About

Naumi Hotel Wellington, a sensory dreamland where you can stay high and get low on Wellington’s electric Cuba Street. Play, nestle, indulge and color outside the lines at our boutique hotel’s carefully crafted and designed rooms. The hotel, adjacent to Naumi Studio Wellington consists of 62 oversize rooms, more like a studio apartment than a hotel guestroom, ensuring the most comfortable stay. The color palette reflects the essence of Naumi – colorful and wild with a refined edge. Bold color blocking in the rooms takes its inspiration from nature: lilac, avocado green, rusty red, subtle turmeric, like the colors of a Wellington sunset tastefully clashing with a contemporary carpet diagonally striped in fluorescent colors.

    Pros +

    • Room was very comfortable and quiet. Tons of great shopping and restaurants. Right on Cuba Street
    • Beds were comfortable and everything was set up when we arrived so that the infants werent too disrupted with the travel.
    • I loved the vibe of this hotel! It was gorgeous and had the most comfortable bed of our whole New Zealand trip. The location can’t be beat because it’s in the heart of Cuba Street and was within walking distance of so many great restaurants, cafes and shops.

    Cons -

    • Light switches were difficult to figure out and it took us ages to try figure out how to only have the lights on we wanted so that the kids could sleep. Also found that the shower wasnt the greatest.
    • The shower box design is flawed. The doors can’t be shut properly - water is leaking out through the gaps on the door. The drainage is problematic too. You will be standing in a pool of water by the time you finish showering.
    • Bathroom a little dated but still good, check in via a tablet a little impersonal

Great location on Cuba Street that’s close to shops and restaurants. And the elevator opened up directly into the parking garage.

Best location - walk distance to great restaurants and attractions in city central. Spacious room and comfortable beds. Great lighting design.

The shower box design is flawed. The doors can’t be shut properly - water is leaking out through the gaps on the door. The drainage is problematic too. You will be standing in a pool of water by the time you finish showering.

Great room, great location, quirky, great breakfast

Bathroom a little dated but still good, check in via a tablet a little impersonal

    beautiful room, spacious and comfortable

pool was a bit lame, no hot tub either.

Beds are very comfortable, the elevator is really fast, the place is lovely and a good location.

Centrally located, very cool vibe and decor, super comfortable bed, large room, lovely staff, great buffet breakfast. The bar area is a fun place to chill and have a drink or mocktail with friends .

When it was very windy and stormy, my room shook on the 8th floor and the wind was howling through the windows on 2 nights. On the other nights it was fine.

Beautiful roomFriendly and helpful staffAwesome location

Great location - close to restaurants and quick walk to the waterfront. A bit funky design, but that is what you want in a boutique hotel.

The staff at the counter was friendly and took care of check in and check out quite well. But as I did not sign up for breakfast, I did not realize that the hotel had great bar.... I wished they had told mme that... would have made my evening more enjoyable.

Was so central - just walk out you door and you are bang in the middle of Cuba Street. Room was spacious and clean but quite dark. Took a while to work out the lighting. Loved the big jar of lollies on the reception desk for guests.

The spa was not in use and the pool was not heated during out stay which we didn't know until we arrived and one of the reasons we booked here was the pool.

We needed another night due to a flight cancellation and they were so good accommodating us

The process at the bar of waiting to be served when we were sitting right beside it. The room was very hot

Really cool fit out. So different, beautiful, edgy, arty, Staff were super friendly and helpful. Beds were really comfortable. Location is perfect being on Cuba Street. Really reasonable price for the he room we had, in my home town we could pay up to $500 for a room like this. I would definitely stay again if I come to Wellington.

Very creatively decorated, good central location, comfortable beds and quiet rooms. Very clean and tidy. Wish we had longer.

Shower in our room was tiny and leaked all over the floor and took a very long time to heat up. Could not use with pressure as it flooded the floor. The shower head seemed broken, could not be adjusted.

    7AndrewPosted on: 6-12-2025

    Locale and comfortable big room

Front of house, check-in & breakfast presentation all a bit haphazard

    8GalenPosted on: 6-5-2025

    Fun vibe and great location.

Crazy high pressure water sprayed everywhere if not careful turning on bathroom taps. Wouldn’t stop us from booking again.

    7NicolePosted on: 5-28-2025

The lobby and restaurant/bar areas were gorgeous. and the location was great!

The pool was in a tiny dirty room, with nowhere to sit around it and no view, the spa was right next to the pool but was out of order and green water. The gym was the size of a cupboard and had about 3 pieces of equipment - it seems like maybe they only put a few things in a room so that they could say they had a gym? The rooms really need to be updated. It seems like a lot of money has gone on the downstairs bar area but not much on the actual accommodation. So while it was still nice, it wasn't worth the price.

Room was spacious and luxurious and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was really great and the hotel just felt gorgeous and comfortable.

    No bathtub.
