    Pros +

    • Bad old and dirty facility in poor state of repair
    • The staff very friendly and helpful particularly Bouba ?
    • Top location, nice staff, fine breakfast, easy hotel.

    Cons -

    • The facility was old, and ill maintained with peeling walls, cracked ceiling, bad bedding and toilets.
    • My room was advertised as delux - I shudder tp imagine what a standard or superior would have been like. The room was at best basic with no delux frills. The whole building acts s like a sound chamber transmitting every day/night noise/click. The one window was not sound proofed against street noise. No bottled water provided. Minimalist decor no pictures, just a poor whitewash and peeling wallpaper. Breakfast -x 2 croissants & nescafe - no fruit, jam, marmalade.
    • Very very dirty (and I’m used to staying in hostels, which this is not). Stains on the towels and sheets. The bath mat looked like it had not been cleaned in years. Dirt on the floors and the walls, especially in the bathroom. Particularly concerning because the toilet is in the shower, which only works if both are cleaned regularly. The toilet is separated from the room by a partition and a curtain, not a wall. Wasn’t a problem for me since I was solo, but if I’d been with friends it would’ve been awkward. Finally, apparently only the owner knows how to work the card machine. If you don’t plan on paying with cash, make sure you are either leaving mid-morning or later or that you pay during your stay (they do not ask at checkin). I did not have sufficient cash. It took them over an hour to get the owner to come in to do the 20 second transaction (seriously, I could have done it myself. It’s not hard.) Then, the owner had the gall to chastise me for causing him to wake up and come in early (7am) when it was clearly his decision to not train his staff in basic front desk operations, like how to take money from patrons. All in all, very strange and not at all in line with my other experiences in Senegal and The Gambia. It was the worst stay I’ve had in a while.

It’s affordable and the location is decent. The AC in the room was also good and strong.

Just the proximity to the centre

The deal was a fraud. What is on the internet is not what is on ground at all. The walls are peeling off. No soap for bathing, AC was not working, the place smells, the building is so weak u could hear your foot steps as if it is coming down. There were sheep being reared around and that gave the place a very bad smell. It is as if the hotel is not being cleaned. Either such a hotel what i paid for a night is like 4 times what i was supposed to pay.

The staff is very helpful and nice! 10/10 Delicious fresh croissants in the morning with coffee :) The location is amazing and helpful if you are planning to go to Gore early in the morning. 10 min walking distance from Gore ferry terminal and another 10 from the train station.

The cleaning levels can be improved. There were some cockroaches in the bathroom but in Dakar, so it's expected in this city. The bed is clean and comfortable :)

Breakfast is OK.Location is perfect. Near everything you need.Safe area.

    Traffic is sometimes crowded.

Location near port and train station

Ceiling paint falling off. Credit card facility not available for payment . Cost is more than advertised in hotel lobby as they charge booking.com commission extra. Breakfast was a drink and two croissants in a bag

The hotel is basic, but clean and the staff is very available and nice. There Is a nice internal terrace/garden where they serve breakfast.

The building is a bit old, but they keep it clean and comfortable. Internet connection is not working very well.

The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful! Beds were big and good in these deluxe rooms. Air conditioning is very good with many settings. Location is good. Restaurants/bars nearby. Taxi to airport is around 25 000. Thanks Issa and all

The location is great, after this not a lot else.

The staff verged on harassment, initially telling me the price on booking was wrong and showing me their room rates. The next day after explaining the booking system to them they then wanted more money for a tax already paid. The bathroom hasn’t got a door and the wall is half built. leaving no room for privacy, the pictures do not reflect the current condition and I’d suggest looking for a friendlier, better alternative.

    Location

No water. After walking around scorching Dakar all day I couldn't even take a shower!

    7AngelaPosted on: 3-14-2023

The location was perfect for a city centre hotel - close Independence Square, the museums and walkable to the port to Goree, There is no lift to the rooms but the rooms are cleaned well and comfortable. Tip: bring to the hotel an extension lead as there may be only one socket in the room. The hotel does not have a restaurant but there is a lovely bar just around the corner to get breakfast, lunch and dinner and has a tv screen for watching football, very tasty food and reasonably priced drinks called Imperial Bar. Overall a good 2* and will definitely stay again when visiting Dakar

The bathroom plumbing needed adjusting to improve the water drainage. The wi-fi needed to be stronger to stream

I like the room, it has all the basic requirements: confortable mattress, cleaness, A/C, TV with Canalsat.??

The issue is with other services, space for taking breakfast is not clean, breakfast (only a croissant and coffee), no ironing/ laundry service …

    8GuyPosted on: 3-6-2023

Situated just off the south east corner of the Place de la Independence (the only real landmark in this sprawling city) the hotel at first glance doesn't look all that great from the outside. The hotel is split between the reception, the sunny courtyard for breakfast & cheaper rooms with an annex two door up where I stayed. The basic ensuite rooms were large with air con and satellite TV. The breakfasts were good: fresh croissant from the bakery down the road, juice and very sweet coffee. Friendly management at a very competitive price for the money. The Imperial bar is just around the corner - good French food and ice cold Gazelles with loads of sour faced French expats - bliss !

The room was basic, but the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Plenty of hot water in the shower was nice. The location was just perfect for exploring Dakar - everything was within walking distance.

A bit noisy at night. It would have been nice if it was equipped with a door to the bathroom.

    The staff were helpful .

Seems like it's the local knocking shop.No hot or even warm water, that's when there was water.
