A great place to experience the remoteness of Haast room

Restaurant options are limited for dinner and bar staff are terrible

A pretty standard motel-type accommodation. The rooms show their age, but cleanliness was top notch.

Clean spacious comfortable room. Breakfast buffet was a big plus.

No drinking water in the room. Bring your own.

Booking was easy, arrived late but no problem, the restaurant and dining room were very comfortable. We would happly stay again.

It was a clean space. We appreciated the refrigerator. The room was cozy. It was quiet and peaceful. The breakfast buffet had good selection of food. It was a good stopping point for our drive up the west coast. Would stat here again if we return to the area.

Not much around this location, but a good way point. The restaurant had limited dinner options but was convenient.

Shower was great after a long and cold day out exploring trails around west coast. The water pressure was next level :). Room was very comfy and had all we needed for a night of resting up.

It's a fairly old building so we did notice the noise from the corridor travelled through to the room but despite the hotel being fully booked there wasn't an issue at night and we managed to get a great sleep.

The Motel seemed to be in the middle of nowhere when we arrived quite late in the dark, but it was not too difficult to find with the GPS and the signs.Check-in is done at the entrance of the restaurant.People were nice, but the place didn’t seem very welcoming at that time.Plenty of parking around the hotel property, but not in front of the accommodation.

Room was small and looked worn out, like the rest of the motel facilitiesIn the morning people who parked their motorcycles in front of their room (in a kind of inside garden that all rooms are facing) turned on their motors and woke us up.

The hotel has a restaurant and laundry on premises which are very useful! Close to the visitor center that also a museum, very informative and educational.

The room was nice and large, with plenty of space for our cases. There were enough power points for our computers and charging various devices, as well as supplying hot water for tea. An unusual feature was a second door to the room (the first door was from the car park), leading onto a passage that took you half way to the bar/bistro in the front building (useful in this very wet climate). The meals were good (very noisy in the evening, with mostly male locals coming in for a drink and a natter before going home).

It was wet outside - seems to be par for the west coast.

Room was clean and comfortable but getting older. Restaurant was handy and white bait fritters were a delight but menu could do with an upgrade. Bed was fine. Fridge would have been handy.

Trip hazard when exiting bathroom due to carpet lifting. Reported.Room exceptionally hot despite opening windows. Was told all rooms are centrally heated so no way to override this.

Couldn't seem to turn off the heating, it was too warm to sleep, even with the window open.

Easy access from the Highway. Clean and comfortable..
