Tien Hotel Georgetown

Central location!

Airconditioning did not work in two rooms. Cooled a maximum of 2 degrees. Had horrible nights, hotel didn't fix the cooling issue. Contacted manager, but didn't do anything.

The suite was spacious, good location.

The bathrooms, lack of natural light, outside was loud, no fridge and small pool.

Much better than the ratings suggest. All rooms are really nice. Staff are helpful. Location is great, smack bang in the middle of Chulia. The courtyard suite is lovely. Nice bath and huge area

Noting much. No breakfast but there are plenty of great places nearby. Stairs is steep, something consider if elderly

Central location.

Room was very small. Bathroom was in the bedroom, enclosed in glass, and literally was a step from the bed. Bathroom had no door-only a curtain. No kettle in room. Had to use a shared space to make tea which was like a YMCA or student residence. No parking was available when we arrived,although advertised as having private parking. When I stated this, I was told to park on the street- not acceptable. We did get a space in the hotel opposite us the next day.

The location and the staff. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Great renovated Hotel, quaint and very clean. great area the roof top terrace the Jacuzi (not a pool) very clean and greatFantastic location ....as it is on Chulia street can be a little noisy but the triple glazing really works. !we will come back here in aheart beat , free parking across the street at the Chulia Mansion (same owners)What a wonderful place at less than 260 RM per night.

You need a (cheap) Microwave in the Kitchen area.....and thst's all

The location was great and very convenient to the local bars and restaurants. The suite was spacious and had high ceilings.

The toilet was see through visible to the shower and sink as well was the room. The painted glass wasn’t enough to cover. The roof top pool was small and felt falsely advertised from the pictures on line. No restaurant or bar as mentioned online.

The location was great, really close to the sites and eateries. The staff we did interact with were friendly.

The air-conditioning unit was extremely loud and difficult to operate, with the controller often not working. When it rained, the sound on the corrugated roof in the terrace area made it difficult to sleep. There was some noise from the street, but this was expected given the location.When we booked, we were under the impression that the front desk would be manned in the evening, which wasn't the case, and it was difficult to get our bags down the stairs to the main entrance when we left early in the morning, as there was no one on the desk.

The location is good.

The sound from the pubs with loud music till 3 am is disturbing. There is a particular pub spinning DJ music with the front door opened is kinda weird.

staff were very helpful when they were present. location is good for old town. shower was strong.

they are not always present or reachable. room was not made daily. i wanted fresh towels but no one was around during the day to help. sound partition was poor. heard next room coughing all night.

the facilities are slightly worn - obvious stain on cushion, corner of wall with crack and pocket of water.pool looked big but actually just sufficient for 1 person to swim in be prepared to carry your luggage up stairs, no lift access

I cannot highlight anything positive about my stay.

My stay at this hotel was miserable. The worst hotel I have ever been to. Lots of dirt behind the beds (including a fork, a handkerchief and lots of dust), hair on the floor, the bathroom in very bad condition, towels with holes and the worst thing is that it had bedbugs. I couldn't spend even one night there.

Location

Street noise and adjoining room noise. Very loud noise from neighbours using simple items such as hairdryers. Room wall, connecting doors and windows need to be improved to improve silence.

Modern, clean rooms. Intimate and quirky. Central to everything in George Town. Would recommend, just take note of my negatives. Special shout out to the Manager and assistant who organised a great driver for us to use at a reasonable price. They also organised a later checkout on our last day.

Pool was under maintenance. Would have picked a different hotel if we'd known. One of the reception staff spoke absolutely no English, all others were fantastic. They advertise that their reception is open until 11pm but when we arrived there was a sign on the door saying closes at 7pm and to ring a mobile number. Someone did come quite quickly but a momentary panic at 10pm at night.

No breakfast but great bakery nearby as the hotel is in a central location

Rooms were not cleaned for the week we were there. We had to ask for clean towels and more toilet paper

I don't recommend this 'hotel' to anyone.

This is by no means a 4*, as stated in booking.com. With some good will we could call it a 3*, most probably a 2*. The images do not correspond to the reality.I really hope that booking.com reviews its classification criteria, otherwise it will seriously damage its credibility.

The suite is surprisingly big for us two. The bed was comfy, toilet was clean.

Room beautification is good but all wall surfaces, false roof along with corners are full of dust. Seems they didn't clean those surfaces in the last few months. No hand shower which is a discomfort. Male care taker is good but girls assist for checking are not friendly especially Indian girl.

- no reception after 7pm- noisy environment (from neigbouring room and bars closeby)- bathroom has curtain only (no proper door)- sliding door for shower had issue (but got fixed quickly after I reported it)- pool on rooftop very small and water was not clean. Would not use it.
