    Pros +

    • Location, has a kitchen and washer/dryer
    • Thought that the location was good, along with the room being decently sized despite being an odd configuration
    • Will never stay here again.

    Cons -

    • The toilet didn't always flush properly and would keep running after a while. Also the room is functionally fine but definitely a bit dated, not that it impacted the stay.
    • Terrible. The entire building shakes when it’s windy. My family felt sick all night. Couldn’t wait to leave in the morning. Also, we arrived at 6:30 pm an could only communicate with staff through the intercom and they took about 10 minutes (and hung up on my several times while we stood with our bags in the curve), in order to locate my reservation.
    • i always find that I write about what I didn't like first, and have to come back to what I did like afterwards. So, the didn't's. Small bedrooms (2 bed unit), single tiny bathroom. Not in keeping with any other Quest we have ever stayed at (anywhere in the world) and not even close to the standard of the one we stayed at in New Plymouth (which was very good). It was a tire, old run down building, with old furniture and moth eaten carpets (and no air-conditioning). Now, I don't want air con to become the running complaint, but keeping windows open in the city, beside the wharf and with the main expressway on the other side of the harbour meant sirens and boat horns all night, and no air movement if the windows were closed. Again, suicide windows so fully open was a tiny slot of about 10cms. Again, no parking, but cheaper than Auckland. Parking was about $48 per day in the Wilsons opposite, but, be warned, it closed at about 9pm and we hadn't gotten all our bags out. No food nearby. OK walk to the CBD, but we arrived over the weekend, and the CBD is not useful when it is not weekdays. Overall, a pleasant stay in Wellington, but not helped by this accommodation, and we would not bother to come back to Wellington again. Having said all that, on to the good points? Weren't really any to mention.

Fairly shoddy run-down accommodation, serviceable, not cheap, 2.5 stars maybe ...

    Clean, friendly staff

I did request to be placed on the same floor as family who were traveling which I wasn’t however my stay was comfortable, clean and the staff were great. The security may need to be looked into as I had to leave at 330am to the airport and in the neighboring rooms the doors were slamming shut constantly from 130am with numerous people coming and going. Fortunately I had to get up early however being a single female I didn’t feel particularly safe leaving my own unit to get to the lift when their door was ajar open, light off and clearly things going on.

Hotel swayed and moved in the strong winds we had. Extreme weather event but we have motion sickness so had to move.

Very good location. Comfortable room/bed., but one bedroom apartment rather small. Better to take a two-bedroom apartment.

After hours check-in was very poor. Our plane was delayed by two hours and when we arrived at 9pm we had to use an outside intercom, which was useless, in order to get the code to the locked box and get the key. We tried 4 times and each time it cut out so we were stuck outside in pouring rain and gale force winds. We only got into the property when a couple of Americans opened the door for us and rang the emergency number. They had to try twice before they got an answer so make sure you get the emergency number to ring prior to your arrival in Wellington. The Reception at the Quest Apartments closes at 7pm weekdays and 6pm on weekends. Not a good start to one's holiday!

Location was wonderful for the train, and then some shopping. Surrounded by great food options and shopping.

The couch was dirty and old. The furniture was very tired. It is time for an refresh.

    Convenience Location and Friendly Staff

I checked into a room that had a broken washing machine, but there was no sign or notice about it. Unfortunately, my clothes ended up getting stuck inside, and the staff had to call a specialist to fix it the next day. While the manager responded quickly and arranged for the repair, I felt very uncomfortable having all my clothes trapped in the machine overnight.Once the clothes were removed, the manager kindly offered to have housekeeping wash them for me and also gave me the option to switch rooms. In the first room, I later discovered that a window had been left open and simply covered with a curtain, which I only noticed at night when the temperature dropped. The new room also had all the windows open during one of the windiest days, and its bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned, as I found hair left behind. On top of that, the building tends to shake quite a bit. While the manager did offer me the option of moving to a lower floor, guests should be aware of this issue in advance. The only positive aspect of this experience was that the manager acted fast and provided solutions when issues came up. Still, I believe the hotel should put signs on broken appliances or inform guests beforehand to avoid this kind of situation. This was the first time I’ve ever had my clothes stuck in a washer, and it turned into quite an inconvenience during my stay.

    Location

Room configuration. Narrow and boxed in. Lacked any effort feel comfortable over function. The biggest issue with the room was the overwhelming mildew or musty smell.

The fact it was central and not too expensive is about the only good thing

We had a pretty poor experience here, on arrival we got given keys for a one bedroom apartment on the sixth floor at the back, which was the darkest room we’ve ever been in as there is another building just 2m away from the windows. We were tired after a ferry crossing so didn’t bother to ask for another room and got settled. The facilities were ok but the washing machine did not work although we followed the instructions, we put a wash & dry setting and it only dried our dirty clothes, then a wash setting which didn’t drain.. basically had a nightmare trying to wash our clothes 3 times. Then in the evening a horrible greasy smoky smell came from outside in the alleyway, the windows barely close so we were being smoked inside the apartment and it made it smell like we were cooking some fried food in our flat. We suspect there is a restaurant fan downstairs and it goes straight in the back apartments so don’t bother with those. We didn’t complain on the first night, but on day 2 the smell came back so we phoned reception and said we can’t deal with it can we move, to which the receptionist told us this wasn’t our original room and we had been upgraded ! Which the first receptionist never told us about. Apparently our original room was on floor 8 at the front of the building but they’d given us a one bedroom apartment instead of studio without informing us. We then got given the key for our original studio room which was much nicer and bright, with views on the road. We were really annoyed that we had not been informed of the ‘upgrade’ which frankly was a double downgrade. They should not even bother to put guests in those flats at the back which are so dingy.

Stayed at this property at the end of March, second year in a row, very happy with my choice again. Great location, close to a bunch of breakfast places, as well as dinner places, a short walk to the harbour, and Woolies is 5 mins way too. The staff were lovely, especially Tamara who checked me in. I would definitely choose this property again.

Clean and extremely comfortable in an excellent location. Staff were phenomenal, especially Tamara who went above and beyond. We were recommended this accommodation by a friend and we weren't disappointed. We'll be back.

Location was great. We were upgraded so that I didn’t need to share my bed with 2 grandchildren. I had enquired online if I could get an extra bed but received no reply.

It wasn’t serviced on one day. Clean towels were forgotten on another day.
