Breakfast was good and staff at breakfast friendly

Staff at reception unfriendly Hotel is very tired

Room was very spacious and had a nice view.

Long walk up and down the length of the inn. But considering the age of the inn it is what I should have expected.

Lovely room, great view, kind staff, great breakfast.

A bit expensive for what you get…

Mty room was a little noisy and no view at all except daylight.

Location is the main seller for this property, room was clean and bathroom recently renovated , reception was helpful , good TV reception, decent breakfast , services seemed quite good and staff helpful

I don't think this place will meet the expectation of a four start hotel , maybe 3 , taking in consideration that this is an old building there are still things that can be improved to make it in to a great 4 star hotel - Room - the furniture in the room is outdated and could do with a clean - Spa - sauna and hot tub are not included, you need to pay for them- Hotel - the hotel needs a deep clean and at least a carpet change as the wear on it is quite extensive, overall the hotel didn't gave me a nice feeling that you would expect from a 4 star hotel - Restaurant - service could be improved with attention to serving, while the staff was nice and pleasant i had to wait for a good while for my chips to be brought with my steak while desert took at least 15 minutes ...

Gorgeous views!!!!! Beautiful, historic hotel. Excellent food and service in the bar. I think I read it’s under new ownership. It has tremendous potential with just a little Tender Loving Care to be exceptional.

Needs updating. Elevator out of service, new staff didn’t seem to know things, carpet could be replaced, fresh flowers were fading - beautiful historic property that just needs a little TLC.

Mary the receptionist was ever so helpful and very informative . Lovely to see the staff been so nice and ensuring you have a lovely stay .

Access to the rooms ,but it didn't ruin our stay

Lovely and clean, stunning location. Really enjoyed the shower and the breakfast

I loved the age of the hotel. The thought of all the previous visitors who had stayed there. I loved the stairs that linked the buildings that were added as time passed on. I loved the thought of sharing the space with celebrities of by gone ages. I loved imagining how the hotel was in their time and how it compared with now.

Our bathroom was a little cramped with little space for our necessities etc

The wifi was absolutely non existent which is extremely poor for anybody working!!

Heating not working properly first night but quickly fixed the next morning.

Relaxation …Adrien was excellent in the bar a great personality and he worked the bar very well…bar food was excellent…

Breakfast was poor and Greasy ..Bacon you would need a steak knife to cut it…at Reception they can be very loud with people ,and personality was poor with people working at reception…

Beautiful place in a great location. Right by the ferry to Garinish Island. Short walk to the centre of Glengariff Town. Great spa - I had a lovely facial treatment and the facilities + relaxation room were great. Pity about the jacuzzi: only 2 tubs are available which you have to book a time slot for - we ended up unable to use the tub although we had technically paid for it! They told us are slots were booked up. Breakfast was fantastic. Dinner at their pub was OK - unfortunately they only serve dinner till 7pm! Dessert (fruit crumble) was divine. VERY comfortable beds. Great branded toiletries from their spa - a luxurious touch to the room. Another great thing was the robes - although one size, they were very roomy and comfortable (always a plus if you're a tall/Curvy individual!). Would stay again!

Staff were so friendly and helpful. Fantastic to see old pictures and equipment from times gone by. Hotel was spotless.

Reception staff lacked warmth and overly business like. No conversing or chat on check in /out or even when I phoned prior to arrival. Spa staff were lovely on phone however when we arrived it seemed very unorganised. Treatment was nice. We were not able to use hot tub as it was booked out however this was not discussed or any other option discussed when we arrived at treatment. It seemed that we could have used it as we were told we could avail of our drink at the hot tub. We ended up taking our drink back to the rooms as we were left in the relaxing room with nobody checking in on us for a long period and had dinner booked. Liked the breakfast

Food was ok. Service was a bit messy, spilling of drinks, no cutlery for starters for kids.

Loved the whole experience of the hotel, the view in the morning looking over Bantry Bay, great sitting having a coffee in the foyer, breakfast was great, the restaurant staff were friendly, attentive and professional. We will definitely return.

My first stay in Eccles and would definitely return. Did not get to spend much time in the hotel itself but when we were there we were very happy. Staff were very friendly, Bar food was gorgeous and great value. Only a short walk to the town. If a view is important to you ensure to pay the extra and book a Sea View room. Would return and recommend.
