    • What a gorgeous place! Bed was comfortable, spacious bathroom, had a great soak in the hot tub. Views from the upper terrace are stunning. Short walk downhill to all the sights. Walking back up, you get a work out, but definitely worth it! Breakfast was delicious, the ladies were very nice. We used our translator with the staff, and they were very nice and helpful.
    • Beautiful room with amazing patio area and dining room. Staff were lovely and helpful. This is a fantastic hotel and would highly recommend.
    • This is an incredible property and a lovely green oasis. The decor and details have been very thoughtfully arranged. Everywhere you look is beautifully decorated and there are lovely places to sit and enjoy the outdoors and views. Nice breakfast and caring staff.

    Cons -

    • Nothing, loved it!
    • The room needed a sofa , even a small comfortable love seat for two would help to make your customers feel comfortable. The bench that was provided was hard and uncomfortable . No where to sit , it Was hard to relax in the room except sit on the bed . For the price we paid , I expect a place to sit comfortable . We Could not get the tv to work . The bathtub would not drain while taking a shower , so we had to stand in our own dirty water from showering and not have clean feet when we got out of the tub to put on our socks . It was long , Long climb up many steps to the room .

San Miguel is a city of endless beauty, every building is unbelievably picturesque. But this hotel exceeded all expectations. Behind a large wooden door lies an oasis of gardens, terraces, fountains. The common rooms (living, dining, kitchen) were beautifully decorated, very authentic. Our room was gorgeous with private roof patio with the best views in the city. The staff was kind and very responsive. We can’t say enough how much we loved this place. We will certainly come back!

The property is located within walking distance to city center, top of the hill.

The breakfast is included however, staff doesn’t start until after 8-8:30AM. So if you’re an early riser not ideal as you can’t even get coffee onsite. But, there’s a great coffee shop/bakery down the block! So not really a big

This was one of the best experiences I have ever had. So wonderful that I almost dont want to give away the secret. But the staff, location, food and experience was spectacular! The Hacienda is perfect down to every detail. The gardens and terraces are extraordinary. There were days we just stayed there for the afternoon just to soak up the beauty and history of the building. It is filled with plantings and art in every corner. Being able to stay there was a huge part of our experience in San Miguel. I look forward to ur return and grateful for getting to be part of it.

Only that we could have stayed longer.

The hotel was just beautiful. It was like stay in a fairy tail. The aroma, decor and views were just spectacular. My wife and I will definitely return on our next visit.

If I HAD to say one negative, which is hard to do, I would say that the soaps provided do not match the high quality of the hotel itself. It is such a small thing that I can't believe I am even saying it. LOL

Our recent stay at Hacienda Las Amantes was truly a unique and memorable experience, offering a refreshing alternative to the typical larger hotel setting. From the moment we arrived, we felt immersed in the charm and character of San Miguel de Allende. Each room has its own distinctive decor, thoughtfully curated to reflect the rustic, old-world ambiance that defines the city. The attention to detail—from antique furnishings to artisan touches—creates a warm and authentic atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. One of the highlights of our stay was the made-to-order breakfast each morning. It was not only delicious but also a lovely, personal touch that set the tone for relaxed and enjoyable days. The staff was welcoming and attentive, always ensuring we had everything we needed. The location couldn’t be better—just a short walk to the Centro, yet tucked away enough to offer a quiet retreat from the bustle of the main streets. Whether you're exploring the historic heart of the city or simply enjoying a peaceful moment at the hacienda, everything feels within reach. If you're looking for a more intimate, character-rich experience in San Miguel, we highly recommend Hacienda Las Amantes. It’s a special place that captures the spirit of the city in a way few larger hotels can.

The Jacuzzi was not working properly, and we were informed that the jets were malfunctioning.

Incredibly beautiful property in a historic building. The artwork and decorations throughout the property were fantastic. Very peaceful, lots of exterior places to sit.

This is an absolutely gorgeous property. If you like this colonial Mexican style, you are in for a real treat. Everything was simply perfect. The staff was wonderful, there when you need them, but quietly unobtrusive. The location was excellent

    Nothing that I didn’t like.

cleanliness, attentive staff, good breakfast and coffee, but the hotel and grounds themselves are what made it stand out the most. Three levels ,two rooftop terrazas, the most amazing plants, architecture, and decor were simply magical. The most beautiful and most unique place I’ve ever stayed. Five minute walk from the famous downtown and cathedral…

A privilege to stay in a historic stone hacienda with beautifully landscaped courtyards, private niches and rooftop terraces boasting Parroquia views giving the quintessential vibe of San Miguel de Allende. The rooms are beautifully and tastefully curated with precious artefacts and the bed very comfortable with quality soft linen. The typical Mexican tiled bathroom had excellent plumbing. The reception, night porter & kitchen staff were very personable, kind & efficient. It was a pleasure to come home to relax after a short uphill stroll from the Jardín.

Incredible opportunity to stay in this lovely old, exquisitely decorated property. The staff were kind, helpful and friendly.

    10KimPosted on: 2-16-2025

Every corner you walked around there was another beautifully decorated room or view to be seen. The landscaping was gorgeous, the staff was lovely and the views of the city were spectacular! We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit.

It was not a problem for us, however, if someone has issues with walking, this might not be the right place for you. There is a very steep hill to climb to get to the property and, once inside the front doors, there are many narrow stone staircases to ascend.

I was hesitant to book this hotel at the time due to limited reviews, but am so glad that I did. Honestly, one of the most beautiful and well maintained places we've ever stayed at. The staff was so accommodating, allowing us to check in early, serving amazing breakfasts and made us feel like we were welcomed guests. You have your entire run of the this place, as there are multiple seating areas, many with views of the city, as well as a small pool. We booked a room with a small balcony, and it was perfect for us. The rooms feel ancient, but have modern amenities and are very comfortable. This place is also perfectly located just outside the core of the city, so it's a little quieter and really only a 5 min walk to the busiest parts of town. Highly recommended.

We stayed in the room with the patio overlooking San Miguel and the view was so beautiful—one of the best views we had of the city. The property itself is also STUNNING. The photos definitely don’t do it justice. We loved just being at the hotel. The staff was kind and helpful. Don’t pass up an opportunity to stay here! It’s one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve stayed.

    10JamesPosted on: 10-3-2024

The property is extremely unique. Very old Spanish colonial and solid stone everywhere. If you want authenticity and beauty through design and architecture, this is thebplace for you. And the location and view are really exceptional. Haven't even mentioned the staff, who were fantastic.

This is not a negative, but customers should be aware that San Miguel is built on a hill, which means there are some streets that are quite steep. Also, you are in Mexico, and not everyone speaks English. So you shouldn't expect that! Communication with staff was always possible with a translation app.

Beautiful, charming hotel in a great location. Just two blocks to the big cathedral! We had low expectations because of the price and the photos. When we got there we were stunned. It was SO AMAZING!!! The staff were perfect. Armando helped us a lot and made us feel safe. Daniela was a great server and the cook prepared us the best breakfasts we had in Mexico. This hotel is a fantastic value. In front of my room was an outside area with a view of the city and the churches. The place was small and friendly. I recommend they get a professional photographer to take photos that do the place justice. It's much more beautiful than what you see.

Mosquitos in the room. But the other places we stayed at that had a lot of plants had the same issue.
