Nice location. Greeted well on arrival.

Have stayed here before, and always enjoy the beachfront location, with its walkway and proximity to shops and eateries.

Can't really find fault, apart from the building showing the usual signs of age. Always clean and comfy, though.

Large room with great view .

Couldn’t reduce temperature on aircon below 21C at nighttime , which was very very disappointing especially with some noisy wildlife preventing us from opening the glass sliding door.

Lots of different room options. Great location, quiet. Excellent for large groups. Facility available for use. Friendly staff. Easy check in, easy check out. Reasonable price.

The location. Cardwell is a stunning little town.

The “upgrade” we got once we arrived. Absolutely disgusting. For the price for 1 night. “Ocean view” You’d expect the cleanliness would be up to standard, blanket/throw rugs smelt like dust and moths. Fridge and microwave were rusted. No sink!? Looks like a fresh paint job wasn’t enough. Bathroom floor has never been scrubbed, you can see were customers gunk off there feet has worn on each tile. Floor should be white. It was black! Woke up red swollen eye and an inflamed top lip. Very disappointed

Overall a nice place to stay on the waterfront at Cardwell. Great for short of long stays. This is regular go to for trips around Cardwell.

As a regular, maybe once every two years, I found the new Hutchy Unit wonderful. Clean, spacious, plenty of cupboard space, great sized ensuite and comfortable bed.

Nice cabin, clean and comfortable. Staff was super helpful when we needed to find medical treatment.

Wifi service was very limited and Telstra service not any better.

The accommodation was clean and comfortable and the lady in Reception was lovely.

The room is cleaned and tidy. The Double Bed is comfortable for two people. My daughter sleeps in the single bed said that the bed moved when she sits and lay back in the wall which I don't think it matter. The view is perfect. I love that I can have a coffee in the morning and look on the sunrise in the beach. Its a perfect location with a restaurant adjacent to it for food. We had dinner on the night we stayed and the calamari that we had was perfectly cooked but it needs salt in my husband's and my preference. But, each is different with regards to how we taste our food. We had the seafood platter and my family enjoyed that. Its all cook perfectly. I would definitely stay again but maybe I would try the villas where there is more privacy and quiet place after a long drive.

We traveled a few hours and had to stop over in Cardwell. When I arrived I was tired. Stop by in the reception and I was annoyed to be honest by the receptionist because she has to tell me several times about the air conditioning and I am only allowed to touch the remote. The aircon is on, dont touch that thing in the wall, you are only allowed to touch the remote and again about the aircon. I understand what she is saying but I feel she thought I dont. After our lovely dinner in there restaurant, I wanted to sleep because I had a long day. But it is already pass 9:30 and there was a very loud music played which I think it could be upstairs. My husband told me its in the rules that they can do that until 10:00 P.M. I like the place but I think next time I will stay in there Villas where it could be more quiet compare to the Standard Room.

Luckily the motel staff were very helpful and let us have an early book in. Apparently they are a totally separate entity to the in house restaurant.

We chose this accomodation after seeing on line posts asking for musician suggestions for the date we stayed, and that the bar would be open for lunch from 11.00am with music starting at 1.30pm.We were there at 11.00 in horrendous heatwave conditions, only to find that the venue was closed, and wouldn’t be opening until 4.30pm. With the bar opening at 4.30, and sweltering heatwave, we decided to go down to an air conditioned bar for pre dinner drinks at 6.00pm, only to find that it was like walking into a sauna. Immediately sweating profusely, we cancelled our table booking, and ordered a mediocre pizza to be delivered to our room. A terrible and disappointing birthday surprise for my partner.

Great location and staff and rooms were awesome. Pool was perfect and refreshing.

The restaurant was mediocre, visited a few times now the first time food was great the last couple was terrible, for the price you want decent food.

The food at the restaurant was amazing I had the calamari entree to die for so fresh And the battered barramundi was great too .A great view across from the beach and overlooking Hitchenbrook.And 10 - 15 min away from the spa rock pool and Atties creek falls .The locals are so friendly and full of stories and laughsLoved our stop over.
