Pros +
- Location is away from the heavy traffic and pollution, still walking distance to Darjeeling Mall and Pagoda. Rooms are beautiful, loved the view, wood paneling, heated blanket. Staff was kind and responsive. Reviews were right, this hotel is a great deal!
- The staff were friendly and the location was good. It was walking distance to the mall road and restaurants. From our room we could see the mountains on a clear day, which was great. There is a beautiful garden space with mountain view. We also liked the restaurant to sit in, and were provided with a space heater. The room was cold, but the hotel provided an electric blanket, which was warm and cozy. We also appreciated that the hotel was decorated beautifully for Christmas.
- The location was good. And the decorations of the property were nice. The beds had a hitting system so it was quite comfortable. The continental breakfast option was fine. The hospitality of the staff members was delightful. There are good interior locations to take pictures of the property.
Cons -
- We visited during Christmas time and the room was very cold. Although the Hotel provided a heater, it was not sufficient to warm up the room. We also couldn’t get food WiFi in the room or in the restaurant of the hotel. That was frustrating.
- The room was a little cold even though there was a room hitter. The washroom was super cold. It could be better if there was a floor hitting system. After asking for toiletries it was refilled whereas it should have been taken care of before hand.. A brush with toothpaste, shower gel and shampoo, fabric sleepers are very basic amenities that should be provided where the room cost was more than 6000INR.. Because at the end of the day we are not just paying for the walls we are paying for the services too.. So it should be kept at the highest priority.. The Indian breakfast served was very nominal.. It could be improved..
- Location. Due to one way road restrictions , we need drive more to reach Mall road.

We stayed this hotel for 3 days with kids. Clean rooms with nice bath room. Housekeeping team is doing their task efficiently. Amazing guest support from front office and food & beverage staff. We liked the options on continental breakfast.

One of the best lodgings I had during my entire duration in India. Staff was even kind enough to arrange a private taxi for me that led me on an adventure that I hadn't even planned! Will visit again if I'm ever in Namchi.
Had a wonderful one-night stay at Villa Everest in Darjeeling with my friends! It’s a charming heritage hotel from 1904, beautifully maintained with its original wooden architecture. The hospitality was amazing, the rooms were cozy and clean, and the location was perfect — peaceful yet close to everything. Plus, having a parking space in Darjeeling was a huge bonus! Highly recommend it if you’re looking for a comfortable and memorable stay.
Quiet and cosyStaff friendly and helpful
Some distance from railway make sure you have train station pick up
The Room was clean and all linen including the toilet was nice.
The Room has wooden ceiling and the guests above started jumping and running on their floor with loud music on almost the entire night as well as in the early morning hours, making the stay really unpleasant, while repeated request to the hotel staffs did not make any difference to pacify them, moreover the breakfast items were too overpriced for such a hotel. The room was not even having great view of mountains, so overall the stay was really not that much enjoyable in this hotel.
Staff, ambiance, comfort
As the flooring is wooden, guest staying in the floor below confronted us for extraordinary noise when all we were in the room.
A great hotel.A cozy bay window with a sofa, perfect for watching Kanchenjunga—and the electric wires.Jokes aside, the team here is fantastic. The location is excellent, and the bean-to-cup coffee is a delight. It’s not new, but it has character and history, making it a truly charming place. I sincerely recommend it.February is cold—no doubt about that.Stepping out of the bath is a challenge, but the heated mattress solves everything—such a brilliant idea!
The staff were amazing - very kind and helpful and the food was very good. The room was spacious and very clean.
It didn’t have central heating and was very cold. We had a fan heater and the bed was warm with a heater and extra blankets but the room didn’t ever really heat up. I think at another time of year it would be a great place to stay as the location was very good and it had a nice terrace.
Elegant hotel, very nice staff, good food.
Could be closer to the centre
Good location, quiet, clean and comfy. It was very cold outside but the mattresses were heated, electrical heather was available and great hot shower, so it was very comfortable.Staff was very friendly and helpful. It was practical to eat in the hotel but there are also good restaurants near by. I totally recommend this hotel, great value for money! It was much better than another hotel I spent one night at same price.
The room was super cozy & charmingly furnitured. The bed was heated which was amazing due to the cold room.
I am always hesitant about booking hotels online in India. You can never tell what you will get. Villa Everest turned out to be a great choice -- it is exactly as advertised; quaint, staffed by kind people, with bed warmers and a helpful 900W heater to take the edge off the chill. The room, bathroom, and linens were all very clean. We were close enough (easy walking distance - ~7 mins) to the Mall road, but far enough that everything was quiet and peaceful to sleep at night. They even watched over our luggage for a week while we went on a Himalayan mountain trek! This was an excellent stay and for those who are hesitant about what you will get when booking online in India, feel assured this is a real review by a real American who had a really nice time in Darjeeling at Villa Everest :)
Nothing to complain about.
Well maintained Good food Nice view Fancy interior Walkable to main market
The hotel is clean , the food is good & the staff friendly & helpful
The weather was unseasonably cold , the hotel supplied an electric blanket & a fan heater but the room was still cold in the morning
Quiet property with courteous and helpful staff. Food(breakfast) was excellent and with a beautiful view
Really quaint and authentic hotel, has a nice rustic/cottagey feel to it
Not very much hot water! Had to have cold showers as the tank didn’t have enough hot water for us to both have hot showers, and it was really cold when we visited! Staff were kind and provided hot water bottles, electric blankets and an electric heater though
Everything. The rooms are large & very well kept. The food is amazing. The staff is super-courteous.
