Pros +
- Old Inn/PUB. We liked that. In the town near a lot of shops/restaurants.
- Location was superb, central to walk everywhere and with a great view of the countryside from the garden. Staff was friendly, responsive and helpful. Food in the pub was good.
- They don't provide breakfast. Good cafe/bistro nearby. Room was comfortable
Cons -
- Parking on site was difficult and parking around town was challenging. No Elevator.
- Our room had a few things that needed repair, like a bedside lamp that needed to be replaced, but the staff took care of these things when we mentioned them.
- Light bulb missing from bedside light. Instructions for coffee pod machine would have been useful

Great location in the heart of Malmesbury, a block from the Abbey and an easy stroll to restaurants and shops. The beer garden was a beautiful spot to enjoy a drink and admire the gorgeous countryside. The room was large and well equipped.
If you are in a street side room, the curtains let in a lot of light, and the pub patrons were boisterous and gathered on the street below (which could be an issue if you are a light sleeper or need to get up early). No problem there, because the morning lorries will wake you with their trundling down the street! I always travel with ear plugs and a face mask and would absolutely stay again, but would request a stable room, which are in the more quiet courtyard.
The location right in town was great. The room was fine too though it was very hot and we had to take the duvet out of the cover as it was just too much.
The man at the bar who also gave us our room key was simply rude- like we were intruding. They were busy but that was no excuse. We didn't have any encounter with other staff. Maybe he was having a bad day, but he seemed happy to be behind the bar.
Central location .We had a room in the stables that was lovely
It didn’t have a hairdryer but reception were very helpful and supplied one .
Clean, modern, ideal location.
Mattress was firmer than we are used to so we didn’t have a good nights sleep. The very narrow entrance to the car park at the rear needed careful guidance to prevent damage to our car.
The King's Arms is a lovely old pub right in the heart of Malmesbury, close to the Abbey. The rooms are comfy and well appointed. The hotel doesn't offer breakfast but there are good cafes close by.
Hotel quite clean, but access to the car park very difficult and unmanageable for our car.
Breakfast was not provided, which was inconvenient and the restaurant evening menu was rather limited, but the staff we encountered were friendly.
Lovely hotel and a great pub with a fantastic view of the sunset at the bottom of the garden. Very well situated in the centre of town. I will definitely book here again.
Beautiful location, lovely room. I wasn't expecting car parking as the advert didn't say included parking, I was pleased it was available, however see my other note.
The gap to the car park is very narrow, I damaged the wingmirror on my car because it's so tight. The light from the WiFi disk was really bright and this disturbed my sleep.
Close to town hall and town center amenities.Good check-in experience.I was able to keep my bike in my room (arranged in advance) as it was ground floor, directly accessible from the outside and laminate flooring.Good heating in the room (which was necessary!)
Check out at 10:30am is too early at weekends. And when I did check out and try to return the key I couldn't because reception was locked.
Clean, comfortable helpful staff! Malmesbury is a beautiful town anyway.
Had the "outside" accommodation and it was absolutely perfect. Lots of room, warm, comfy and quiet. Staff really helpful and friendly. Great pub as well.
No issues at all. Parking is quite narrow to get down but there's a big free car park about a minute's walk away if you don't fancy the narrow archway
Location was lovely would have been great if breakfast was included, room was lovely and warm.
Cleaner left a bag of rubbish in the room, l took it to reception for disposal, bed was too hard for me as l like a soft mattress.
It was OK but not worth £115.00 per night
I had a bad nights sleep on 04/01/25 as the pillows were too hard for me, I try a combination of the 4 pillows. I spoke to a member of staff on the morning of 05/01/25 and he advised he didn’t think they had any other pillows but he could look to find some cushions from the bar, to this I pointed out that people could have been sitting on them and cushions to which he agreed and I advised that I wouldn’t want to be sleeping on them if people had been sitting on them. When I went back to my room it was clear that nobody had been in my room and no update on the pillows and clearly none changed as the bed hadn’t been made or the room serviced in any way.I was unhappy with their response from the male team member and the unsatisfactory customer service. When paying £115.00 per night I certainly expect more than received.
Was in the courtyard rooms , which have plenty of space and easy access to the car , parked nearby
Great location with on site parking which is a bonus in town. Room decor was lovely, classic and calming colour scheme, loved the wall panelling behind the bed. Excellent quality bed linen, lovely chair & shelves, nice toiletries and coffee machine was a good edition. Great outside space which would be lovely to sit out in the summer. Overall we had a nice stay and would return.
Mattress was very hard which made for an uncomfortable night's sleep unfortunately. Kettle needed a descale inside & clean on the outside, some knobs for lights were missing and coffee machine hadn't been emptied which caused pod to jamn, we sorted it but that should be checked during room cleaning. Mostly small issues but mattress really needs addressing (room 14). With a more comfortable mattress and other small issues dealt with would have given higher score - easily achievable..
Excellent central location with a car park accessible to small cars. Despite the bar/dining area being very busy (Friday before Christmas) the bar service was excellent.
The shower (room 15) was preset at too high a temperature for comfort and the heated towel rail was not working
Lovely dog-friendly rooms in the stable block- decorated nicely and a very comfy bed. The whole atmosphere was so festive.
