Not much sorry but thats my own fault for booking. I needed somewhere fast and cheap

I know its a hostel for young people but staying up chatting loud till 11pm with all windows open is a bit much, again my own fault.First showers I went into had no hot water.Bed is springy

The location is really good, in the centre walking distance from all main places to visit. We were in a 4 people bedroom and had a private toilet. The staff were friendly. The rooms and facilities were good and clean.

The kitchen is really small. There’s not a lot of cutlery and dishes so few times we had to wait for other people to finish eating so we can get something to eat with. Also, people didn’t always wash dishes after themselves so the kitchen was a bit messy. The lower bunks don’t have curtains and there’s no storage space to put your stuff in. Keep an eye on your groceries in the kitchen, ours and some other people’s disappeared although we labeled everything.

Location brilliant, free breakfast pancakes on Sunday

Kitchen was pretty dirty in the evening , very busy hostel.Beds were squeaky!

Good location for walking to everything in Wellington. Was quiet at night in the private rooms.Had an outdoor area to store our bicycles as we’re riding the TA.

Bathroom had a blocked drain and when one of us showered a load of short hairs came up through the plug whole and filled the shower base. Not enough shower gel/shampoo provided for the number of people and nights staying. Building works right outside the building that started around 0700. Not in their control, guy should be warned to guests.

The room had a bathroom.

The beds. The room was really small. No outlets next to the top bunks. The pillow was not good at all and the bed was too small. I'm 188cm but I had to place my feet outside of the bed.

Friendly staff and nice and clean bedrooms. Central location was useful

Messy kitchen, no dish rack, no sugar for tea, couldn't use the back area to eat or smoke at night. Light switch didnt work without a card

I was impressed that I could change my room when there was an issue with a person's socks that hated soap. They were quick and that made me feel I can return and while room mates are variable, you can change the room.

Reluctance on traveller's part to keep kitchen tidy but that will change from one day to the next.

Absolutely loved the service at the front desk, I loved the old-school building loved it was so central and felt completely comfortable with the security door cards, loved the pull up windows as well it was all we needed for a rest before jumping on the ferry back home thankyou

There's nothing I didn't like

Very central location off Cuba st. Friendly and helpful staff. Luggage storage available.

Room felt dirty and sheets were stained. Communal kitchen was filthy with pigeons roaming around the kitchen counters - major health hazard! There were lots of long-term residents staying here who would sleep on the communal sofas during the day which made for an uncomfortable atmosphere. I would not recommend staying here.

Ok so different people have different needs. I need a clean bed and strong shower. I thought the bed was very good and the housekeeping manager was helpful. Gemma in particular and some of the others at the reception were helpful. Some people left because they wanted a better kitchen. I thought it's will equipped and kinda nice. And, it takes me over a week to start using the kitchen so I am not an immediate kitchen enthusiast.

No real complaints. It's a pretty decent place and the price is good, the building is a masterpiece and definitely five star if only in heritage and architecture. I wouldn't mind some milk powder in my tea and some showering gel in the bathroom

Excellent location and cost, as well as easy to find within the city!

The only side i wasn't a fan of, was the fact that they don't accept NZ Proof of Age cards even though they're Official ones..I get this is a Hostel, but i found this odd and if i didn't have my passport with me then this could have been an issue!

Great value for money. Nice clean room, friendly staff and great location.

Mattress was super worn out and way too soft.

Size of the room, kettle, tea and coffee available. Sustainable shower wash and shampoo packaging.

Shower overflowed and flooded the bathroom with no canter in the floor for the water to drain away on its own.Asked a staff member if a squeegee or mop was available to move the water away due to wading through water to use the toilet. Was told no and thst there would be no help until the morning (at this time we would be checking out).Pancake fever was advertised for 9am Sunday and was told by the same staff member to be down on time as they go quick.Several guests were waiting in the morning only to be told there was no pancake mix left. Of course this is a great offering but don't hype people up and not deliver.Easy enough to rectify the night before or take it off the board. It was at this time that we went to use the toilet downstairs in the laundry, only to discover there was a mop and bucket there. It was also obvious that our room hadn't been cleaned sufficiently as in the process of charging my phone by the bedside table, a blister pack of cold and flu tablets along with a dirty tissue were discovered. The power point was also not affixed to the wall properly. The bed sheet was also ripped where I lay.By far the worst hostel experience in NZ.

Friendly staff, the location was easy to find. It's been a while since I stayed in a backpacker, and staying at it again made me think twice about the next time I travel. Budget-wise, of course, a very affordable stay. It was not because I didn't like the place, but because I didn't have a restful night because the bed bunks made a loud noise every time the sleeper above me moved around. Even where I slept, if I got out of bed, it made noise, which I hate to wake up the others.

The noise outside, and the bed itself, made such noise every time the sleeper or I myself moved around. I am a light sleepe,r so it disturbed my sleep. However, experiencing staying in the backpacker, made me feel like a solo traveler.

Beautiful building with plenty of space for everyone.

I just to ink the kitchen is very small and untidy but if you don’t cook is perfect to make new connections :)
