Clean. Comfortable room. What was available at breakfast was good quality hot food.

Waited a while for plates, milk at breakfast. No juice or fried eggs available. Selection of drinks at bar, no archers, no southern comfort.

Very nice staff and the room clean and nice

The pool is something out of a horror movie, extremely dirty ,cracked tiles and dirty .

Service was exceptional. Steak was perfectly cooked as requestedStaff in reception, bar, spa, breakfast room were all friendly, polite and attentif.

The bed was very comfortable, the location was good, and the breakfast was really nice. The staff were pleasant :)

The changing room near the swimming pool was freezing cold, which put me off using that facility a bit. Top up the coffees please :)

    2KaraPosted on: 2-19-2026

    Spa facilities were ok.

Breakfast served later than times given on booking meaning we were unable to eat breakfast on each morning of our 2 night stay (even though I paid for breakfast) as had to leave the hotel promptly at 8am. Staff offered no resolution to this - just said Booking.com had given wrong timings for breakfast. Poor temperature control in room - no aircon.Inadequate parking facilities no spaces left so had to park the car on a nearby road and walk round to the hotel. Staff generally unhelpful

Location was okay, rooms were clean and comfy. The dinner was very nice and the gym and pool great. The reception staff and all the staff were very nice.

Would have like bottled water in the rooms and a bath tub

    Comfortable stay

The room wasn't particularly big for the price, the bare balcony with 2 plastic chairs left a LOT to be desired, and the fridge had no chilled drinks.

    5IanPosted on: 2-18-2026

    The room was clean

    - soap, shampoo and shower gel were in budget hotel like squeeze dispensers - no bottled water- no comfy chair for sitting - reception was basic - restaurant fully booked with no advance notice provided ( by message )- more like a budget hotel room but at circa twice the price

    Rooms are amazing

Impossible to eat a noise in restaurant from music unbearable.. no lounge facilities that are quiet either

    9PhilipPosted on: 2-18-2026

It was valentines when we stayed, and the hotel desk staff made our stay really special. We would visit this hotel again

    8MikePosted on: 2-18-2026

Central location in formerly run down area now enjoying something of a gentrification renaissance. Rooms, facilities, restaurants/bar and food offerings all above average for hotels of a similar 'star' rating. Staff are well trained and attentive, particularly Chris in the Restaurant and Veer on front desk - both are a credit to the business. Breakfast spread one of the most comprehensive you will encounter outside of a true 5 star property. Well done.

Some refurbishment underway which means daytime noise at present, though the communication in advance about this was clear and honest. Biggest issue is the ridiculous 'ding' whenever a lift reaches its destination floor - the bell is so loud it can be heard EVERYWHERE in the hotel and seems like a simple fix - just remove the chime!? Makes restful sleep in any room within 20 feet of a lift on every floor almost impossible.

Well located and the rooms were spacious and clean. Nice big TV with easy access to the HDMI socket to be able to attach a fire stick for entertainment purposes. Just a 10 minute walk into the centre of Sheffield.

Check in was at 3pm however upon arrival was greeted by a large queue of people and then told to wait as the room wasn't ready yet. We had something booked for 4pm so this wasn't convenient but we gave the hotel the benefit of the doubt has it had been valentines day the night before. However, what could not be forgiven was the next morning when work men began drilling and hammering at 9am in the morning within the hotel! We barely get a lye in what with having 2 kids and a dog and we were looking forward to an 11am checkout. However, this completely ruined our getaway. Informed staff but they did not seem bothered at all:( Also, could do with more or fluffy pillows in the bed. Woke up with really bad neck ache in the morning :(

    9BethPosted on: 2-17-2026

Pool was excellent, changing rooms spacious if a little cold. Room lovely, bathroom excellent, nice view of canal.

    9AndrewPosted on: 2-17-2026

Extremely comfortable bed and upgraded to a room away from the lift. Staff friendly and helpful, refurb lifts the hotel and the rooms are great. Good quality breakfast and really like what they have done to the bar area.

No issue at all with the Hotel and the new gym set up is great. The issue is the changing rooms (stink and grubby showers), pool (filthy), steam room (needs repair and a deep clean) are in serious need of an upgrade. I do believe this is on the cards in thenear future. I wear googles and the pool was filthy and the quality of the water bad enough to make me get out after a length.

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean

I’m not one for leaving negative reviews but I paid £220 for one night. I arrived half an hour before the 3pm check in time and was charged £10 for early access to the room. The lady on reception when I arrived barely spoke to me or made any effort to make me feel welcome, handed me a room card pointed to the lifts and I was told that the QR code would tell me anything else I needed to know, like what time breakfast was served, which I’d paid for at the time of booking but wasn’t mentioned during check in. I was given a room opposite the lifts which were busy late into the night. The room had no complementary water and had one pack of biscuits between 2, overall very basic for the room rate. The breakfast was also disappointing, arrived at 9am and already empty trays on the buffet and messy tables full of dirty plates and mugs. Menus on the table giving the option of ordering poached eggs or an omelette but no staff to take an order. I am not a fussy person but it is most definitely not the hotel I would expect for £220 a night. I am happy to pay this price and more for a nice hotel with good service, this was not it! £100 a night max in my opinion!

Staff were friendly and helpful. The attached bar/restaurant was excellent. The pizzas are a must

Check i was a little chaotic. They don't seem to let anyone check in early so the linewas out the door at 3pm. There must be a system where you can check in, but the room key won't allow access until 3pm .... it took 30 mins to get checked in and we got in the line fast.

    6HarrisPosted on: 2-16-2026

The location was great, facilities were good, breakfast was also decent

The miscommunication from the reception staff. Apparently extremely strict ‘rules’ about early check-ins and late check-outs. The prices they quoted us for such extras also happened to be different from the prices I saw here or on the hotel’s website. Even with booking genius rewards there was no complimentary check out or check extensions possible without paying. The leisure club and the sauna spa areas could’ve been cleaner than they were, or better maintained
