    Pros +

    • Room space is big enough;Location is good in Almadies area;
    • VERY COMFORTABLE DOUBLE Bed & Pilows, cold aircon, spacious rooms with lounge & fridge, English/French speaking receptionist with many good reccomendations for what to see and do in Dakar, good restaraunts around the hotel and the beach 15min walk, microwave and kitchen that you can use to reheat food, The owner has many local connections also, so that helped us to book tours etc. Would def stay again.
    • the owner is very friendly and polite, the hotel in general is clean and well decorated.

    Cons -

    • No elevator, if you have heavy luggage is not convenient.
    • The shower wouldnt drain (and for some reason there is no other drain hole in shower/toilet so often the bathroom would be flooded and water creep into the bedroom and have to contain it somehow.
    • The location is a little far from the main road and its difficult for Taxis to find the location some times. The towels provided are not the best, very hard and rough. We had to get our own towels.

The staff is very friendly and treat you like family. They really took good care of us and made sure we were okay. The A/C and hot water were amazing!

    The staff were friendly.

The bedsheet was stained with a hole in it and there was used bar soap in the shower. The walls were worn away. the breakfast was also lacking.

-Very nice and friendly staff who went out of their way to assist whenever they could. Especially the lady who works in the morning. We don't speak French well and she was very patient while we used Translate to help us get around and direct drivers to the property. -Great conversations with the hotel manager over drinks in the evening -The rooms are very spacious and clean for the most part (see below about my one bad experience). -Great WiFi.

-On my first night, the room I was given had just been vacated and had a strong smell of cigarettes. I asked them to clean it and open up the windows for a while which they did but the pillows and duvet were not clean and still had a strong smell of perfume/BO. It was late at this point and the staff had left so I was forced to sleep without the pillows and duvet (thankfully it wasn't cold). The next day I was moved to a different room and my stay was pleasant from then on. -The rooms could use a fresh coat of paint as they are not quite as per the pictures -A nice piece of artwork to liven up the rooms would be great!

The hotel manager Pape was helpful and accommodating. My cousin and I traveled between Senegal & Gambia and Pape helped guide us with restaurants recommendations, the local cost for taxis and more. He even communicated with us when we were making arrangement to return to Dakar from Banjul. He arranged a taxi driver to pick me up from the airport after midnight. Waited for me at the hotel to check in. I felt safe and comfortable at the hotel thanks to Pape. We were in constant communication via text/WhatsApp. He allowed me to check out late as my flight back home was at 10 on ish. .

We had issues with the bathroom but Pape fixed it immediately.

We had the most horrible experience at this hotel. During new years eve we were robbed during our sleep. Intruders stole our phones, laptop and watch but thank god not our passports or money (there is no safe in the room so we had to hide it). We reported it at the police station. We stayed at the first floor. Someone parked a mini van to have access. The sliding doors are easy to force, there were no cameras, it was a very quiet street and the guard was present but not making rounds. The police suspects that someone must have known what we were carrying in the room. The manager came in late in the morning, despite being informed, didn't inform the owner and offered us no compensation. We switched hotels that same day. Apart from the robbery, there were sex workers walking in and out, there was no generator and the food was overpriced (think radisson blu a la carte ) I'm happy we are in good health but this was a holiday nightmare. Never again! Ps this is the only negative thing I ever experienced in Senegal. Overall people are very friendly and peacefull.

The location if the hotel was really good, close to the main road and several restaurants to choose.

Our checking was 1 hour late and the toilette was broken when we got up. Right after we checked in to our room we hade asked them to come clean it and made excuses about the cleaner forget to finish the moping. The morning after we hade sewage water from the toilet all the way to the hall on our shoes. Our youngest threw up.We talked to them again with excuses and they cleaned up but told us that they would get it fixed by a plumber while we were out for the day. That was a f lie, we come back later that day and still water this time the smell was unbearable and the kids couldn't eat at the room. The "manager" (pa) comes confirms the horrible smell, again apologises and leaves.I ask to speak to the person in charge the morning after we talk to the actual owner Jean-pierre and the hade the nerve to blame it on our kids for breaking the toilet I am so pissed and mortified about the treatment and how they choose to handle this nightmare. And as an owner have the nerve to you poorly managed hotel across the world blame on a 3 year old. No accountability, no reasoning and not a single compensation for our weekend in sewageTHAT PISSED ME OFF!!!

    affordability, comfort, manager speaks English

difficulties with credit card machine functioning. I had to find an ATM to get cash as I was trying to check out.

Excellent behavior of owner and staff and very supportive attitude. Needs proper direction boards as the hotel is located on a subway.

The billing system should be standardized for international travelers.

I was little bit worried at first as I was traveling alone but Jean Pierre was so helpful and easy to contact from the moment I arrived. He explained me how to get to places, tarifs, guided me around the city and dropped me at the ferry station to visit Gore Island. The other staff members were also very kind and helpful, especially Pape who by the way cooks an excellent Thieb. It was my first trip to Sngal and I was very happy I chose JPad, the hotel is well located, very close to the beach and many restaurants at walking distance.I highly recommend JPad as I had a great experience. Thanks again to Jean Pierre !!

Nice rooftop terrace Friendly security guy Clean, well sized, room Comfortable bathroom

The booking of booking.com never reached the staff, leaving us waiting for one hour before we could enter a room (at 3.00 am in the morning). Breakfast was poor Double room were actually two single beds next to eachother We came in rains season and the taxi could not reach the hotel, we had to walk with our suitcases over mud to reach the entrance

Beautiful hotel that exceeded my expectations. The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind (even with my dog which is very rare in Dakar). For 4.000 they will do your laundry, which I think is a very fair price. The room was well equipped, clean and comfortable with a balcony, TV and closet. The bathroom is quite large. Lots of natural sunlight during the day with blackout curtains for the night. When I come back to Dakar, I will definitely stay here again!

When you leave with baggage its a bit difficult to get a taxi. You have to walk to the main road and call a taxi then return with him to the hotel to get your baggage and then leave. Its not a major inconvenience for me, but some people might find it frustrating.

its a nice modern room with Netflix on the TV. The owner is one of best people one can meet. He did me many favors that he didnt have to do. There is nice bar and seating area.

The support provided by the owner. He volunteered to take us to breakfast then our work place in his own car.

There was construction work the first night until late hour
