Pros +
- I liked the fact that the shower room had a window as I am hypersensitive to bright, artificial light. I also liked the fact that there was a fridge in the room - that is why I booked it.
- Comfortable bed, and very close to city center.
- Easy to get into property following the instructions given to us for check in. Great to have a fridge and microwave and cutlery in the room.
Cons -
- I hated the fact that I could not open the window in my room - especially when it was hot (although I could open the bathroom window to a certain extent). I didn't like the fact that I could not reach the microwave (I am only 5' 2"). I am disabled and retired so could not get up on or down from a chair safely or comfortably - to use said appliance.
- There was no hand wash in the bathroom, There were paint strips off the walls on the far side next to the window.
- I am totally against these faceless, corporate owned air bnbs so called hotels... A hotel is supposed to offer hospitailty? This one doesn't. Rooms are allocated by a message through booking.con 15 mins before the check in time... I only figured this when another couple rocked up, having already waited half an hour and several pointless phonecalls to automated answering services. The room, below ground level was musty and dare I say it stank of damp, two doors led off the room, one to an underground cellar which doubled as a ventilation room, the other was locked with access prohibited... The problem is that the one that was open was open to the outside, so the security conscious individual would probably be a bit put out at this. The single bed ( incorrectly advertised as one twin bed)was rock hard consisting of two wooden blocks topped by a barely sprung mattress acquired from a skip which pinged on every turn. Although the room was clean, it is advisable that the guest should not look too closely. Complementing the room a full size fridge was present and made full sized fridge noises, and as it was surplus to my requirements, turned off.Despite the offer of scratch cards for reduced parking charges (£10) these were not available nor was there anyone in reception as the reception didn't exist. So the guest can expect to pay the full whack of £16.70 for 24hours of parking. One positive was found in the shower, clean and reasonable pressure, it was actually a pleasure to have a shower after the most uncomfortable nights sleep since sleeping on a deflated airbed. To sum up, if you don't like people, have a strong back and not averse to a bit of damp, and have a bit of cash to spare this is your perfect getaway.Personally I felt cheated, by both the owners and booking.com, having paid £144 for 2 nights.

Easy to get into property following the instructions given to us for check in. Great to have a fridge and microwave and cutlery in the room.
Was in the 3rd flood (lots of stairs) and had to carry the suitcase up as no lift in the property. Also stated to put rubbish in bins but rubbish was left outside other rooms and in stairwells for the majority of the stay.
Room was amazing. Everything we needed.Great location for town and the HoeWasnt harassed by staff.PERFECT
Stairs were an issue even for the fittest 7 flights to our room.In none of the correspondence was it mentioned
Location and facilties exceeded expectations, the room was very competitively priced it had, crockery, cutlery, kitchenette, ironing board, tea & coffee making facilties, Netflix and self contained en suite bathroom, we were about 500 meters from the pavilion theatre in one direction and about 700 meter to the barbican in the other.
Online reception had not sent the access code for our arriveal, but had sent the departure email, this was sorted out with the help of the owner. And was a minor hiccup
I like the idea of having a fridge, microwave so y could have a hot meal should you be looking at economy spending its ideal with shops nearby. I occasionally try to get Ocean stay I do like it. I met the owners they're so polite & amenable.
I would have like firmer pillows more than one otherwise fine.
Very clean, tidy, good location. Ideal for self catering.
Clean and tidy, lovely room and a great price!!
Excellent accommodation in a good sized, well appointed room. Everything you could need and check in was fine considering no reception.Only 1 thing that requires attention and that was the curtain hanging off the curtain rail but otherwise superb and would definitely stay again as excellent value for money.
Great location, only 5 minutes walk from the city centre. Clean room with a fridge and microwave. Communication with staff through chat was excellent, easy check in and check out.
The staff was great, immediately responding to all our messages and questions. Also the location is great!
We stayed for two nights. The first night was very loud and we barely slept due to our neighbours partying and watching TV till after 2am. The sound insulation of the walls and doors is definitely bad. Additionally, the cold tape water in the sink did not work what makes drinking water from the room difficult.
The place was clean, and had a fridge
Hard to check in, didn't realise I had to log into a portal so had to call the scotland number several times to get the key codes, which took 2 hours before I managed to check into the property, as had to charge my phone part way through the experience.
I liked the location fantastic shower powerful heater in room is big and can be turned on when you want heat and room had a fridge which was perfect and a microwave if that’s your thing ?
The checking in system’s to complicated if owners wasn’t there I would’ve got in once in door code to get in is simple but door seems to jam or not close properly like when the lady was showing me it jammed on her also if your old I wouldn’t recommend as there’s lots of stairs
Lovely and clean
TV had no internet which should have been checked prior to checkin
Quiet and warm.A few minor issues that could be attended to. Location was ideal, plenty of parking.Comfy bed.Glad I had a low floor as scared of heights and could not visit friends in top floor room.
Tv sound quality very poor- could not use. A little more attention to detail in cleaning.Unable to use hanging space due to ironing board. Un plugged fridge due to noiseBoiler noise coming from staff cupboard.Man in room next door snored all night! All these things were minor and did not deter from enjoyment of room. Would visit again.
Sian was really helpful when I arrived and needed to stash my suitcase before check in
The room was on 4th floor, steps very tiring. It would have been useful to know this before booking
Very clean, warm, great shower, liked the " up market" feel
Initial issue with access instructions but that was " user issue" and in the end appreciated the security measures, felt safe and secure.
Good value for moneyEquip for self catering
Issues with the main door to the property. We weren’t the only ones having issues. When we came back late at midnight the main door wouldn’t lock at all which made us feel very uneasy. Emailed the property but didn’t seem to be sorted.
Nice size room
Front door locking system dodgy hence why it was kicked in at 1 o clock in the morning waking us up
