. Loved the tub in which you could totally stretch out and relax. The views were incredibly beautiful and I loved sitting in the Moorish courtyard reading with the sound of flowing water in the background. Enjoyed all the sitting rooms. This was a day of rest before flying home so being at the Parador was perfect.
    • Genuinely "old Spain"!

    Cons -

    • Dining room staff seemed depressed. Two of our party of 3 had excellent meals, but one was served a dessert with spoiled whipped cream (not pleasant!). Staff took care of it and provided a substitution at no charge, which was good.
    • Breakfast was delicious but dinner was disappointing.
    • The property was great, but the directions on the use of the free shuttle from the parking lot were a little vague. Also, we did not receive a twin-bedded room, despite booking one. I am unsure if that was the fault of booking.com or the property. Otherwise, our room was spacious and well appointed. And the VIEWS!

The place is beautiful with the best view in town from a high peak. Walking the 750 meters up a steep incline may not be for everyone, so taxis and shuttles are available to take you up. There is one-way traffic up, but the passage is narrow, and parking is non-existent.View from the balcony is incredible. The parador has a very nice bar and dining room. Food was excellent and much better quality than nearby tourist restaurants. I'd recommend this parador and this village for a taste of Andalucia for everyone.

The walk up with a pull along bag was tough!

Lovely accomodations in a beautifully renovated building. Great staff. Great views. Always ask for a room looking over the hillside.

Just didn't get my favorite room this time

The service - spotless as usual in ParadoresWarm welcoming at check-inNice terrace with great viewsVery spacious bathroom

Missing a swimming pool to freshen-upAnd our room had strong smoke smell; although we are not sure it was coming from the room

Location, view and the historical Parador

    8JoanPosted on: 3-24-2025

The parador was just beautiful- very comfortable room. A lovely ambiance in the bar with a magnificent view. Breakfast was great.

I felt some of the staff were a bit aloof. Service was very poor at breakfast even though there was only a handful of guests in the dining room. I had to ask for coffee three times and the ratatouille we both ordered never arrived!! Given the problem with the coffee It wasn’t worth the hassle to ask for the ratatouille!!

The location and views were excellent

We were told the day before we travelled that there was going to be a parade and therefore no taxi or bus to the hotel which is in a pedestrian area at the top of a hill. This message was too late to change our travel arrangements. The talk took 40 mins through the crowed streets and could not have been done by older people. The receptionist was very un apologetic on our arrival

Anthony the bartender and Ana the waitress were beyond excellent. Best beds ever.Quiet. Fabulous view from terrace. Front desk got us cab from park king.

No one answered taxi services recommended so we had to call hotel for taxi.

Fabulous hotel! Lovely room with the most amazing views!

Slightly spoiled by a very rude lady at breakfast who I assume is the dinning room manager… who accused us of rather loudly of not paying for breakfast! Other than that the staff were ‘ok’.. nothing to note really.

Good location, attractive accommodation, good food and service.

    8RayPosted on: 10-28-2024

The location is rhetorical main attraction staying at this parador.

We arrived by car and found getting to the property difficult to drop off the luggage. As well as driving back down to park. In the day we left thankfully no rain walking 10mins downhill to car park.

    8ClarePosted on: 10-22-2024

The location was stunning and dramatic. The views are wonderful and the hotel has a timeless charm. We had a nice evening meal in the restaurant.

It was not easy to get to if you have walking difficulties. Had I realised at the time I booked I would not have booked a non-refundable room! We had to leave our car in a car park at the bottom of the town and walk up hill for 15 mins with our luggage. Apparently there is a bus but the pdf we were sent with the times was illegible. The carpark outside the hotel is fenced off and being reconstructed. From reading other reviews it’s been out of use for a while. It is in the hands of the local council and outside of the control of the hotel. The breakfast was not up to the same standard as other Parador hotels we have stayed in. The fresh fruit was limited, and going off. The pineapple was brown where it had gone bad, as were the grapes. The service at breakfast was poor, we were never asked if we wanted any cooked breakfast.

    8BrucePosted on: 9-23-2024

The room was adequate, but without a view. The location of the Paradore was up a long steep, very narrow winding road with no parking at the Parador which meant dropping off the luggage. and parking some 15 minutes away. And then when leaving walking to get the car to return to the Parador for luggage.

The menu was disappointing with few choices and the dining room was very noisy.

Delightful, traditional, room was great we upgraded to view of valley, location, amazing views, staff.

    6AmandaPosted on: 8-23-2024

It was nice, the location, the staff, the structure, the room was big and comfortable.

That they didn't gave us a room with a view and we were staying there for only one night, it would have been a nice gesture to win us back and to recommend the hotel to the people in our country

    8GillesPosted on: 8-9-2024

I spent two nights in this property and experienced two bedrooms, both of them large, luminous and comfortable. The terrace included in the second one was as large as a room...Special mention for the pleasant staff, I am deeply grateful to Juana for help.

The breakfast, twenty-one euros, remains the disappointing point. A lot of useless offers and, in contrast, not enough vegetable or bread.

    4DavidPosted on: 6-18-2024

Helpful staff in reception. Ability to walk to other bars and restaurants. Outside terrace with small amount of shade. Large room with seating. Large bathroom. Superb views over countryside.

Our room was next door to noisy lift. Cathedral bells tolling every quarter hour till midnight, within a few metres of our room. Band practice in town hall opposite until 10.45 one night. Sun terrace on first floor had no shade at all so no one used it - a waste. In main hotel area there is very little space to sit and have a drink/snack unless you used the cafe or restaurant or the internal courtyard. No information in our room about the hotel or surroundings. We have stayed in many paradors but this has been one of the most disappointing.
