Sweet Cili Boutique Hotel

nice rooms for a small family, like us 5. they got duplex type of rooms, powerfull shower, not every hotels can offer this kind of water pressure, room which easily can accommodate 5 pax, with 1 queen bed & 2 single bed upstairs with a very reasonable price. location also great, really close to all mkn2 places, Armenian street etc. the problem only parking, they have 3 designated parkings only, you have to find nearby if all occupied. surely we will pick this nice hotel to stay for our next trip to Penang.

Relaxing atmosphere in the guesthouse with coffee available in the common area downstairs. The room is nice, just big enough for two as well as the bathroom with a shower. The staff is friendly and helpful.

A little slow on the housekeeping and some minor maintenance issues.

The location is great to discover the city on foot and the staff is really kind. Comfortable bed and drinking water always available in the common area.

The overall cleaning of the room, including towels, could be improved. Also, the bathroom door is not fully closed.

The location was perfect-very close to coffee shops restaurants and places to grab a drink. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The check in was smooth and there was always someone at the front desk to assist 24/7. Definitely recommend.

The room was clean and big enough. The staffs were friendly and helpful. Free refillable water and coffee. Location was also excellent!

The room was not soundproof and we can clearly hear noises from outside (thankfully the staffs and the hotel was quite so it didnt bother us at all)

Very cute and cozy hotel and room located very central in George Town - very sweet staff that provided a room for us on the 1st floor as we wished for, and super easy communication via WhatsApp. The air condition worked perfectly!

We stayed at sweet Cili during Thaipusam, and the area is very lively and loud some days! We enjoyed staying in the centre of the celebrations and it was so fun to witness the traditional celebrations right next to the hotel - but be aware that it will be noisy some days late in the evening and early in the morning if you stay here during thaipusam :)

The decorations are cute and cozy.

The toilet is smelly... And the room soundproofing need to be improve, it was super loud every time vehicles passed by.

Great location, close to the jetties, city center, and food court. Right next to a lovely bar and dessert place too.

I stayed for 4 nights in Room 1 , which is behind the lobby and next to the staff toilet. so I had 4 nights of bad and interrupted sleep because of noise coming from both areas. I don’t blame the staff, they were really great, I just think that is a design flaw. Also the room did not look the same as was indicated on Booking.com.

Everything. What I like the most is that the staffs were friendly. I requested for prayer mat but the hotel doesn't provide any but the lady at reception gave us towels to replace the prayer mat. Very helpful and she was very friendly. The hotel was clean. Love the seating area space next to my bed. Hotel provides body wash/shampoo and toothbrushes.

Hotel only have 3 parking spaces.

The staff were nice, they let us see the inside of the hotel rooms before we booked. There is a common room (pantry) area for us to have some coffee or water. Wish they prepare some biscuits or sell some bread or kuih there, would have been nice. My daughter accidentally broke a glass in the pantry area, but the staff was very accommodating and helped cleaned up.The unit is tastily decorated, my family loved it. Would have been good if there is 2 toilets :)We walked to some festival nearby and scoot around with electric motorcycles.We loved the overall experience, might come back - but maybe we might also want to try other hotels nearby next time to see how it compares

At night it was somehow noisy, maybe the noise from the bars nearby.

It is a quaint little place with retro style furnishings. Free filtered water, and tea and coffee is available.

My room shared a wall with the bar next door. Meaning I had a front row seat for the music blaring from the bar. I asked the staff when the music will turn off, and they asked me when I wanted it to be turned off! It was after 9:30 pm when I finally asked them to do something so I could go to sleep. I had booked for 6 nights, but after the first night, I realised it would be impossible to have a nice holiday in a room filled with bar music.

It’s very noisy during the night as it is located near to the road and noise protection is very bad.

I wanted to complain about the website photo shows room type and price was a different one which I had experienced. the hotel management did not give a explanation and they said the photo’s room is based on a reference only. if booking.com can not respond with this issue then I won’t place order again by booking .com

Staff was efficient, but could be friendlier

I think the location is quite good, just that if you have a lot of places you would like to eat and do in the more upbeat side of town, it can be a little far from Chulia area. Nevertheless, Grab was easy to get and drivers have no problems locating us.

This hotel does not have a lift. So it is not recommended for guests with large luggages or travelling with a person who might not have strong knees/ good physical condition.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Facility has common refrigerator, fresh hot or cold water, water boiler in room, tea & coffee, A/C. Decent internet. Location just a three minute walk to the clan jetties; 15 minutes to heart of George Town. Restaurants nearby. Great value for the price. We had two large, heavy bicycle suitcases. Our room was on the ground floor, so this made it very convenient rather than having to carry them up the stairs.

TV reception was spotty at times. Music from bar next door could be heard at night when we first went to bed.
