- Room was large and equipped.Beds were very comfy.
- Modern decor.Great locationI was given a complimentary room upgradeMostly very clean
Cons -
- There was wifi but is was no use of. I had to purchase 1 week BT wifihotspot. Room too small
- It was very noisy, the door to the carpark was on my hall and Everytime someone buzzed in it was very loud and people's conversations as they walked down the corridor echoed through the room. The car park charge wasn't made clear when booking and there were limited spaces.Even after paying for parking I received a fine which took ages to sort out.
- The only negative is that there were a couple of long hairs in the shower (about 30cm), and I have short hair!

Modern, value for money, clean and central location was perfect.
Liked everything
very clean and quit room
i didnt see lift to room but i was on fist floor its ok
Good clean room. Great location
Bed too hard.
breakfast was good especially as it’s in with the price, and the staff were welcoming
the room needed to be looked after more as the tv didn’t work, there was multiple markings on the wall and just general areas that needed work.the bed was okay but not the most comfy but decent enough for 1 night. bathroom was very nice with soap products available aswell as plenty of towels.
Never again
I had a reservation for 4 nights and they forced me to leave the hotel the second day because they closed it. It was a really weird situation.
Good location for central Reading & train station
Original room allocated felt claustrophobic, with a uninspiring view of an unkempt courtyard. Room i eventually stayed in after being kindly moved had a nice town view, but I didn't realise till waking during the night feeling quite nauseous, just how strong the Indian food cooking smells had permeated through from the restaurant right below this room. Ended up wearing a face mask in bed which i happened to have in my bag to help filter the nauseous smell & eventually managed to get some sleep.
Location
Breakfast & indoor heating
My booking was for a single room, with a TV that was not mounted too high on the wall, so I was given a room on the first floor, which had an older flat screen tv on a bracket(not connected at all, but sadly not removed from the room) and a large Freeview Tv on the desk on its feet, which gave full channels including Dave and Quest. The hotel provides fresh towels and top's up the coffee, tea and little pots of milk daily, plus there is a kettle in the room. Breakfast is now been served, on the ground floor, in the dining room, which doubles as the Indian Restaurant in the evening.
The room was quite compact, and had a traditional window which opened for ventilation and cooling (and a fan which was essential, in the hot 2022 summer), but some rooms in the hotel have air conditioning. The shower in the en-suite shower room, seemed to date from the 1970's and the control was difficult to turn, see photo. There is no lift in the hotel! At Breakfast, some guests in some rooms commented that the TVs in their room had reception issues and some channels were missing.
Best Ibis I have ever stayed at… the attached restaurant is brill… good staff, great food, super friendly.. well done.
Carpet dirty
The location was good and some of the staff were really friendly
There was no cold water in the shower (at all), the room smelled, the TV didn’t work properly and there were no lifts. So we had to carry our 6 extremely heavy pieces of luggage up the stairs by ourselves. Not impressed.
close to the riverside, shops & eating places
bedroom too hot, bed uncomfortable, horrible pillows, toilet didn’t flush properly. none of our party of 4 in 4 different rooms could sleep.
Lack of towels and clean bedding, reported via the cleaner as well. Poor
Nothing. All was wrong, poor quality of everything.
No lift in a building. With heavy luggage on this narrow stairs was impossible to get into my room. Dirty floor in the room, Dirty toilet, broken tv, broken window, no kettle or cup in this room. Reminds more poor hostel room. Noise from the street didn't let me rest. Stinky and untidy. Not recommended by me.
the location
it is all a bit outdated could do with a lick of paint and also the towel rail didn’t work and the light near the bed
Worst night of my life
The fact that I was asked for a security deposit but nothing was mentioned on Booking.com, the room smelled really bad, none of the lights worked properly, the bed was really uncomfortable, sounded like I was sleeping next to a fridge all night, the breakfast tasted like it was cooked the day before!
First time I stayed was much better, as I had a nicer room. There was however a coffee room which was appreciated & the staff were friendly!
Second time I was placed on the 2nd floor & the floor boards creaking kept me awake, the room was small but ok, the shower could have been better though. I couldn’t get breakfast as it was only available from 8 which was after I needed to leave for work!
Good location and facilities
We were given 3 single beds instead of one king or two doubles.
