    • Facility was acceptable, great view. If you love feeding wild brightly coloured birds, then this is the place for you.

    Cons -

    • I'm so sorry but I'm going to be brutal on my review. I was in unit 19, top location near water, lots of activities for the kids to do, but the cleaning of the unit let's the park down. Never cleaned the windows and tracking wardrobe tracking the bathroom is atrocious. These are little things that could be cleaned once a week. Maybe if you gave the cleaners a little bit more time to clean a unit it would be a five star accommodation. The kids bed were so thin you can feel the wooden slats under the mattress.Because it was raining and the wind was so strong you could smell the dust, I'm allergic to dust and an asthmatic I woke up with a headache and feeling stuffy. The toaster was broken, there are charges if you don't clean your dishes and put them away and take garbage out before checking out. Very disappointing. Also we had a blackout at about 9pm, no contact from the park. The power was restored sometimes in the early hours of the morning. Thank God for mobile phones otherwise you would be in compete darkness. No emergency lights in units. And service, what service. No wifi that reaches my unit.
    • We took off shoes when entering the cabin (due to rain at the time), so we did not really put dirt into the cabin. Floors were a little dirty, so when we went to bed we had a noticeable amount of dirt on our feet that got transferred to the bed sheets
    • Birds were noisy early in the morning. Beds could have been more comfortable.

Spacious cabins. We stayed in cabin 19 and the position of the cabin in the park was peaceful and quiet and the view of the lake was amazing,

The Koala House is a great option for a family gathering, with plenty of room for big dinners but also for everyone to have space to do their own thing. The Koala House felt suitably seperate from the rest of Koala Shores, but with easy access to enjoy the facilities where wanted.

Location, beautiful setting, lots of bird life , water views, clean. Nice pool. Cabin was clean and air conditioned. Every thing worked. Sheets and towels clean. Staff friendly.

Noise from ice cream van engine running outside my cabin while I was trying to sleep during the middle of the day

    Peaceful and convenient location

Bathroom cupboard was broken, very old and dated facilities, not enough natural light and dead cockroaches found in a few rooms. Also a super bright light out the front of the cabin which shone through the window at night as the blinds didn't close properly

Beautiful location beside Lemon Tree Passage. Simple cabin with everything you need.

Kids were sad that the bouncy pillow only opens at 9am because we had to leave early, but maybe next time :)

It's proximity to the back water and other fun activities in the area.

The spa villa was full of moisture and the spa wasn't working either. We notified staff to which they said someone will come and check, but no one came to inspect.Broken tiles in living and bathroom, we found cockroaches as well.

We stayed with our family for a week in early January. It was a great base for our holiday, close enough to explore attractions in Nelson Bay, but quiet and removed from the busy holiday traffic.

The view of the lake was nice. The bed was comfortable.

There was what appeared to be vomit on the children's doonas. When I went to reception to ask for new ones I was advised that they don't have any spare doonas and that it was too late in the day to wash them. I was told "There is nothing that I can do for you". The fridge had a low pinch screech that went all night and the air conditioning kept turning off. The cabin had an overpowering bleach smell.

Facilities were great, tennis court, table tennis and the pool is fantastic! We were so lucky getting a pool side cabin, directly across from the pool and it's great value for money, with spa included in our room.

The shower head could use an upgrade if I'm being picky. There were some very loud obnoxious guests nearby and taking over the pool until late at night but the staff were lovely dealing with it and addressing the concerns the next day

Great place to stay. Beautiful scenery with the river frontage and all the walking tracks. The park amenities are top notch and all clean. Booking was easy and staff were very friendly.

The cabin was tidy and comfortable, and mostly pretty clean (to the point it strongly smelled of bleach when we first arrived and we had to air it out a bit). It had the basic essentials (toaster, microwave, kettle, plates, cutlery, glassware, clother airer etc), a nice big new TV (which was good to see although we didn't really use it) and a good sized couch. The bed was relatively comfortable with sufficient additional blankets and pillows. The kids loved the pool area and had lots of fun there. There's also a couple of playgrounds and a jumping pillow to keep the kids occupied.

There were A LOT of small cockroaches (both alive and dead). There were small dead cockroaches in the glass cupboard around all the drinking glasses. We had to make sure we washed all the glasses again before using them. I felt like every time we looked around we saw another cockroach scurrying away. The cabin could do with a few small upgrades. Our fridge in particular needed to be fixed/replaced. All of the door bins were broken off/missing, and of the 2 main shelves in the fridge only one wasn't broken and held any reasonable weight. It served its purpose for 2 nights but would've been a problem if we'd stayed longer. The 4 slice toaster was a nice addition over a standard 2 slice one, but only 2/4 toasters worked.A hair dryer in the bathroom would be a good useful addition, especially for drying hair after the pool. Likewise, the bathroom could do with a hand towel rail/holder.

    Safe for kids.

Too crowded, small beach for such a large number of caravans and cottages.Sofa bed was not great.

    9RebeccaPosted on: 1-25-2025

pool was highlight. awesome location. cabin was what we needed, and tidy. very child friendly.

Only suggestion is more kitchenware/crockery. we needed more cleaning supplies, a frying pan, a saucepan etc.

    6MelissaPosted on: 1-24-2025

Spacious. Boat ramp on site with jetty

Far from beach. Needs more facility for kids and adults being in a more secluded location

    9PeterPosted on: 1-23-2025

Location was fantastic and the amenities were great.

Cabin could have been a bit cleaner, dust and dirt on area o top of shower cubicle. Some of the cupboards in the kitchen were a bit tired and needed repair. Busted tiles in bathroom and trim needs replacing or repainting.

    8JulianPosted on: 1-21-2025

The amount of space there was for the kids to play and the pool.

The speed bumps on the driveway meant the kids found it very hard to use their scooters
