About

Converted from an old guardhouse, Garrison Hotel combines historical atmosphere with modern facilities. There is free WiFi, and a restaurant serving homemade food. Sheffield city center is a 10-minute drive away. Rooms have simple décor and come with a flat-screen TV and facilities for making tea and coffee. Each room has its own bathroom with a hairdryer. Garrison Hotel’s restaurant and bar opening days are Friday - Sunday, with food ranging from hearty steaks to more continental options. A full cooked breakfast is provided each morning. Beer is served from local breweries and there is a different selection each week. There are a range of shops and restaurants within 5 minutes’ walk, and good public transport links nearby. Parking is free on site.

    Pros +

    • Room was clean, bar staff were nice.
    • Close to swfc!
    • Staff was great, amazing, nice view easily accessible location lot of places to eat breakfeast was nice All in all a great hotel and would stay again

    Cons -

    • Bed sank in the middle so both me and my partner were not lying flat, also pregnant just now so really wasn’t great!! Think the beds really need to be updated to a better standard. If the bed been better I think this would have helped. My mother in law was in the room next door, and her single bed was exactly the same. Pictures online made me think there was grounds to walk around, there wasn’t, breakfast I think needs to be a lot cheaper, as quality isn’t great.
    • No WiFi! Didn't realise was not actually a hotel, as in rooms like a motel. Bit of a maze in through the bar, then out side down a set of steps. In to reception, back in to car park up stairs in to room! Imagine American films motels lol
    • Storage draw next to bed had a sour smell like spilt milk lights kept flickering and going off outside . Also slipped on stairs that had a roof over it that was wet spilt my drink and a scrape on hand

    Location is perfect

Rooms are Getting a little tired, had a shower late at night & no hot water Went for breakfast at 8.45 & it was like it’d been under hot plate for 2 days , very disappointed as previous stays the breakfast had been great

Lovely room had everything I needed and the staff were all delightful.

There was a movement sensitive like that outside my window. It would have been fine but it was also sensitive to movements within the room so if I moved in bed the light came on and even though the curtains were thick it was still very bright above the curtains.

Nice staff. Clean and good size room nice brekkie as well

    1JuliePosted on: 2-13-2026

The room was warm and clean though dated decoration.

The food was disgusting and even though we wouldn't eat it we were still charged. The breakfast was just as bad.

Facilities need updating.Breakfast was below average.

    7LynnePosted on: 2-11-2026

The room and bathroom were OK just a little tired. They just need a 'good scrub' and a coat of paint.Breakfast was mediocre.

Improving the heating in the bedrooms.

Great location right next door to Morrisons. Value for money.

Decor in rooms from 1970’s. Very noisy with people banging room doors to shut.

    9KevanPosted on: 2-8-2026

The motel style is really good and the bar nearby was comfortable with a decent menu. The staff were very helpful, especially Sandra on reception.

    10MilkoPosted on: 2-8-2026

Exceptional staff they were very friendly and welcoming, the hotel is within easy walking distance of busses and trams and the room was very clean and modern. The breakfast was good and varied. The hotel restaurant/bar has a good menu and is very reasonably priced.

There was nothing we didn't like at this hotel

    6AlisonPosted on: 2-8-2026

    Food and menu looked good.

Decor needs updating. Rooms need furniture painted dark grey no white strips and new dark grey lino in bathrooms.

    Good location

Don’t stay in room 101. Tight on the main toad and noisy all night long.
