Pros +
- Everything. The restaurant staff are so nice and welcoming. There is a shop and car rental right outside of the hotel which is really convenient. The food, room, pool- absolutely everything is fantastic.
- Great location and reasonable facilities. Housekeeping and F&B staff members were great. Breakfast was ideal for me, good selection of fruit, breads, yoghurts etc and eggs made to order along with other buffet items you’d expect to find. There are plenty of sun beds and people didn’t reserve etc. Lunch portions from the pool bar large too if you don’t fancy venturing out for lunch.
- Pool was good size but I had a private pool which was perfect for dipping in and out of. Had an upgrade to the boutique suites which didn’t seem completely finished but was fine. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Cons -
- It took 2 days of asking every few hours to get an ironing board (it appears the whole hotel has only 1) . Our biggest issue was noise and being able to sleep. The ‘entertainment’ music went on late (almost midnight one night) and was so loud it sounded like the DJ was in our room so getting an early night wasn’t an option. Our room being above above the pool/ bar, each night we were kept up by chatting and ambient level music even when there wasn’t entertainment planned and woken up again around 6.30 when the breakfast setup started. Entertainment went on later than advertised and when the church bells wake you up at 7 on several days of our stay lead to us not having the option of 8 hours sleep on holiday (earplugs didn’t help!) I wish we knew this before we came as we would have stayed elsewhere as we came for a rest. Given the demographic of the hotel (majority retired guests) i was surprised and with the DJ there were only 2 tables in the bar for the last hour or so and everyone was talking about how annoying it was at breakfast the next day.The shower facilities for after check out are a death trap and filthy. These were in the basement; looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for weeks. The lights there were on a timer so you were plunged into darkness several times in the duration of a shower and the light switch was outside the shower cubicle so you had to navigate the slippery floor in pitch black whilst also holding the shower head as there was no shower head holder. If you find yourself at this hotel I wouldn’t bother using these facilities, I felt cleaner before! Not a good leaving impression.
- Only let down for me was the food, not much choice, breakfast was cold and toaster didn’t actually toast and handle kept breaking. Indication of what some of the food would have been helpful. Fish served in evening was dry. Salads were good and deserts nice although minimal choice. Also, ice cream would have been nice occasionally as well.
- Perhaps not the cleanest. I had a room with a private pool and it could have easily been made more private - the side walls are quite low so you can see in each other's pools and the back wall is glass so people walking past stare at you

The staff are so amazing and they really make this hotel special.

The staff were very helpful. The hotel feels very spacious. Great location, our room overlooked the beautiful church. Fabulous cocktails and bar snacks.. if you're looking for a tranquil resort, then this hotel is perfect.
We stayed in a room with our own private pool and felt the sunbeds provided could be updated as not very comfortable..
We had a wonderful stay. The room with the private pool and the sea view was truly exceptional, perfect for couples or quiet stays with friends. Very special mention to Sam behind the bar, Maria and her sister in the service. We particularly enjoyed our stay thanks to them, always smiling and with unparalleled values of hospitality. The food was good, and i tried the best espresso martini of the country ;)
We had a little noisy neighbors the last few days, but nothing too annoying since the surroundings compensate for any disturbances. The “clean my room” and “do not disturb” light display system needs to be reviewed. Indeed, with the light of day, the housekeepers certainly could not distinguish the red light from the "do not disturb" and entered the room even though we were sometimes not properly dressed to open the door for them. It happens 3 times during our stay and it was not okay. The smell near the spa is not very pleasant, maybe put some candles or room perfume to compensate?
The staff is extremely friendly and supportive. They are very welcoming. The breakfast is good also. The pool area is very nice.
The cleaning ladies didn't make the effort to check what amenities are missing int he room; and what should be refurbished. The amenities for a 5* Hotel are extremely limited. I ordered a room with a King Bed; but I was surprised that they joined 2 small mattresses instead of having a single one that should be more comfortable. The rooms need some renovation and decoration. They should work more on their identity.
