The room I was given being number 1 was round the back not as advertised with no front window view . Felt like I was in a back alley backpackers . No sun at all

There was a nice welcome note promising a beer. This would have been very welcome after the rigmarole to get the key, but unfortunately there was nothing in the fridge.

I hate motels that have no staff on site after hours. This one sent us an email with a code for the key lockbox, which of course I couldn't access until after I logged into the wifi. How silly not to send a text, I could have read that off my watch. As a result we ended up hanging about in the rain after long day driving. I also had to point out they tried to double charge us for having a little dog, who slept in the car anyway. The shower had no door or curtain, so we had to wade through the water on the floor to access the toilet. Won't go there again in a hurry!

Late check in is the only reason I chose this property

There was a giant web with a daddy long leg and the bed below had what looked like fresh blood stains

Easy walking distance to beach and restaurants/cafes.

Clean. Easy instructions to get key, into room. Parking on site. Good Wifi and Internet. Close to shops, restaurants, beach, town, cafes. Great value for the accommodation! Very friendly staff who communicated excellently.

The location is amazing, staff were friendly and helpful

There is no sink to wash your dishes this has to be done in the bathroom. We didn't use the spa although we were looking forward to it. This desperately needs to be cleaned

Buildings are old but the interior was nicely renovated and modern as were the facilities. Great shower with plenty of hot water and pressure.

There was nothing I did not like. Motel fully met my expectations

I was happy with the facilities, but the cost was exraordinary.

I was appalled to be charged NZ$623.51 for three nights' accommodation. This works out to be NZ$207.84 per night. I could have stayed in a five-star hotel for that price! I will be reconsidering staying at U Studios Paraparaumu Beach in the future.

Affordable, quiet location, friendly staff

Mould on curtains. Would be useful to have a plastic tub to wash dishes in rather than bathroom sink.

The loud people stomping around above us, constantly after 10pm especially on our last night when our kids were rrying to sleep.the dated decor, the lack of oven dishes to cook with. The stains all.over the carpet, the toilet would hardly ever flush properlly and

The single bed required a little attention to remove the squeak nd rattles otherwise comfortable.

Location was perfect. Quik walk to town. Burger place on the corner. Walked to the beach.

The room was amazing very comfortable an warm very clean just a 1min walk to get food only a few more minutes to the beach I would definitely be back thank you

The reception staff I spoke with on the phone was amazing. I was also able to check in early. The rooms were clean, warm, spacious and with added extras. and the walk to the beach was super quick. Fantastic location and great value for money.

I was a little skeptical as the setting of the motel is most unusual and somewhat off-putting but do not be fooled for what it beholds will pleasantly surprise you

The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious

The shower sprayed water all over the floor no matter where the shower head was facing. We would have been happy to use same towels etc but you couldn’t as needed them to wipe the floor from all the water. Oh and the bath plug was broken so needed a knife to get it out. It would be good to have scissors and a sharp knife in the room and one microwave container. The carpets was not vacuumed once in the 9 days we were there. The tea bags only filled once. The fridge froze everything in it even on the right setting. When checking in nothing was explained like where to leave keys in checkout etc. the person only said “this way” we got to the room she handed me the key and walked away. Very hot room, air con would be good. The linen was quite stained as well. So not sure how clean it was. Though was an easy way to know if sheets had been changed. Which were only changed on day 8 of our 9 say stay.

Very clean and handy for cafes nearby

It was odd having no staff to check us in but we did arrive after 5pm and the check-in instructions were clear, we found everything ok.

We really enjoyed the room. we got the same room as last time. There was only one thing we didn't like was getting in and out of the bath/shower. We think it needs a hand rail on the wall for more stability.
