Pros +
- The pool. The variety of food. The beach. Everything outside the room.
- We had such a fantastic time! The hotel staff were absolutely wonderful, and the place itself is just beautiful, with so many great things to do. The people were so incredibly welcoming from the second we got there. We also loved the delicious food and the fun evening shows. It was so nice to find a relaxing spot without other tourists outside the hotels.
- Not much really. Our first ever all-inclusive and would not drag us back a second time. Some of the people looking after us were fantastic but unfortunately it felt like too many were looking forward to the end of the season and were difficult to engage with in the dining room, e.g. for drinks.
Cons -
- All the men were kind most of the time to females. While the girls , especially the bartender at the beach was so unkind to women. While all the men experienced kindness and smile. So weird. And disappointing. The room was poor. The bathroom was extremely poor.
- The towels were a recurring issue throughout the stay. Guests would place their towels on sunbeds by the pool and on the beach to reserve them, and then leave for hours, sometimes without returning at all. This was particularly frustrating because the hotel had rules posted about not doing this. The problem was amplified on the days when a storm closed the sea and the kids' pool was also being cleaned, leaving no open sunbeds at the main pool for people to use.
- We got a lecture from the front of house staff about relaxing and not using the internet. However, the hotel is very happy for everyone to kill themselves, and others, as they allow smoking in all outside spaces. Bit of a conundrum there.

The only good thing about this place are the nice staff and fresh food everyday.
When we arrived, even if we asked months before for a cot, there was no cot in our room. When we left the room, someone randomly entered our room and put a cot. I know it’s a hotel, but there’s no need to enter the room without asking our permission. We also asked for a double bed but they didn’t give us a room with a double bed and only brought a mattress topper, which made it even worse.Additionally, cocktails and drinks were awful. They don’t have a measurer for alcohol; they simply pour it in a glass, resulting in cocktails that are either too weak or very strong. The beer and wine are very cheap and disgusting. Very nice staff, everyone helpful but except for Rosemary at reception. We asked for late checkout and they proposed we pay £120 for 3 hours. Our flight was originally at 11 PM but was delayed until 1 AM, which meant we waited for 12 hours after checkout with a baby! They offered us a gift bag and some water which was nice and unexpected but unfortunately this did not help. Overall, our holidays in Crete were so-so, as the whole island is very poor and dirty. Overall, I do not recommend this place.
Thanks to the caring team of Grecotel for sunny Greek hospitality! Thanks to their attentive service, tho it was a dream vacation. The rooms are cleaned daily, the area is green, the staff is friendly and always ready to help (after check-out they allowed us to stay in the hotel, including eating in the restaurant and even taking a shower). Such heedful. During the whole week of vacation we received only positive emotions, so we highly recommend choosing this hotel for your vacation! And we want to come back ourselves.
Not a minus, but a wish: it would be great to see the composition of each dish in the restaurant (there is not enough information about allergens in each other), otherwise 10/10.
Delicious foodVery friendly and helpful staff they really do their best to make your stay perfect
The bathrooms and toilets need renovation
Nice place, great territory, fine beach, good food and very pleasant staff.
Everything was fine.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted at the door by friendly staff who went above and beyond to ensure we got a meal despite our late flight time. Food was fresh and tasty and staff were lovely thought our stay. We had hoped to visit the local Agretourism farm but weren’t able to due to a change in our plans and the hotel manager sourced gift bags for us so we could try the lovely products. The hotel is set on its own bay with free pedal boats to borrow. We loved swimming to the island you can see in some of the pictures.
I personally found the bed a little hard and it could be a bit remote for people wanting to be in the centre of the action. We didn’t though so it was perfect for us!
An absolute heaven (beside the few flaws mentioned above), located centrally but really isolated from everything, no neighboring hotels or resorts within sight, a private beach for real, the plot of the resort is very smart and simple, making it a very safe place for kids to roam freely, easily finding their way everywhere. Food was absolutely fantastic, breakfast, lunch and dinner, extremely rich and diversified variety of food to choose from, changing daily with basic regulars of course, I would never recommend an all inclusive experience when travelling but this time I can't say a single bad word about the food, didn't feel like we were missing anything. staff is very friendly, warm and professional. All and all an amazing stay. Would come back again for sure.