This is a fabulous hotel- often when you arrive late somewhere after a long day’s travel you don’t see the best in the accommodation you picked? Uh-uh we definitely didn’t get that here. It was definitely a “wow” on arrival. The staff are just wonderful and make you feel valued, the accommodation itself is just beautiful. We had a room with a pool which was perfect to pop into to cool off after rambling round all morning and the patio was in shade in the afternoon which was perfect for us. The main pool area is extremely attractive too if it’s sun you need. It’s pretty central (and Sissi is just lovely) and there’s a variety of entertainment if you want it. Plus a gym and spa….
There’s absolutely nothing to say here!
Cleanliness. Comfort. Location
Great location, good size room, very well maintained.Excellent pool area, friendly staff.Castello Boutique Resort is a relaxing oasis.
More clothes hangers in the wardrobes please
Staff was extremely nice and caring. We had a problem in our room and they moved us to another room. Breakfast was very good. The private pool was very nice and well equiped. Location was good - a few minutes walk from the main street and sea. We enjoyed our stay very much!
Bedroom was upstairs. Not convenient to go the bathroom in the middle of the night....
This is an exceptional hotel! The staff were always smiling and helpful and kind. They quickly remember who you are and your preferences. The whole hotel is immaculately clean and rooms cleaned every day. Our room was fantastic, 102 and we were so pleased to get the sun on the pool all day long, if you are lucky enough to get 101 you'll get a bit extra on the side too. I have never had such a comfortable bed in Europe, soft and huge! The pool area is large, and there are plenty of beds and space. Breakfast is a huge selection of both continental, Greek, and cooked options. We didn't eat dinner here as there are so many restaurants around the hotel we chose to eat out every night. Lunch options were very good, though, and we enjoyed a club sandwich and Ceasar salad. There is also a supermarket right next door, which is handy. In the evening, when we got back, we enjoyed a cocktail at the bar with other guests, and they are excellent cocktails! I would have no hesitation to book here again. A heads up if you come at easter, it is right next to a church and they have a big build up, there is a lot of prayers on the speaker which go on for hours and days and one day the bells rang every 15 seconds for almost the whole day until late at night. It's part of the cultural experience, but if noises bother you, maybe go the week after Easter. It could get a bit much at times.
There is nothing not to like.
Lovely room with Jacuzzi. Nice staff. Easy parking. Easy walk to many tavernas and bars.
Small pool and not enough sunbeds, many of which which were 'hijacked' by guests despite signs requesting people not to hold beds by placing towels.
we had HB service and food was very delicioous and on high level of quality, staff is very professional, rooms are spacious and clean and bathroom too, well behaving guests and athmosphere was calm and relaxing...
no private beach and is not beachfront...
Excellent breakfast and staff. Great location.
If you are looking for a modern clean attentive hotel in Sisi, you cannot go wrong here. The staff were attentive, management provided a bottle of champagne and the room overlooked the pool. It was quiet.
The staff overly doted and this hotel could have been anywhere in the world.
Amazing staff and great location. We were given an upgraded room and it was very quiet and relaxed.
Some areas of mould around tiled areas and some repetion on the menu ( although food always excellent quality).
The hotel was very nice and the breakfast was very good. The pool area was nice. We had to leave very early one morning for the ferry and they prepared breakfast just for us at 6 am. The small town was just a short walk away.
We would have loved a sea view. They had music playing throughout the hotel which you could hear in the rooms. I had to wear ear plugs to go to sleep. The pool was dirty with algae. We never saw anyone cleaning the pool.
The room was very comfortable and quiet, breakfast was very good, it had a nice relaxed atmosphere and was close to the harbour where there are a number of quaint shops and tavernas. Some of the staff were indifferent but Eleni was great, always ready to chat but very hardworking, a credit to the hotel.
We had a hot tub but there were balconies above overlooking it so it was not very private. The dinner was a set menu except for the main course. It was always tasty except for the main course (don't know why, was always a bit overcooked/dry) and drinks were not included in the deal so we found ourselves paying over 30 euros per night for a bottle of wine and water. On hindsight it would have been better value for money to go bed and breakfast and eat dinner in one of the local tavernas.
Very friendly staff and was nice and relaxing hotel
lack of entertainment, room situation at back of property was on to a field full of rubbish, more selection of food
