The Palm Suite @Lava Mansion

The location is fantastic — right next to the beach with a private access gate and dedicated car park, which made everything very convenient and relaxing. The property itself is stylish and modern. We booked the 2-bedroom suite and really liked the layout, especially the spacious design and the large bathroom, which was very comfortable for our family stay.

However, we did face an issue during check-in when our booking was reassigned to a standard 1-room unit with two beds. This didn’t work for us as we were travelling with an elderly mum and specifically needed the extra space. It took some tense and stressful negotiation before it was eventually sorted out and we got the correct unit. Thankfully, things worked out in the end, but the process could have been smoother.

Near George Town, Northern beach cafe ( food court), Batu Cafe , staff very friendly and room are clean.

The hotel is in a convenient area of George Town, within walking distance to places like Northam Beach and close to popular spots like Komtar and Penang Times Square. Large, well-appointed rooms with plenty of space — perfect for families or groups.

My stay at Palm Lava Mansion was extremely disappointing, mainly because of the rude and unprofessional behavior of the manager, Nazz, who told me that if I had a problem, I should leave and ask Booking.com for a refund, instead of offering any help. When I asked about the hotel rating, she said they are only a 3-star hotel, even though Booking.com lists them as 4 stars, which is misleading. There was no staff to assist with luggage, and the rooms were unsuitable for elderly guests with mobility issues. Basic amenities like extra blankets were not available, and the environment lacked privacy with dim lighting and mosquitoes coming from the bathroom. This experience was unacceptable and deserves immediate attention from both hotel management and Booking.com.

The property, was clean, comfortable,quiet,and great customer service.

The TV was in Chinese and very difficult to understand. But for all is ok

The front desk woman is very nice and helpful. It's a couple of minutes away from a really cool cafe. Room is very large.

Ants in the bathroom. Hot tub is not really a hot tub. Ground floor room which was not communicated to me. Very confusing which switches are for the lights, AC, Fan, etc.

- Entrance to the hotel is hard to spot—needs a clearer signboard from the main road- Toilet door lock wasn’t functioning properly- Room near reception lacked soundproofin

The size of the room is awesome, at night the area is quiet as well

There were many ants in the toilet, the entrance to the hotel is very hard to find , the room corners are not that clean as well

The suite has two rooms so can have kids near but but space

The family room is spacious, the towels are clean, the location is within 10mins-30mins of most places we want to visit. There is a nice pub served with food and drinks facing the waters.

There were 2 beds in our room. I had some bed bug bites on one of the beds. The back window is sealed but I can still smell the smoke coming in when some employees are resting and smoking right outside. Bath amenities are basic - It would be good if there is conditioner & bed room slippers provided. The bidget in the toilet did not make sense. When turned on, the water from a different pipe came out instead of coming out from the bidget, We tried fitting the bidget into the pipe which the water came from but the hole to the hose did not match. Looks like a design fault to me. One of the drawer at the TV console is spoilt, the base is detached and completely useless. The beds are very hard in my view. There is a small coffee table which is shaky and slanted. The toilet and room has a drainage smell, lucky I brought my aroma therapy diffuser along upon reading the reviews from others. The wifi signal is weak, sometimes netflix gets jammed.

The bedroom doors didn’t have a handle - it felt like you were in a cupboard.The ‘pool’ is in your room - it is a deep bath, which you have to fill with water for your own use. It’s a very odd place.

It would have been nice if they had mentioned that the room could only be accessed tjrough a flight of very steep stairs, as my mother is 82 yrs old.She found it very chalenging to negotiate the steps.

It is clean, nice and quiet. Also love the fact that it is just a short walk to the oceanfront.

Really good location and the outside of the building is deceiving as the rooms are really good. Short distance from George town. I would highly recommend it.

Not much

The 2 king bed, the decoration. And valuable price. Very spacious room

I don't like the spa bathtub, because my parents can't get in for shower. They can't step in. Their mobility is limited (foot pain). They have to take a shower at the sink.

The room is very spacious, beautiful and modern style. The price is reasonable. It's a good stay with family. The kids really enjoyed the bath tub.

The wifi is not strong enough to support the Netflix or you tube. But it's okay cause still can enjoy the normal tv station.

I was been promised that, the beach behind the property but when go there , the staff inform me to go to batu feringgi. I have troubles with the TV to be on ,the.staf did not come to help me ,says that time to go home