First - bottom line this place is perfect, detailed later. second, a few flaws -Our bed was bad ?... an old, soft and saggy mattress. I'm glad I haven't read the reviews about the beds, because it would have been a deal breaker for me and I would have missed this amazing place, but definitely they must replace the mattresses ASAP. I was offered a "topper" to better my sleep, which obviously made it worse, and ended up putting the topper on the floor and sleeping there which worked good for me (I do something similar at home...).Entertainment was bad, with the all too familiar non English speaking performers doing covers for 80' hits. I will never understand why no one thinks about changing this bad habit which happens in most resorts, in Greece anyway. sounds was bad as well with too much volume. Shows continue till 23:00 every night which makes it impossible to sleep with anything open, so you miss the breeze and the sound of the waves, which by the way, is heard perfectly from your bed. Beach was amazing and 30 meters from our room door, just keep in mind it's sandy outside but the minute you step in the water it's rocks and pebbles all the way... not ideal but still a nice secluded and relaxed beach. these are the flaws. it's not nothing, but still didn't really interfere with our perfect stay at the Meli.
Food and restaurant was excellent. Open bar as well.
Kids club for the kids was very bad. To many staff but not much and entertaining for the kids (7 years and up). Gym only open when spa is open and need to pay a extra fee for this.Spa could offer more range of treatments that you want and need as a hotel guest, as manicure/ pedicure/epilation etc.
The Staff is amazing. The location of the Hotel is amazing, quiet area with private beach.Excellent service, very attentive staff who welcomed us with a great smile.
1.The fact that you need to order drinks from the staff during your meals. Should be self service just like the food.2. Other guests. Some people just don't have any respect for the people who work.
It is great location, nice sea, kind personal and tasty food.Thank you
The place is very wonderful outside, and the facilities are diverse, especially the children’s club, which is very distinguished and holds many events and parties throughout the day. The beach is beautiful and the meals are delicious and varied.
The worst thing mentioned in this hotel is the rooms, especially the bed, which is very, very bad, uncomfortable and not double, and the covers are very light, old and worn out. Also, the bathroom needs improvement, as it is very old and does not look good.
Great location in a quiet section of beach away from other resorts (but still walking distance to Malia palace, which is well worth a visit). The staff were friendly and very accommodating to our needs. Good selection of food at all meal times.
Unfortunately living there permanently isn't an option.
They have followed up on the prior double charge and have tried their best to rectify the situation. I would recommend the resort.
They have since reimbursed us for most of the double charge. It has been a real inconvenience. Although we are aware and understand that mistakes happen. We are fortunate to be able to afford to carry that credit card charge for the last 2 months. Hopefully there might be further system improvements to ensure no one else is in the same situation.
Exceptional staff. Very good program of amusement for families, green territory. Food was very good, had variety and even our picky kids were happy!
Hotel needs renovation. The beach is sandy and nice, but inside there are rocks, so you needs to have swimming shoes with you better!
You feel welcomed from the very first step in the hotel and during all the stay. Staff is just lovely! Very professional, friendly, and helpful. The atmosphere is relaxing, and we feel so recharged after our vacation. Also the hotel is very children friendly, all staff members were communicating with our 2 y.o. kid.A lot of activities were proposed every day for adults and for kids, like zumba, yoga, swimming pool activities, and disco for kids. The food is very tasty with many options to choose from ?
Cleanliness, hospitality, great food
food and service was excellent and the entertainment was excellent.the team assisted where they could and ensured we were helped when needed. We felt very comfortable in our room and how the hotel was managed. Food and snacks were always available and it felt like a real holiday. The management and team of the hotel were world class. we left very happy.
the inside of the toilets do require a deep clean. they reflected dark stains which was not pleasant to see.I think more information and detail for outside activities should be more available. the staff helped but there was not many options to provide.
Amazing grounds , the gardens are great, especially with children.Staff extremely polite and helpful, always eager to help and with a smile on their faceFood for AI high quality, Many options to choose from and tasty Location and view very secluded and private Very clean everywhere
The rooms are outdated they need new furniture and the bathroom is very old The kids pool is a bit small
