Pros +
- Great location, near family.
- Staff were courteous and reassuring when we arrived to find the boiler had broken down and no hot water etc. After a short delay to ensure the boiler was repaired we were able to check in and found the heating was back on. So they pleasantly handled an awkward situation.
- The staff were friendly and helpful
Cons -
- You couldn’t have a cup of tea in your room. There was only chocolate to drink.
- The bar area was a bit cold and bland, but the restaurant was fine to eat in.
- The rooms had a bad unkept smell. The bedding had stains. It was a really uncomfortable sleep due to the smell in the room. This was the second room we had been moved to due to the smell. The sofa bed was not clean and had a brown stain too. Just would not go back there and not recommended at all. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The bar and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful.
The room wasn't stocked up properly. I had to keep asking for things. I don't like the new brand of tea. Only one choice, Tetley which I dont like. No herbal teas or any choice. If you are not a coffee drinker then 2 teabags for all day wasn't good and buscuits not stocked up. I had fo ask for toilet rolls and tissues. My door was also locked the next day and no one on reception to help. Tne restaurant staff were lovely and gave me a complimentary tea. But I was wasting my time asking for things that should be standard.
The breakfast was excellent, everything was perfectly cooked and my wife asked specifically for poached eggs which was duly cooked without delay.
Wanted to thank the staff for the excellent service via the receptionist who unfortunately was sitting in the staff room chatting as it was a quiet period.
Staff were friendly, Location was perfect for everyone to reach and depart from.
Room was terribly small for two people, the bed was no bigger than an oversized single bed.the bathroom was just about big enough to move in and out of and only 1 bath towel for 2 people.the housekeeper just let themselves into the room along with the window cleaner, it was a good job my partner had time to cover up.I had arranged for 9 rooms for family members to stay as they were attending my Mothers 90th Birthday Celebrationwhen we returned to the hotel we were advised that we could not purchase alcohol and sit in the Lounge Area opposite reception, But they were quite happy for us to take to our rooms and drink thus potentially upsetting other paying guestswho were not part of our group.
The staff were fabulous and the food was great.
The bar and restaurant had very little atmosphere. Felt clinical rather than cosy and no areas for a party larger than 4 to sit comfortably in the bar.Bits of the room felt 'tired' - especially the bathroom. Despite this, it was clean.
The location was good for what we needed to do.Staff were very friendly and welcoming
The room was far too hot, even with the windows open.Lack of selection of tea.Dripping noise all night(not sure if radiator or gutter)Small bed, no support in mattress.
Has everything you would need for a weekend away, would recommend, very helpful staff , breakfast is worth it too and 12pm checkout is also well received
The Location & Recreational Amenities, Pool & Gym
Size Of Bed I had booked 9 Rooms mostly with Double Beds and found that the bed was an oversized single bed.this was uncomfortable and we had interrupted sleep, We were not able to purchase alcoholic or soft drinks past midnightand sit in the hotels guest seating area that was opposite reception although out of earshot of other guests and rooms.but was advised that we could purchase drinks to take to ours or other guests rooms. When pointing out that this could have an effect on other paying guests next to these rooms. we were advised that was our only choice.I had 27 Members of my family booked in here far too many to squeeze into a standard double room.
Bigger beds it was very small
The small beds & bathroom was very small .It's also very dated
Location, pool twin room
Location, parking and areas to walk our dog. Room was clean and we had enough space.
Friendly helpful staff.Great location,opposite Coate waterpark,near Swindon,straight off motorway.Good breakfast.Dog friendly
Breakfast was pretty good
Water pressure was appealing across the entire hotel. It seems the new eco showers are saving money by only giving enough water to make you slightly damp. Hotel is dated and needs a facelift desperately. If you intend to use the pool then make sure you check the children’s swimming lessons. They are on until 18.30 and kids are every where until ~7 Not usable at peak time.
Pool and restaurant
Loud air vent in room. Rattling.
Good Parking
Hygiene, quite run down and old. Didn’t make up the children’s sofa bed. Bad cannabis smell coming from corridor. Areas of building smelled like urine. There where Kids where doing large jumps in the pool annoying and being rude to other residents in the pool there was no control from the pool staff or lifeguard
The room was clean, the staff was helpful and amazing breakfast..
Disappointing and uncomfortable
Couldn’t use the gym and pool etc as it was closed due to Boxing Day. There was a small sign in the reception desk but no one informed me of this. The lady asked if I’d rather stay somewhere else but I’d just driven for over 4 hours and had no energy to drive further so had no choice to pay full price for not having the experience I promised my daughter. Very sad.
The dining room staff were attentive and friendly; the restaurant was clean, spacious and warm. The food choices were as expected but well presented, also pleased that there was oat milk and soya milk available. The free parking was greatly appreciated. I would have loved to use the gym and the pool but did not have much time from being in the area for work purposes, will definitely use them if and when there is a next time.
The room was warm though felt quite limited for space. The gap between the floor and the bottom of the door was wider than usual which allowed much light through the gap when I have turned the lights off, also the passageway noise was more audible.
