We had an incredible stay at HOTEL SHYAM PALACE. The hotel is extremely close to the Taj Mahal. Rooms are organized around a small garden in which we had breakfast and dinner. The most remarkable thing about this hotel is how professional the staff is. The manager always did his best to accommodate our requests, wishes, and needs. He organized us a custom sight-seeing tour (with a side trip to Fatehpur Sikri) and the train station transfers. Every morning, he gave us all the prepaid tickets (such that we could always skip the counter lines), stacked to ensure an efficient ordering of the visits.Every single time the manager committed to something, he delivered.

If I had to be picky about something, I disliked the fact that the toilets were in the same room as the shower. Note that we've seen this in other hotels.This is definitely a minor detail that will not prevent me from recommending very strongly this hotel.

Staff was very helpful, welcoming, and warm. Hot water shower was AMAZING (rare for India in my opinion, so I was overjoyed). We ate breakfast and lunch, I became obsessed with Gobi Paratha. Location was 5 minute walk to the Taj and yet nice and quiet at night. One of the staff members sat with us and chatted, it was great to get to know him a bit. He helped us know reasonable prices for a Tuk-tuk to see the other Agra sights.

Part of the building is being remodeled, as this hotel apparently has been converted from an old school (we loved the quaintness of the courtyard)

The location is great as it is very close to the Taj Mahal. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. When we were cold, they brought us a portable heater to our room, which drastically helped.

The towels needed replaced. They were old and dingy and had holes.

We had a very pleasant stay. The location of the property is absolutely incredible for visiting the Taj Mahal. We enjoyed the sights of Agra thanks to a very conveniently organized transport service from the hotel. The vibes is very friendly and we felt very much welcome.

This stay near by Tajmahal is awesome. 2 night stay made an comfortable stay in Agra. The staffs are nice and friendly.

Supremely convenient location, very short hop from the Taj entrance - perfect for a short trip focused around the Taj, Agra Fort etcRooms are very clean, quiet and comfortable, clustered around an inner courtyard (only 10 rooms). This is not a luxury stay, Staff are very friendly and courteous. We also ate dinner and they did their best to put together a vegetarian sattvic meal to cater specific dietary needs of some members of our group. Nikhil the manager is very thoughtful and polite, focused on the comfort of their guests.

Shower pressure slightly low, maybe needs some maintenance. As the shower area is not segregated/enclosed, water tends to spread across the bathroom floor.There are two latches from the inside the room door but a more secure locking mechanism would be helpful

Literally minutes walking distance from Taj Mahal, a huge plus. Excellent and helpful front desk staff. Comfortable and clean rooms. Area is not the best but one must understand that India's urban areas are not the cleanest or inviting, not the hotel's fault. I would recommend the hotel.

The area around the hotel could be better but it is offset by the hotels proximity to the Taj. I do not think you can find a hotel with this quality/value proposition as near. Monkeys on the rooftop and the courtyard tree scared the women, but it was fine.

The room was very clean and comfortable, the staff was very helpful and kind, the hotel has an internal beautiful garden where you can sit and have your meals, they also serve all kinds of food, prepared right away in their kitchen On top of that, the location is perfect, just a 4 minutes walk form Taj Mahal

The room were very clean, bathroom excellent. Staff were very friendly. walking distance to Taj Mahal. I highly recommend staying in this hotel.

Everything was great

It’s very nice and calm place. We really liked our stay here. Everyone in the hotel very friendly and helpful. It’s only 3 minutes from Tadg Mahal, so perfect location! It’s not just worth it - you get more than you pay.

Best hotel location to see the Taj Mahal at dawn. Super clean, just a few rooms, great staff. ATM just next door.

Great location only a few mins walk to the Taj, good for our early sunrise visit.Clean, comfy rooms set around a quiet courtyard.Value for money.

We went to see Taj Mahal and the location was good the food was good, staff were friendly and helpful, our tickets were arranged by the manager.Best for family.

Room needs proper dusting and good door mats required. Also it would be more pleasant if one Table is provided so that guest can enjoy meals along with the two chairs which are already provided.Regards

Super close to Taj Mahal. Hotel is being renovated.

We stayed in one of the not renovated rooms, and the AC didn't cool the room at all and it was very loud. The bathroom was also very basic and not properly cleaned. Although it's very close to Taj Mahal, the hotel is unfortunately still in a very poor area.

5 mins walk to Taj Mahal, friendly staff, "we only cook with mineral water" restaurant
