Pros +
- We loved this hotel. It is located right on the river. We had a river view room. The staff was very friendly and had lots of information for us.
- A pleasant venue in a quiet waterside location. The room had all basic facilities and was clean and comfortable. There was no noise from adjacent rooms during our stay. The restaurant offered a good choice of food and local wines and the service was good.
- The room was comfortable and they had a lovely welcome package including local wine and treats, those were all greatly appreciated. The decor is beautiful.
Cons -
- The room was small for two people, but adequate for a short stay.
- We booked the place because it had a pool and it was too cold to use. It is also inconveniently located, adding much extra time onto our drives each day. The restaurant is quite expensive and we weren’t overly impressed with what we got. They had limited gluten free options. We didn’t find any shops or alternative restaurants close by.
- It's not totally clear from the Lodge's listing on the booking.com app that there is no shuttle from the ferry or airport to the Lodge, and that there's also no public transport or private shuttles anywhere on the island. We had booked a couple of day-long tours so we thought it was a waste to also hire a car that would sit unused. Although we explained this to the lodge and tour company staff, they were pretty unhelpful in lining up a ride to and from the ferry terminal. As a result, we missed a ferry (forfeiting those tickets) and then had to book $$$ flights from KI to Adelaide, and new flights from Adelaide to Melbourne because we missed our scheduled flights. $3,000 later, this was a sad and frustrating way to depart a beautiful place that we loved visiting.

This property is located in a beautiful spot with views (for us) of the Southern Ocean and lovely sunset and sunrise views with birdlife. The restaurant serves delicious meals and the staff are lovely. The pool was clean and refreshing.

Clean, comfortable, well facilitated property in a picturesque waterfront location. Pleasant, helpful staff. Onsite restaurant provides great evening meals and a scrumptious breakfast. Highly recommended.
Lovely large rooms with great views. Very clean and comfortable room. Nice area with ease of getting around. Restaurant choices were great both locally and around the hotel. Staff are great.
Bed was super comfy, shower had great pressure, extremely clean, lovely restaurant.
Was hard to find parking in the dark as the map was a little confusing.
Helpfulness of staff, the welcome drink
Quality of the food in both the bistro and the restaurant left a lot to be desired
Lovely staff members, early check-in, size of the room, welcome drink, and gift. View from our room.
Spacious room, location is ideal, 30 min drive to city centre. Quite and peaceful.
Pool was dirty so couldnt use it for the stay.
Room was clean & tidy with quality linen. Breakfast was generally ok but could do with attention to detail (no point in serving long dead leaves as garnish). Restaurant dinner was good but very little choice - bar meals were good and quick to come out.Nice choice of TV channels.
Room not serviced on day two, so we ran out of shower gel & soap (clearly not checked before arrival), followed by coffee & milk for the next morning. Reception was able to correct this after a couple of hours and two requests........Pool is not heated, so a major disappointment.Window in room designed not to open, and beds were too soft and uneven.
The hotel staff were friendly and attentive.
Our room had no microwave or toaster to be able to cook anything. The lounge bar food was expensive but because of the hotel's location, there wasn't any other options. It was also Easter, so, many of the local eateries were closed. The curtains in our room were hard to close and didn't cover the whole window.
Great stay upgraded to water view and was just a glimpse. Not impressed with that. Pool needs serious maintenance work done.
Location and the setting was good
Staff unhelpful and lazy. Bathroom small and tired.
Lovely view of the bay, lots of birds, room was spacious and clean, thumbs up for the nice heater in the bathroom and the complimentary late check out.Dinner was expensive but very good.
Limited options at the restaurant especially for breakfast, forced to pay 29.99 for a fixed menu. Wanted to have just toast and jam and a coffee....not possible. Entry equals 29.99 per person for a fixed menu. No pancakes, waffles, French toast.
It was very quietLoved the rural setting especially as it overlooked the waterSpacious area in central KI
Car parking was too far from our room.It was up quite a steep hill and it was loose gravel to get to the room- very unsafeBathroom was way too small
Good shower, comfortable bed.
TV didn't work, cleanliness was sub-par, and location was just okay.
Fabulous, rooms overlooking the water (do ask for first floor as much nicer views): location is amazing (great for bird watching); staff lovely and all just great.
expensive disappointment
parking very poor, television limited to Foxtel and no free to air available, facilities looking old and tired
Lamb Pizza from the bar was excellent and enough for 2 people.Lovely welcome pack in the room including red wine?
