    Pros +

    • Traditional style, boutique.
    • Beautiful spacious suite with antique furniture, felt like a movie set. Friendly staff, prime location, strong air conditioning.
    • The front office staff were sooo nice! The restaurant stunning, rooms comfy and BEAUTIFULL

    Cons -

    • Could hear loud music from nearby bars.
    • Light comes in from top windows from courtyard making it a little difficult to sleep I should’ve brought my eye mask
    • Staff response time to requests was a bit erratic. Scaled breakfast options would be great--lighter fare, full breakfast.. Extra coffee capsules in the room would be nice.

This is a wonderfully renovated refined old clan house, inhabited by the true Chinese-Malayan Spirits. The team is great, giving you a lot of good information about the many attractions and food places of George Town. A house to remember!

The food. Great restaurant on the premises. Room layout is great for families with the high ceiling and loft. Just enough privacy.Loved the period decor/furniture.

Staff response time to requests was a bit erratic. Scaled breakfast options would be great--lighter fare, full breakfast.. Extra coffee capsules in the room would be nice.

Had a lovely stay at 7 terraces. It's in a nice location to walk around Georgetown. The room was beautifully restored and had all the facilities you'd need - comfy beds and even a nesspreso machine. There is a nice pool area too. The staff were very helpful when we needed a trip to a doctor. They showed great kindness that was very appreciated. We stayed in one of the apartments with 4 adults- there was a double and 2 single beds (upstairs) it was spacious and comfortable with a nice little roof terrace. Sometimes these kinds of places can feel a little stuffy, but not here. The staff were so friendly. It has a lift to the 2nd floor - but be mindful there are steps here and there due to the age of the property.

Very roomy 1 bedroom apartment in the Argus wing. There is a large sitting room downstairs with a large bathroom, the bedroom is upstairs with a balcony and separate toilet. All staff were nice, the reception people were always smiling, I think one of the receptionists was called Jolon as she was very helpful. There was a set menu breakfast with about 5 items on it which was very nice. The hotel is in a quiet street but still close enough to many restaurants and other types of eating venues.

Some people might find the internal staircase to the bedroom a bit steep.

Outstanding service, incredibly friendly and efficient. Authentic asthetic. Perfect location in heritage area. Wonderful breakfast and fabulous onsire restaurant, the Kebaya. Highly recommended.

Everything was perfect. Incredible hotel! From the position, decor, staff. Everything was absolutely perfect. Special thanks to Joyce at the reception for her help organising my visit of the town.

    Nothing at all!

The location is perfect to explore the historical area of Georgetown. It is avery unique old hotel with beautiful architectural style. Staff friendly and welcoming.

TV reception is poor.Shower head is too high.

We loved the traditional design and antique furnishings in this historic "Nyonya" style building. It was in a quiet back road in a central location with lots of cafés and restaurants nearby. After walking through busy and hot Georgetown, it felt like coming back to a calm, cool sanctuary. The staff were very friendly, happy to chat and helpful.

There was a lot of attention to detail with the antique room decor, but the cheap plastic bins didn't fit in. Due to the old building and the way the bathroom was added, the hand shower was in an odd location. Cleanliness in the bathroom could have been better. We loved our stay at the Seven Terraces!

Seven Terraces was quite a special place to stay. The heritage vibe is quite lovely but it wouldn't mean much without the staff - everyone was so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was the terraced duplex suite, Stewart St side, bed downstairs, living room and single bed upstairs. It's a luxurious space to retreat to in the hottest part of the day - and a pool downstairs with free tea and snacks in mid afternoon. The hotel has done a fantastic job of updating the rooms with mod cons (including two aircon units, multi plug and USB sockets) while preserving the old world charm. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the old town - a short walk to so many delicious restaurants Including the hotel's restaurant Kebaya) and an easy Grab ride everywhere else. I was concerned the room might get a bit loud, being on the Stewart St side with an open air bar around the corner, but there's wooden shutters and then doors between the bathroom and the bed and it was all surprisingly quiet. I even fell asleep in the middle of fireworks.

What a beautiful hotel. Really traditional Chinese styling. Location is great but just off the main street so nice and quiet. Loved every minute staying there.

They were so helpful in finding my sunglasses and I’m so grateful! Their staff is really helpful and friendly. The room is charming and the pool area and breakfast room were lovely. I had a great stay.

Hotel is located in a quiet back alley steps away from hustle and bustle of Chulia Street, one block away from Little India. Beautiful, traditional Chinese interior design, furniture and room decor. Inside the rooms all modern conveniences including well functioning AC, Wi-Fi, TV, refrigerator and safe. Charming, helpful staff that greet and bid farewell to guests outside the front door. Quick help with luggage and efficient room cleaning. Daily snacks and tea at poolside at 3pm. Top-notch Kebaya restaurant on premises (advance reservations needed for dinner). Breakfast is served a la carte in one of the beautifully decorated rooms downstairs. Special thanks go to Nurul for her smiling face and for professional attention to all our needs.

Just a suggestion to perhaps offer more breakfast choices, such as yogurt, cereals and dim sum.

The hotel is a beautiful, traditional building with lovely rooms, comfy beds, friendly staff and a nice pool.

A few hours after checking in we learned that the restaurant and bar would not be available to us for 3 out of 4 nights as there were weddings on both the Saturday and Sunday and then a birthday party on the Monday. The problem with that, we found out, is that as most of the rooms are right on the courtyard that is used as the main function space there is no escape from what's going on there. We felt like intruders at a very private family party every time we came back or stepped out of our room as we had to pass through the functions - and an afternoon sleep to help with our jet lag from London was out of the question while speeches etc for the weddings took place. Then the evening disco on the Monday had really loud pumping music right under our room and echoing around the courtyard so we couldn't sleep. There were other guests outside their rooms all looking on in disbelief. When we complained to reception about the music, the person there called the general manager who was very rude to us and basically didn't even vaguely understand why the pumping disco was a problem. We should have been informed when we booked that the place was going to be taken over by functions and that the restaurant and bar would not be available to us. Had we known this we would have booked somewhere else that was tranquil and had all the normal hotel facilities available to us. When we raised the issue again on checkout they offered us one free breakfast. It was a really disappointing start to our trip to Malaysia. The management needs to decide if this a tranquil heritage hotel or is it a function and party hotel? Being both may work for some hotels but because the rooms and restaurant are all on the central courtyard/function space it doesn't work as both.

Fantastic heritage building in the heart of George Town. Our room was fantastic, with bedroom and a second floor bed and lounge. Decorated and styled with antiques so right for the period setting. Shaded peaceful pool area.

Very minor point - early morning noise from the refuse collectors in road outside. Consequence of being so central.

    9EvelienPosted on: 1-9-2025

A beautiful hotel in the middle of bustling Georgetown. The room was very spacious , as well as the bathroom. A nice swimming pool to cool down after a warm day! Location is perfect.

Swimming pool has no sun, unfortunately (but you can take your sun bed and move it to a sunny place). The breakfast was a bit disappointing, not a lot of choices - especially if you stay for 5 days.

Wonderful boutique hotel in the heart of Georgetown. Impeccable refurbishment. Full of antiques. Definitely met expectations and more.
