Sapphire Springs Holiday Park and Thermal Pools

The staff is very nice and does their job very well.

Very disappointing experience. We paid $84 NZD for one night, and the cabin didn’t include anything — no bathroom, no kitchen, no running water, no linen, no pillows, no cooking utensils, not even cutlery.There was only a huge shared bathroom, and you had to pay $2 for a hot shower. I tried to take one after a long day of driving, but the shower never worked even after paying.Imagine arriving tired, just wanting a hot shower to relax — and it’s impossible. For the same price, you can easily find much better places that offer everything this one doesn’t. Definitely not worth it.

I liked the peace and quiet, being able to park right outside my lovely clean room and getting a great night's sleep on a very comfy bed. Really helpful and friendly staff.

A quiet, clean, well run camping ground a short drive from the main highway. The distance became appreciated as the location was very quiet, with bushwalks and morning bird calls behind Sapphire Springs, and what appeared to be a very safe family-friendly facility.

Nothing that I can think of.

Bush walking was beautiful

The swimming pool may be ok for summer but for April was too cold water. We did not know, we would not book it if we knew it's so cold water in the pool, even in tubs not hot enough for this period of time.

Misleading information, about thermal pools, they are not part of the deal, and charges apply to parks NZ for privilege.Cost of accommodation should have been enough with-out having to spend $2 to have a shower.

Just needed a bed for 1 night, was clean, tidy, inviting and comfy

The location was beautiful and all the different pools were great as they all had different temperatures ranging from hot hot too Luke warm. ??

The kids enjoyed doing manus in the main pool and are looking forward to returning and we will. ?

Didn't like that we couldn't stay longer

The pools and river were great.

We stayed in a cabin and there was only 1 BBQ for everyone to use so there was quite a wait. People also would cut through either side of our cabin which was frustrating.

Loved the options of pools and waterholes

The shower needed a mat on the inside of our motel room. It became very slippery. In the spa area, it needed a new mat as that was really slippery and dangerous, and some parts around the big pool were slippery. I saw a few people slip. The rooms could do with a broom if that's possible. Apart from this, my grandchildren and I really loved it. I will be recommending Sapphire Springs to other people

Great 2 bedroom apartment unit and loved the outdoor space at the back too!

Think I expected a bit more from the pool area

The setting and the pools,really is pretty crossing the stream to the pools

A great suggestion would be to have a little shop on site for the kids

The swimming pools are good, the walk is beautiful to get there. Very relaxing area. Good playground, our kids had lots of fun with other kids.

Some neighbours leaving at night and being very noisy

Location very peaceful. Perfect for my little dog and elderly mother. Great that I could take my pooch on leash through the lovely bush. The cabins were perfectly designed and proportioned for privacy, light, air and comfort. The shelving a bonus.

I couldn't take the dog in the hot pool area which meant we didn't swim however I totally understand that this would not be appropriate. The bush walk with the dog made up for it! Thank you

Location handy and not far from town. Pools were great and friendly helpful hosts. Grandchildren loved the experience.?

Lighting in room needed fixing, otherwise everything else was ?.

Everything is beautiful at Sapphire. It is like a paradise. Staff is so helpful and welcoming. Peaceful songs of birds, sound of river, drops of rain falling on leaves, sunshine, beautiful location, it felt like even air too sings there. The room was so comfortable as it had everything to use. The bench outside the room was a fantastic idea to sit there and to enjoy some time in the lap of mother nature. It was an amazing experience for me to be there with my loving husband to celebrate my birthday. This place made my birthday memorable forever. We would like to come back again for sure.

Great kiwiana holiday park set in an idyllic location at the foot of the Kaimai Ranges. Super place to chill out & relax & great access for hiking. Hosts couldn’t have been more helpful & accommodating ?

Views are amazing so are staff. Cooking facilities were perfect and spacious. Loved the access to the outdoor spas
