About

Family-run for nearly 500 years, the Dollinger is set at the foot of the Nordkette Mountains in the northern part of Innsbruck. It offers limited free parking, surcharged parking located nearby and a breakfast buffet. All rooms provide bathroom amenities, satellite flat-screen TVs and a safe, as well as free Wi-Fi access. The restaurant of the Dollinger serves Austrian and especially Tyrolean cuisine either indoors, or in the beautiful garden, shaded by old chestnut trees. The Dollinger will organize a free ski bus in winter and a hiking bus in summer. The Inn Valley Bicycle Trail goes past the hotel, as are numerous hiking tracks. The Innsbruck Old Town, the famous Golden Roof and the Court Church are 0.9 mi from the Dollinger and can be easily reached either within a 20-minute walk or a few minutes by bus. The Hungerburgbahn, a funicular leading to the Alpine Zoo of Innsbruck, is nearby.

    • great breakfast, more than expected. the staff were the best. they even reserved us a cab and when i needed to change the cab for an earlier time after they had left, they were still able to help me
    • Large and clean room: even though it was a quad room, it was spacious enough not to feel closed in. Breakfast was abundant and good. The hotel restaurant had a good selection of food, at decent prices, and large portions - you never leave hungry. The staff were friendly and helpful. Top marks especially go to (we learnt later) the owners' daughter at reception. She was super helpful, explaining everything, from attractions, to the welcome card, bus routes and more. Her friendliness, enthusiasm and perfect English are truly superb assets for this historic hotel. The hotel is situated within 25 minutes' easy walk from the old city centre, or a quick bus ride away (free with the welcome card), with the bus stops right behind the hotel.
    • Very nice room and lovely breakfast. Staff all seemed to enjoy their jobs.

    Cons -

    • The only 2 negative points I can find for this hotel are:1: The bathroom has a sliding frosted glass door. Unfortunately, there is quite a gap between it and the wall when closed. Zero privacy, unfortunately. We got around it by sticking a blanket in the end of the rail, covering the gap.2: The pillows. Can't keep their shape - no real support
    • Walls are a little on the thin side and folks should know that the hotel is located quite away outside of central Innsbruck- about a half hour walk.
    • Broken towel dryer rack. Bedside light broken.

Everything about this hotel was truly top‑notch, exceeding expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that every detail had been carefully thought out to create an exceptional guest experience. The dining options deserve special praise—dinner at the on‑site restaurant was absolutely outstanding, with beautifully prepared dishes, rich flavors, and a warm, inviting atmosphere that made the evening unforgettable. Breakfast the next morning was equally impressive, offering a generous variety of fresh, high‑quality options that catered to every taste and made for a perfect start to the day. Every element of our stay felt elevated, polished, and genuinely memorable.

The only aspect of this hotel that I would consider changing would be the beds. While so many other elements of our stay were exceptional, the beds unfortunately did not meet our usual high standards for comfort. They felt firmer and less supportive than we had hoped, and after such a long day of travel and activities, we were really looking forward to a restful night’s sleep. A simple upgrade in mattress quality or bedding would make an already outstanding hotel experience truly perfect.

Very clean, great breakfast, quiet, great location to walk the path along the river and go to the cool town. There was no need to drive anywhere, since we had not planned to do more than that. When you are facing the building, the parking entrance is on the left side of the building. The receptionist will give you a code to drive back there.

Just know that the 70s style is new; it's not old stuff. It is only made to look 70s, i.e. the shag carpet in one area of the room and the colors of the decorations.

The hotel was very nice, the beds comfortable, the breakfast buffet was extensive, and their restaurant served very tasty fare

There really was nothing not to like

Just a short stroll into the older parts of Innsbruck. Very friendly staff and Tomas’s house wine, which he blends himself, was a nice touch.

Location was easily accessible by bus. We travelled to Innsbruck on train from Zurich and was able to get the bus from the train station straight to the hotel. Register with the hotel prior to arrival so that you can get the Innsbruck tourist pass which gives you free travel on local buses and free or reduced entry to various sightseeing spots. This is really highly recommended. Nice view of the mountains from the hotel. We had a large room which was comfortable. Breakfast is good with essentials available but now a huge variety but sufficient. Hotel feels cosy with a family run feel.

Room amenities limited. No shower cap, slippers etc. just soap and shampoo from dispenser. I always feel that this extra touch makes the hotel feel more homely and also less stress for travellers to have to carry.

Easy location on buses or 25 minute walk to central station or 15 mi uses to closest station

Lovely breakfast and clean rooms! Cheaper than any place closer to the old town and easy to reach by tram/bus/ on foot.

Lovely hotel in a great location, food superb and staff very friendly and helpful

Front desk was very helpful. They booked a taxi for me on the return journey. Also, gave me advice on driving into Italy through the Alps in the winter.Having the restaurant in the motel is pretty helpful but make sure you have reservations for the weekends.

Putting two twins/fulls together is not a comfy sleeping experience. You cannot spread out in the middle of the bed.I think my room was advertised as a Full or a Queen. The comforters were also too small and built to fit each individual bed that were combined. Not the best sleeping experience.

Old facilities but clean! Looks better in the picture.Breakfast very weak

This is a no-frills-hotel that seemed clean. The rooms remind me of a basic and clean motel in the US. It might be a good choice for a ski trip to Innsbruck area. I'm not sure how it compares to nicer hotels in the area... and if it is much cheaper than it will do the job for a quick in and out trip, but it was nothing to call home about.

For us, we were a little bit disappointed. We had been planning to stay two extra nights in Germany at a hotel that was about $75 less per night... it was INCREDIBLE. We decided to change our travel plans so we could see some of Austria and we chose Dollinger as our hotel. It was rated similarly to the one we were already in, and we were having a great experience. We found the rooms to be very basic, no frills, moderately comfortable. We were disappointed we had left the hotel an hour down the road and paid more to boot. The rooms felt clean at least, but not our favorite stay.

Practical for a 1 night stay and close to the zoo and cable car. Breakfast was included and a good breakfast it was, with lots of choices for a good start to the day. The room was clean and tidy with reasonable facilities. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The room had a kettle but no tea/coffee in the room, although tea bags were available from reception on request.

Good breakfast and tasty scrambled egg, friendly and accomodating staff

    the pillows are too soft

Electronic book in made things simple. The hotel looked after cases for us on our last day. Friendly staff, very helpful. Very clean, quiet rooms. Really good breakfast. All good really.

First world problems but..........would have liked a toaster at breakfast. We had a kettle in the room but no tea or coffee. Other than that, great.
