Chulia Heritage Hotel

Strategic location, free parking and the room cleanliness. Unexpected the availability of choice in TV channels with the value that paid which serve for all types of races.

A bit scary feel on the current status in 1st floor which now closed for occupancy.

The hotel is within walking distance of bars, restaurants and nightclubs

I stayed in room 125 which is 3 meters from the reception. There is a gap of 3-4 cm under the door and there is no sound insulation. So it is constantly a noise in your room from people talking, etc. Sleeping was impossible for me. Pillows are too hard.

The experience will be much better if the conception could suggest an upgrade of the room with extra fee at check-in. As the assigned room is tiny and the toilet is the smallest ever.

Very good location as the hotel is in the middle of the city. Easy access to famous Penang street foods, tourist spots in the city, souvenir shops, restaurants, etc. We can just walk anywhere within the city.Very friendly hotel staff - both security staff and reception team.

Need to take special care when using the bathroom as the floor is rather slippery. Same feedback for both rooms (we booked 2 rooms for this trip).

Very bad experience

The room is very small with one side of the bed pushed against the wall. The bathroom has no room for shower as the shower head is directly above the toilet seat. We can't even hang a towel in the bathroom as it will be all wet. Strange hotel policy with only one room card is provided. The room is super hot as it's west facing and we can't leave the aircon on as the room automatically turns the air con off once you leave the room.

The location is great, it’s just off the main road so you can’t hear cars or noise. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff are incredibly helpful, kind and friendly.

The bathroom was slightly small but it didn’t bother us.

Location was great. Typical Malaysian mid level construction makes this place noisey at odd hours. Lots of tile and slamming doors at all hours from inconsiderate guests makes you think about returning to Malaysia without a bigger wallet. Too bad. The location and staff were great.

Lots of deferred maintenance here. I had to tighten the screws in my door lock as it wobbled upon entry. Any staff should see this and see that it gets fixed. I’m sure all the doors are the same.

Very quiet, in the middle of chulia street with plenty of restaurants and stalls around.Armenia street is not far away, as is the mosque and the jetty

Found some hair on the floor the very first day. Mot mine.

Great location, just 5 mins walk to chulia street hawkers. Nice heritage feel to the hotel.

There is no separation for the toilet and shower. The shower head is literally above the toilet. But nothing too bad, just weird.

The cleanliness and the location on Chulia Street at a very good price .

The only negative is that the fridge in the room does not operate cold .

Location is fabulous right near to all Heritage attractions. Clean rooms with white bedding and lovely towels make all the difference. Always stay here if possible when we visit Penang

Hot communal area however it did have small air con units for a little respite from the heat. Would love a fridge in the room

Very poor bathroom. Lack of basic furniture. Luggage on the floor.

hard to find restaurant open around the area on the 1st day of chinese new year but that's ok because it's a festive day

Good location and clean room.

My 2nd room where my aunt used - her sleep was constantly interrupted on both nights by staff who were going in and out of the staff toilet where they spoke loudly and laughing.

When enter the room, there was a strange smell and we need to open the window for air circulation.

Room was as expected, as advertise.. location is superb, all hotspot walking distance. room is clean . staff are friendly.. commended natasha.

The hotel is located in the heart of the Georgetown UNESCO Heritage site and surrounded by many interesting places and numerous varieties of foods. The room is clean with a comfortable bed though it could have been better with the shower system.

The WiFi signal is very weak in the rooms, but very fast and strong at the reception area. More WiFi routers are highly recommended.
